* ScrewedByTheNetwork: The show was originally canned after its second season due to Disney purchasing Creator/{{ABC}} behind Creator/{{CBS}}'s back. Overseas demand led to Disney reluctantly ordering a longer third season, but said season didn't air in the US until 1999. Sadly, it was deferred to the lower-rated Creator/ToonDisney, without much promotion.

Mentioned in the main page

* CanonDiscontinuity: Debatably if one goes by the later-released ''WesternAnimation/TheLionKingOneAndAHalf'', which ignores several aspects of this cartoon and even directly contradicts others, most notably regarding the origin of how the duo met each other. It's also debatable whether the opposite is true, or if both projects are this.

** Three episodes contain deleted scenes: "Guatemala Malarkey" has one of Timon putting a padlock on Pumbaa's mouth (although this edit is only on Disney Cinemagic in the United Kingdom), "Oahu Wahoo" has one with [[HarsherInHindsight planes crashed into a building]], and "Catch Me If You Kenya" has an additional scene with the butterfly collector. The problem? You cannot find the original versions of these episodes, since the Dailymotion uploads are taken from airings on Disney Cinemagic and Toon Disney/Disney Channel, all of which have the edits. While the scenes from the former two episodes were eventually restored on the [=YouTube=] uploads, the deleted scene from "Catch Me If You Kenya" remains forever lost, thanks to that episode and it's sister episode "Scent of the South" [[MissingEpisode never being uploaded]].

* BannedEpisode: According to Wiki/TheOtherWiki, "Oregon Astray" and its sister episode "New Guinea Pig" were never aired on Creator/DisneyChannel and Creator/ToonDisney after its airing on WesternAnimation/TheDisneyAfternoon for unknown reasons (at least in America, as they have been aired in overseas versions). Oddly enough, footages from these episodes were used in several Toon Disney promos. The episodes were restored on Creator/DisneyPlus.

* BTeamSequel: Season three could be considered this, as it gained a new set of writers and directors, was being produced by Creator/StudioBProductions in Canada, and aired three years after the second season ended. About the only people who returned were the voice actors and two of the animation teams (Creator/MorningSun and Creator/WangFilmProductions).

** Usually in many foreign dubs, almost everybody retains their voice actors from the films in the TV series. The only exceptions to this were in the Japanese dub, as Pumbaa is still voiced by Atomu Kobayashi (a theater actor and his original voice actor in the films) in the first seven episodes and replaced later with Hiroshi Hatanaka, who also voices him in the ''Franchise/KingdomHearts'' games, in the Italian dub where Timon is now voiced by Creator/RobertoPedicini (the current Italian voice of WesternAnimation/{{Goofy}}), and in the French dub where Jean-Philippe Puymartin reprised his role as Timon for the first few episodes before being replaced by Mark Lesser for the rest of the series.
