* FanTranslation: Done by Aeon Genesis for ''Alpha Gaiden'' - still something of an ObviousBeta, as admitted by the creator[[note]]The current version is listed as "0.95"[[/note]], but the game is playable from start to finish, despite some bugged text strings. However, it's generally agreed the work is accurate to the original translation, even pulling a PragmaticAdaptation to keep a joke from ''Anime/CombatMechaXabungle'' intact. Meanwhile, Aeon Genesis is still progressing with an ''Alpha'' [[https://aeongenesis.net/projects/srwalpha translation]].

** Just the general fact that the first game was ''not only'' just being considered but ''substantially worked on'' for a localization at one point. International fans were so close to having this series in the franchise in English.
** The first Alpha game was suppose to be launched on the Dreamcast on July 26, 2001. But it was changed to August 30, 2001 so that Banpresto can have enough time to go over the gameplay and make sure no bugs are present.

* An ActorAllusion happens with Virtual On's debut and Chief, Chief's voice actor. Atsuki Tani was [[VideoGame/HaloCombatEvolved Master Chief's]] Japanese Voice Actor.

** They also wanted to bring back ''Manga/GiantRobo'' in ''Alpha 3'', with an original storyline where [[Manga/GiantRobo Big Fire]] tries to get his hands on Irui and ends up with the [[spoiler:Nashim Gan Eden]]. Unfortunately, the creator Mitsuteru Yokoyama died in April 15, 2004 during the game's development, and his estate raised the prices on the licenses. And what we mean by "licenses" is, the supporting cast (i.e., the characters from Yokoyama's other works) suddenly had their licenses tacked onto the ''Giant Robo'' license by the estate holders. This meant Banpresto would've had to pay for ''Giant Robo'' itself, THEN pay extra just to use the supporting cast. In short, the series became more expensive because it now was a collection of separate licenses instead of one single license. This led to them scrapping their plan, and ''Giant Robo'' has not been in a ''Super Robot Wars'' game since.

* NoExportForYou: A ''very'' frustrating example as a translation of the UsefulNotes/SegaDreamcast version of ''Alpha'' WAS in the works at some point (spurred on largely by the fact it was ready for release at the height of the popularity of ''[[Anime/MobileSuitGundamWing New Mobile Report Gundam Wing]]'', and the general {{Anime}} boom in North America), but contractual disputes killed it, regardless.
** To be specific, the exact reason it was canned was because Harmony Gold said "no", as they did not want ''Anime/SuperDimensionFortressMacross'' to be brought to the United States, thus interfering with ''{{Anime/Robotech}}'' sales (even though ''Robotech'' had ended a decade earlier[[note]]It's never been made clear if Harmony Gold said no period, or if Harmony Gold said no to letting any ''Macross'' names left unchanged, but they'd give the okay if they were changed to ''Robotech'' names - a change Creator/{{Banpresto}} was unwilling to make, presumably due to ''Anime/{{Macross 7}}'' having no connections to ''Robotech'' as a whole[[/note]]). They were the only licensing company to negate on the deal, and Banpresto couldn't just dummy out the units as ''Macross'' is integral to the game's plot.

* BeamMeUpScotty: One of [[CommonKnowledge the most widely known highlights]] of ''Alpha 3'' is basically a now-badass [[Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion Shinji Ikari]] slaps the hell out of [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamSEED Kira Yamato]] from his {{Wangst}}. However, that isn't actually the case - when Kira lashes out at everyone, Shinji defaults to his "meek" personality, but more or less tells him along the lines of "Please, just cut this out...". He's still telling Kira to stop it with his {{Wangst}}, yet Shinji remains in his CowardlyLion persona (despite the effects of interacting with the Alpha Numbers back in ''Alpha'' not getting {{Retcon}}ned) instead of ''physically slapping him'' and going all gung-ho and optimistic.

