In the 2011 version, he also doubles as a highly intimidating type 1, a gruff OldSoldier who's CoveredWithScars and unwilling to accept the young Lion-O as his leader and liege until the boy [[AsskickingEqualsAuthority proves his worth in battle]].

Physically, she's both the most heavy-set ''and'' the strongest out of all of her friends, and her magic is rivaled only by [[TheChick Amity]]'s in terms of raw strength. She's even shown to be able to ''physically restrain'' [[spoiler:a rampaging Belos in his OneWingedAngel form]] in "King's Tide".

* ''WesternAnimation/TheOwlHouse'': Willow. Physically, she's both the most heavy-set ''and'' the strongest out of all of her friends, and magic-wise, the only one who can rival hers in strength is [[TheChick Amity]]. She's even shown to be able to physically restrain [[spoiler:a rampaging Belos in his OneWingedAngel form]] in "King's Tide".

* ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic.'': Rainbow Dash. She's as strong as Applejack, very athletic, and far quicker to request a direct, physical solution than any other team member. She also happens to be pretty dense and, to top it off, she's the Spirit of the Element of Loyalty.

* Diana the Acrobat, Being the most athletic of the heroes in the ''WesternAnimation/DungeonsAndDragons1983'' cartoon.

* Buck Tuddrussel of ''WesternAnimation/TimeSquad'' punches first and asks questions later. Could even be categorized at some points as DumbMuscle.

* Bulkhead of ''WesternAnimation/TransformersAnimated'' is a Class 2 and 5. He's got the clumsiness and the slightly [[SimpletonVoice oafish voice]], but is a GentleGiant as well as quite intelligent, especially in battle (like how he countered [[ImplacableMan Lugnut's]] RocketPunch). He's even revealed to be an expert in space-bridge technology, firmly putting him in GeniusBruiser territory.

* Brock Samson from ''WesternAnimation/TheVentureBrothers'' is a Class 3. He's got a hard exterior but he genuinely cares for Hank and Dean.

* ''WesternAnimation/BooBoomTheLongWayHome'': Being a horse, Boldsteed is easily the biggest and strongest member of the group. He frequently carries all his teammates at once, and is the most useful in a fight. He is however of the GentleGiant varity, frequently acting as the voice of reason in the group.
* ''WesternAnimation/JackieChanAdventures'': Tohru starts as the Brute for the Dark Hand in Season 1, before he makes a HeelFaceTurn and becomes a type 2 for the Chan family. Mixes in type 4 once he becomes Uncle's apprentice and starts learning chi magic.

* Shane Gooseman, the SuperSoldier from ''WesternAnimation/AdventuresOfTheGalaxyRangers''. He towers over the other three (and, at 19, is probably not finished growing, either!), and can easily take the most damage. Definitely a Class 3, as he comments in "One Million Emotions" that his kind can only get "angry and mad," but was seen in "Supertroopers" being the only one of his kind that questioned his role as a SuperSoldier.

* Toph from ''WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender'' is a CuteBruiser variety. Her first episode had her taking on five skilled [[DishingOutDirt earthbenders]] and taking them all out sequentially. Her DisabilitySuperpower certainly helps in that regard; her opponents underestimate her and she kicks up a cloud of dust that doesn't affect the way she "sees."

* WesternAnimation/BigGuyAndRustyTheBoyRobot: A rather obvious example is the titular Big Guy plays this role on the team dynamic. It's literally right in the name.
* The WesternAnimation/BionicSix's GeniusBruiser, J.D., is not only strong, but may be taller then the rest of the family.
* Booster from ''WesternAnimation/BuzzLightyearOfStarCommand'' is this for Team Lightyear, and often clubs large enemy robots...[[GrievousHarmWithABody with other large enemy robots]].
* Gor-illa of ''WesternAnimation/CaptainSimianAndTheSpaceMonkeys'' fulfills Class 2 and 5. Due to events in the origin story, Gor-illa is a very intelligent, pacifist gorilla who goes into OneWingedAngel mode when angered into a berserker rage.
* Trevor Belmont from ''WesternAnimation/{{Castlevania}}'' is a Class 5 Big Guy for PowerTrio being the most combat inclined as a VampireHunter. It’s especially evident in the second season when Alucard and Sypha like a couple of nerds have to hit the books and magically trap Dracula’s castle all while Trevor goes OneManArmy on the TheLegionsOfHell to defend them while they work because combat is his specialty. Though Trevor can overlap with TheLeader with all the orders he gives.
* Numbuh Four in ''WesternAnimation/CodenameKidsNextDoor'' is the rare CuteBruiser and DumbMuscle type, who has a random chance of being afflicted with TheWorfEffect.
* Sgt. Mace from ''WesternAnimation/COPSAnimatedSeries'', probably for his usage of heavy weapons.
* In ''WesternAnimation/DuckTales1987'' and ''WesternAnimation/DarkwingDuck'', Launchpad is a GeniusDitz who is the tallest and strongest of the group.

