And [[GirlShowGhetto they think it's important to appeal to a women's audience, so their main character is female]], who's supposed to have Jedi powers, but we don't know how she got Jedi powers, or who she is. It sucks. The storylines are terrible. Just terrible. Awful. You can quote me—'J.J. Abrams, Kathy Kennedy–talk to me.'

* FranchiseZombie: George Lucas originally planned for ''twelve'' films total, but boiled his plans down to nine while working on ''The Empire Strikes Back'' and ''Return of the Jedi'', then went with six from there. Lucas eventually stated that he [[ExactWords wouldn't direct any more films in the franchise beyond the two trilogies]], and any further films would have to be made with his approval. Disney convinced him to allow for more films with a $4,000,000,000 deal — however, he was a creative consultant for the sequel trilogy, and the cast and crew involved were very enthusiastic about the project.
* GodNeverSaidThat: Variation- George Lucas ''did'', in fact, state outright that Disney threw out the story concepts that he wrote for the sequels and started completely fresh; however, he was simply mistaken. Kathleen Kennedy later clarified that they didn't discard them entirely, they simply rearranged things and took creative license wherever they wished, and subsequent revelations have confirmed that a lot of his ideas - such as a disgraced Luke going into hiding in an ancient Jedi temple, a young female scavenger (Rey, but Lucas named her Kira) being the one to find him, Han and Leia's son being corrupted by the dark side, and a scene set in the ruins of the second Death Star - did indeed end up being used.

** ''Rebel Strike'' is either the third title in the Rogue Squadron series or a ''WesternAnimation/StarWarsRebels''-based browser game.

** And then there's ''The Last Jedi''... It's the eighth films in the saga, the final book of the ''Coruscant Nights'' trilogy, or an issue of ''Marvel Star Wars''. Mark Hamill poked fun at all of these, saying they had spoilers for the film.

* FountainOfExpies: Darth Vader has enough that it [[DarthVaderClone warrants its own page]]. To a lesser extent, Palpatine inspired a ''lot'' of "lords of all evil" characters. You can even expect to see a Palpatine-esque character with a raspy voice, dark cloak and rugged looks every time a show wants to display its ultimate villain.

* AuthorExistenceFailure: Creator/CarrieFisher's sudden death before ''Film/TheRiseOfSkywalker'' even began filming sent the crew into complete panic, as she was planned to have a larger role in it than either of the two preceding films, and had clearly been set up to have her own dramatic climax with her son being the new BigBad. They quickly started discussions on their options, including having Leia be killed between films, simply kept offscreen, or using the same CGI double process that had been used with Creator/PeterCushing ([[spoiler:and briefly Fisher herself]]) in ''Rogue One''. [[labelnote:*]]Lucasfilm [[http://www.starwars.com/news/a-statement-regarding-new-rumors made it clear]] that they would ''not'' attempt to digitally recreate her likeness or performance like they did in ''Film/RogueOne'' (which was done with Fisher's approval), most likely because of the mixed reception of said scene and those using Creator/PeterCushing's likeness.[[/labelnote]] In the end, it would be decided that unused footage of Fisher from ''Film/TheForceAwakens'' and ''Film/TheLastJedi'' would be used in ''The Rise of Skywalker''.

** The ridiculously common theory that "bringing balance to the Force" actually meant equalizing the number of Jedi and Sith (thus Anakin really ''did'' bring balance to the Force through [[ThePurge Order 66]] even if that wasn't his intention) has been firmly squashed by George Lucas who has helpfully clarified that ''the Sith'' are the source of imbalance in the Force. "Bringing balance to the Force" refers to destroying or redeeming all of the Sith, thus cleansing the Force of the dark side, which is inherently an imbalance.
** Then Jossed again (and supported by a FlipFlopOfGod from George Lucas) in the "Mortis" episodes of ''WesternAnimation/StarWarsTheCloneWars''. There {{Anthropomorphic Personification}}s of the Balance (the Father), the Light (the Daughter) and the Dark (the Son) are introduced and it is explicitly stated that neither the Light nor the Dark Side can be allowed to become too powerful or the consequences for the universe would be terrible.

* PopCultureHoliday: May 4th is commonly known as "Star Wars Day" due to the pun "May the Fourth be with you" (as in, "May the Force be with you"). May 5th and May 6th are sometimes celebrated as "Revenge of the Fifth/Sixth" to celebrate Sith Lords and other villainous characters from the franchise.