* RelationshipVoiceActor: Aya to Mai, as [[VideoGame/TalesOfSymphonia Raine Sage to Genis Sage]]. Also, Aya-Ingram-Viletta is a touch on [[Manga/FushigiYuugi Yui, Nakago and Soi]].

* NamesTheSame:
** Is it Miwa "[[Anime/KotetsuJeeg Uzuki]]" or Miwa "[[Anime/{{Daimos}} Sakimori]]"? Thank god the former can be referred as "Micchi"...
** Is Erika the [[Anime/{{Daimos}} Baam Princess]] or girlfriend to [[Anime/{{Gaiking}} Sanshiro Tsuwabuki]]? To think that both Erikas' {{Love Interest}}s is voiced by Creator/AkiraKamiya...
** When talking about Kid, are we talking about GadgeteerGenius [[Anime/AfterWarGundamX Kid Salsamille]] or [[Anime/{{Braiger}} Jotaro "Blaster Kid" Kidou]], one of the members of Team [=J9=]? In fact, both characters reference this in ''Alpha Gaiden'' by calling their prank the "Double Kid Special".

* In one MASSIVE HeelFaceTurn, the [[Anime/SpaceRunawayIdeon Ide]] decides to spare the universe from a KillEmAll scenario.

* FanNickname: In Japan, ''Nilpha'' and ''Salpha'' for ''Alpha 2'' and ''Alpha 3'', respectively.

** Incomplete sprites for practically all the mecha from ''Manga/GundamSentinel''[[note]]Including the S Gundam, Ex-S Gundam, Zetaplus A1 and C1, FAZZ, Xeku Eins, Xeku Zwei, Gundam Mk-V and Z'od-iacok[[/note]] can be found on the disc of ''Alpha 3'': for ages, fans [[EpilepticTrees speculated]] that ''Sentinel'' was removed in favor of ''Anime/MobileSuitGundamSEED'' (which WordOfGod admitted was added due to Bandai's insistence) until the same sprites were also found on the ''Alpha 2'' disc. The only remnant of the story in either game is the Barzam, whose appearance is that of the refined version from ''Sentinel'' (which closely resembles the Gundam Mk-II) than the original ''Anime/MobileSuitZetaGundam'' version.
** The songs from ''Anime/{{Macross 7}}'' were originally planned to be fully voiced and not just a line or two. Sadly, WordOfGod dropped that when they realized that licensing the music from the show is apparently more expensive than the ''entire'' series itself.

This backfires horribly because the heroes keep beating them up, and the Zentradi, [[Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion Angels]], and Aerogaters showing up really doesn't help their cause. But really, it's because [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamWing Trieze Khusrenada]] [[EveryoneHasStandards doesn't like]] [[Anime/MobileSuitZetaGundam Jamitov Hymen]]; he even runs interference for the SDF-1 at one point.

* Euzeth uses [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsAlpha Ingram]] [[CloningBlues Prisken]] to influence [[Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion Gendo Ikari]] into reading the Dead Sea Scrolls.

* The [[Anime/AfterWarGundamX Vertigo's]] [[AttackDrone Bits attack is based off of funnel technology]]. Likewise, the G-Bits are apparently a fusion of Gundam and [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamWing Mobile Doll]] tech.

* The [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamWingEndlessWaltz Mariemeia Army]] is [[TheRemnant a remnant of the]] [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamWing Organization of Zodiac]] collaborating with the Titans obstensibily to get the remnants of the Romafeller Foundation back into power. In reality, they're lying through their teeth and planning to use [[ColonyDrop Operation Meteor]] to blackmail the Titans and Preventers into submission, and want to subvert Operation Aegis to save themselves and their supporters. The Titans are pretty much doing the same thing.

This in turn has an effect of Creator/KiyoyukiYanada standing in for Sogabe's other character, [[Anime/{{Daimos}} Kyoshiro Yuzuki]], starting from his voiced debut at ''Alpha 2''.