* Wolf Bronski and Marsala from ''WesternAnimation/ExoSquad'' embody two different styles of the trope. Bronski is the team's BoisterousBruiser, wielding a ground-support [[MiniMecha E-frame]] with powerful weapons and being the show's main source of levity. Marsala is the team's GeniusBruiser, a [[TokenHeroicOrc Neosapien working for Exofleet]] and the most physically imposing of Able Squad, but prefers using more strategic approaches and subversion to undermine [[BigBad Phaeton]]'s regime.
* In ''WesternAnimation/{{Futurama}}'' when muscle or a degree of inhuman dexterity is required, Bender can be counted as a Class 5 GeniusBruiser, although he's more cunning than clever. If the problem is just with too many BadassNormal mooks, then Leela will go berserker and kick their butts with her ninja skills.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Gargoyles}}:'' While Goliath has the physique normally associated with the character, this is Broadway's function. He might be a little on the chubby side, but he's no less strong or (as one unfortunate {{mook|s}} found out when his gun was effortlessly crushed like a soda can) fearsome in a confrontation.
* Wendy from ''WesternAnimation/GravityFalls'' normally looks like a laid-back teen girl that happens to be YoungerThanTheyLook due to "freak lumberjack genes" leading to an early growth spurt. Those same freak lumberjack genes also give her the power to snap a huge ex-con's arm like a twig and make her ''very'' handy with an axe.
* Kon Kujira of ''WesternAnimation/{{Grojband}}'', the band's BigFun drummer who is also the strongest and least intelligent (although he's more of a GeniusDitz than a FatIdiot) member of the group. In contrast, his twin brother Kin is TheSmartGuy of the band.
* Hawkgirl in ''WesternAnimation/JusticeLeague''. Ironic in that she's [[PintsizedPowerhouse physically the smallest member]] of the league.

* June from ''WesternAnimation/KaBlam'', not in terms of size, but she's definitely the toughest character.
* Rosa from ''WesternAnimation/KidCosmic'' is the toughest and strongest member of the team, owing to the [[GiantWoman powers]] that her Cosmic Stone brings her. It's a bit of an unusual example, because she's a 4-year-old.
* The show ''WesternAnimation/KingArthurAndTheKnightsOfJustice'' was an interesting example, because it starred a team of football players temporarily taking the place of the Knights of the Round Table, it was unique in having about five big guys (Lineman) who were essentially interchangeable from one story to the next.
* Nathan Explosion of ''WesternAnimation/{{Metalocalypse}}'' is a Class 3 if there ever was one- his growling voice, immense size, and general reputation of brutality hides the fact that, at heart, he's something of a marshmallow. [[CuteKitten Who loves kitties.]] And his father. And Disneyland.
* ''WesternAnimation/MightyDucksTheAnimatedSeries'' has Grin--a massive musclebound giant who fights with his bare hands, but also [[GentleGiant an ardent follower of Zen philosophy]], who never uses more force than needed.
* Rainbow Dash from ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic.'' She's as strong as Applejack, very athletic, and far quicker to request a direct, physical solution than any other team member. She also happens to be pretty dense and, to top it off, she's the Spirit of the Element of Loyalty.
* In ''WesternAnimation/ThePenguinsOfMadagascar'' Rico is their BigGuy of a perfect Class 1 - he's even got the scar.
* Buford from ''WesternAnimation/PhineasAndFerb''. He'd probably ''like'' to be regarded as TheBrute, but he's actually too nice for that.

* The Yeti Ti-Yet in ''WesternAnimation/RoswellConspiraciesAliensMythsAndLegends''. Easily the largest of the main characters and only the golem seems to actually be larger.
* The male half of the WesternAnimation/SilverHawks' Steel Twins, William "Steelwill" Hart, is a good example.
* Air Enforcer is this to the ''WesternAnimation/SkysurferStrikeForce'', being the biggest, strongest member with the most weapons.

** Cyborg from fits #5.
** Beast Boy also fits this as a Class 4; while his jokes are groan-worthy, he's a general nice guy... who relies on brute force in the form of animal forms.
** Raven might be [[TheHero Robin's]] [[TheLancer Lancer]], but is TheBigGuy in that her powers are MUCH more brutal, and ''piss her off enough'' by [[BerserkButton messing around her friends]] -- [[OhCrap you are screwed]].
** Starfire is the ViolentlyProtectiveGirlfriend CuteBruiser type.
** Really, at this point, it might be easier to describe Robin as [[FragileSpeedster the only Small Guy]] on the team.
