This means Bart can't even live in the same house as her, and thus, he can't use the bathroom while she's there. Bart eventually settles for NatureTinkling instead.

** In "[[Recap/TheSimpsonsS7E2122ShortFilmsAboutSpringfield 22 Short Films About Springfield]]", Milhouse goes into Comic Book Guy's store to use his bathroom, but Comic Book Guy says it's for paying customers only. Mulhouse buys a comic, but his father walks in and mistakenly thinks his son lied about needing to go so he could purchase something. Comic Book Guy refuses to say anything in his defense, and Milhouse is dragged out.

** [[Recap/TheSimpsonsS2E1BartGetsAnF Bart Gets an F]] Bart prays for a miracle to help him get a passing grade on a test, or he'll be held back. The next day is a snow day, giving Bart more study time. When Bart is about to go play in the snow, Lisa stops him, pointing out that this is the miracle he'd asked for, and that he shouldn't waste it, to which Bart agrees. After he passes the test by the skin of his teeth and his parents are putting his test on the refrigerator, he says, "You know, part of this D- belongs to God."
** PlayedForLaughs in [[Recap/TheSimpsonsS6E18AStarIsBurns A Star Is Burns]] . Todd Flanders falls into a river and is being swept away. Ned Flanders drops to his knees and immediately prays, "Flanders to God, Flanders to God; Get off your duff and save my Todd!" Instantly, a tree falls over, barring the river and allowing Todd to cling to it and pull himself to safety. When Flanders gives thanks, a giant hand comes out of the clouds making the OK sign, and a booming voice says "Okely Dokely!"

** In "Sweet Seymour Skinner's Baadasssss Song", Bart brings his dog Santa's Little Helper to show and tell at school. The dog soon escapes into the air ducts, leading to a chain of events that leads to Principal Skinner getting fired.
** In "Jazzy and the Pussycats", Lisa gets depressed when Bart's drumming skills land him a gig in the jazz band she wanted to be in, so she copes by adopting abandoned animals (including some from a circus) and hiding them in the attic... which just happens to be where Bart and his pals like to practice, leading to a tiger cub biting Bart in his drumming arm. The next day, Lisa is told by Chief Wiggum that she has to sell the animals within 24 hours or they'll be seized and put down; Bart manages to raise money for surgery to fix his arm, but he feels bad for Lisa and decides to use the money to build a homeless animal sanctuary named in her honor.
** In "My Octopus and a Teacher", Lisa makes a documentary about an octopus that ends with it seemingly eaten by a shark. It turns out, however, that Lisa saved the octopus and took it home, hiding it from the family. The octopus, however, keeps getting out of its tank and wandering around the house, narrowly avoiding danger on several occasions. Through a complicated series of events, the octopus latches on to Bart's face during a school assembly, leading to him accidentally wreaking havoc.
** In "Whacking Day", Bart and Lisa hide all the snakes in Springfield in the Simpson house to keep them from being killed during the titular holiday.
** A brief gag on "Marge vs. the Monorail" has Marge finding a family of possums living in the fire extinguisher compartment of the monorail engine.

** "[[Recap/TheSimpsonsS8E8HurricaneNeddy Hurricane Neddy]]" shows that Ned has had behavioral problems since he was a child and the method used to control Ned's anger overcorrected it and caused Ned to bottle up any feeling of anger, no matter how justified he is to be angry. After a series of unpredictable tragedies, Ned has a breakdown and berates the entire town for failing to help him in his time of need (despite a well-intentioned but ultimately flawed attempt of rebuilding his house). The lesson of the episode is that expressing anger isn't automatically evil, it just needs to be controlled and done appropriately.
** "[[Recap/TheSimpsonsS13E18IAmFuriousYellow I am Furious Yellow]]": After learning that his anger has made him the laughing stock of the town after Bart bases a webcomic on his many outbursts, Homer decides to overcorrect himself by suppressing all of his anger for the rest of his life. Bart forms a prank to set him off but changes his mind, unfortunately, Homer falls victim to the prank and finally loses it and goes on a rampage that somehow results in millions of dollars in damages. Before Marge can punish Bart, Hibbert informs her that Bart had just saved Homer's life by making him angry as his suppressed anger was forming into boils that would have otherwise fatally overwhelmed his system.

Homer hurries out of the house and winds up buying Marge a bowling ball for a present.

Adult Fear is now a disambig

* AdultFear:
** "Homer's Odyssey" -- Homer loses his job, fails to find a new one, slips into a deep depression, and [[DrivenToSuicide tries to kill himself]]. And [[NightmareFuel Marge is the one]] [[TearJerker who finds his suicide note]].
** "Home Sweet Homediddly-Dum-Doodily" -- Due to several misunderstandings, child welfare accused Homer and Marge of negligence and their children are taken away from them. It was particularly heartbreaking when Homer and Marge wander in their house to each of their kids' empty bedrooms. And when Marge and Homer heard Bart's signature ring, they rushed down to the front door, faces joyful, only to see nobody was there.
** There was the episode where Homer's mother Mona dies. Homer has been reunited with his mother for the first time in a while, after being abandoned by her ''again'', and he's genuinely angry at that. So he tells her that he doesn't want to forgive her, and goes away... only to find, later that night when he comes down to apologize to her, that poor Mona died in her sleep. For many adults, the realization that they are ''highly'' likely to see their parents die, and the idea of a parent (or any loved one really) dying after an argument is... sobering.
** The episode where Lisa finds a beached whale and tries desperately to save it hits us with the "not every life can be saved and parents can't solve everything" message, made even more painful by Lisa's HopeSpot dream where BumblingDad Homer of all people rescues the whale by organizing a ton of different people for the sole purpose of making Lisa happy.
** "500 Keys" -- Maggie is locked alone in the car. [[spoiler: She's smart enough to get out on her own, but it's still pretty scary]].
** Parodied when Lisa tricks Homer into letting her go downtown by herself on the bus. He casually tells Lenny and Carl this, and they're horrified. Cue Homer making up a story about how Lisa is so smart she overloaded a computer, which Lenny and Carl don't fall for, and Homer finally running off to save Lisa.
** "Alone Again, Natura-Diddly" -- Ned and Maude Flanders go to a racetrack and Maude, naturally offended by Homer's inevitable antics, gets up to go get her family some hot dogs. They look away, and [[DistractedFromDeath Maude dies in a freak accident moments later]].
** "Bart vs. Thanksgiving" -- Homer and Marge look back with regret when Bart runs away because of their rather harsh punishment of him. Topped off with Homer lamenting "Will we ever see him again?".
** "Today, I Am a Clown" starts with the family finding Maggie locked in the bathroom. Homer and Bart attempt to get the door open with a coat hanger, and not only do they almost hit Maggie with it several times, but the hanger ends up knocking the contents of a cabinet (pills, razors, combs and scissors) into the ground, in Maggie's easy reach. Pink shampoo leaks through the door, which Homer mistakes for baby blood.
** Bart's disappearance in "Gone Boy" is taken surprisingly seriously, despite the newscast in the middle. We feel Marge's hopelessness and lack of faith in the police, along with his friends' worry about finding him.
