* Watching the heroes from each universe learning of their respective {{Face Heel Turn}}s, {{Heroic Sacrifice}}s, and bouts of WithGreatPowerComesGreatInsanity that they will experience in the "correct" universe.

** This also followed the ComicBook/BatmanAndCaptainAmerica crossover in which Batman and Captain America swapped partners, making it sting a little more for those who read that one-shot.

* While virtually everyone reacts badly to the images shown by The Grandmaster. When Hal Jordan witnesses his actions as Parallax, [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone he just looks at the image of his future-self in silent horror]].

** Not the only time they've talked about it ([[spoiler: Jan is the last person Hank called before his suicide attempt in ''West Coast Avengers'', and he specifically did so to tell her that it was all his and he didn't blame her for anything]]), but probably the only time it's happened in this context (Remember, this Hank and Jan are from a timeline where he ''never'' hit her, one only brought about by time going a bit crazy at that point).

* While perhaps a bit {{Narm}}, watching Scarlet Witch's minor FreakOut after seeing what happens to her and Vision if reality gets restored to its proper state. Vision has to be the one to cool her down, like only someone who loves another person from all their heart would. This is also made all the more poignant because what happened to her in ''Comicbook/AvengersDisassembled'', about a year after this story, was for the very same reason.

* While perhaps a bit {{Narm}}, watching Vision's minor FreakOut after seeing what happens to him and Scarlet Witch if reality gets restored to its proper state. Wanda has to be the one to cool him down, like only someone who loves another person from all their heart would. This is also made all the more poignant because what happened to her in ''Comicbook/AvengersDisassembled'', about a year after this story, was for the very same reason.

** This was a year or two before the ''ComicBook/WinterSoldier'' storyline, so to the best of Steve's knowledge, Bucky is dead. And it's made even worse by the fact that Robin is technically the DC Counterpart to Bucky. And ''Under the Hood'' also happened around the same time.
