* [[spoiler: Treize's]] death got me misty eyed. The way he went down with such grace really had me about as emotionally tinged as [[spoiler: Wufei.]]

* [[spoiler: Heero]]'s WorldOfCardboardSpeech to [[spoiler: Wufei]] in ''Endless Waltz'' made me tear up. Specially when [[spoiler: in a small and soft voice, almost a whisper, he asks Wufei "how many times will I have to kill that girl and her dog ''again''?]] Heero isn't my favorite character, but that endeared me to him a ''lot''.

* I can't be the only one who cried at [[spoiler: Otto]]'s death, huh? "LONG LIFE [[spoiler: KING ZECHS]]!", indeed.

* Gavane Goonny's death. When you consider that he was about to marry Sochie the very next day, he goes off on a night-time raid to acquire some newly uncovered Moonrace technology out in the mountains. He and his Borjarnon (Zaku II) team find the tech, but don't realize that the are ACTUAL ARMED NUKES that will detonate at the slightest disruption. After a battle with the Moonrace suits, Loran tells everyone on the area to run away as far as possible, but Gavane was underground and unable to hear Loran's message. Gavane manages to set off one of the nukes by mistake right before sunrise... Cue a tearful Sochie in her wedding dress in the following scene.

* During the fight between Wing Gundam Fenice and Star Build Strike, you see a flashback of Fellini playing and battling with Fenice ever since his childhood, and Fenice's evolution from a standard gunpla into it's current AceCustom form. It's enough to bring a [[ManlyTears Manly Tear]] to your eye.
* Mao crying on a riverbank after [[spoiler: losing to Sei and Reiji]]. Made worse by the fact that it's ''[[{{Keet}} Mao]].''
* Fellini's face when [[spoiler:a berserker Aila is destroying his Fenice after Fellini had lost and couldn't do anything to stop her. It is made worse as we saw what they went through from episode 15.]]
** Speaking of which, what happens to [[spoiler: Aila]] in the same episode as above. [[spoiler: Already upset that her next opponents would be Reiji and Sei, the aforementioned MindRape drives her to a mental meltdown. As if that wasn't bad enough, the look on her face when she sees Reiji with her cracked helmet.]] After having found new enjoyment and new friends, it's crystal clear that [[spoiler:Aila]] is terrified that she's going lose it all, including her own mind.
* The above moment gets even worse in the next episode which opens up with [[spoiler: Reiji, not realizing that she wasn't in control of her actions, hatefully yelling and berating her]]. The reactions she has during this scene are practically ''soul-crushing''.
** Aila's life up to Episode 21 is nothing but this. [[spoiler:It's revealed that Aila was an impoverished orphan who only garnered attention due to her ability to predict outcomes for Gunpla battles. Any sign of care Nine showed to her during his scouting trip disappears after she is recruited. Being seen as nothing more than a tool for Team Nemesis to win Gunpla battles, she was pressed to being a subject for the Embody System, a dangerous, illegal system that increases reaction time at the cost of consciousness and mental well-being. And it's not like she has much say in the matter, as Nine threatens to toss her out in the streets if she refuses to follow Nemesis' orders. Thank God Sei and Reiji got her out of this living hell by the end of Episode 21.]]

** Aila's life up to Episode 21 is nothing but this. [[spoiler:It's revealed that Aila was an impoverished orphan who only garnered attention due to her ability to predict outcomes for Gunpla battles. * Dunno about you guys, but I felt real bad for [[spoiler: both Garma and Iserina. Garma's death scene was ''really'' tragic, and Iserina's useless RoaringRampageOfRevenge wasn't much better. ]]

The entire ''{{Gundam}}'' franchise is full of moments that will have you [[TearJerker reaching for the tissue box...]]

*** The pilot in Evolve is actually [[spoiler: another Puru clone]]. Considering GundamUnicorn features [[spoiler: a grown-up clone]] too, and they weren't all shown to be destroyed at the end of ZZ.

[[spoiler:After a very last, gruelling battle, Domon tops his Master out, only to find out that he wasn't really as much as an SOB that he thought he was, he was misguided by his mistake to be absorbed in Gundam Fights that ravaged the Planet Earth and that everyone only cared about the Fights, not the planet. And then, Master reveals that he still retained his honor, not infecting himself with the DG Cells. Finally, for one last time, master and disciple recite the motto of School of Touhou Fuhai (''Look, the East is burning REEEEDDD!!!''), and Master Asia finally perishes after finishing the reciting, followed with a very crushing cry of Domon... ''[[SayMyName "SHISHOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!"]]'']]
* And [[spoiler: Domon crying the epithome of ManlyTears as he's forced to kill [[CainAndAbel his once-hated, now-again-beloved older brother Kyouji]] to [[ShootTheDog free him (and his clone, Schwarz Bruder) from the Devil Gundam...]] Once it sinks that Kyouji ''never'' was really to blame since he was BrainwashedAndCrazy, and that he used his last bits of sanity to create Schwarz Bruder and [[MustMakeAmends try fixing whar went so utterly wrong]]... the ''"NIIIIIISAAAAAAAAN!"'' is a slap to the face for both Domon ''and'' us watchers.]]
** The worst part is right as [[spoiler: Domon is about perform the Erupting God Sekiha Tenkyoken.]] If you look closely, [[spoiler: you can see what look like tears forming in the God Gundam's eyes.]]
* Don't forget the death of [[spoiler: Dr Mikamura, killed for becoming TheAtoner after realizing [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone how all of his sins destroyed the Kasshu family and made his little girl Rain suffer as well]].]] The guy's FamousLastWords don't help.
* Also the very final episode is... depending on the viewer's opinion either a {{TearJerker}} or a [[{{NarmCharm}} hilarious scene.]] At the very least it is very impressive, when [[spoiler: Domon saves Rain and they use the Love-Love Sekiha Tenkyoken together]]
* The final moments of [[spoiler:Master Asia]] in ''[[Anime/MobileFighterGGundam G Gundam]]''. The Kyoji moment may have help build it up. It only becomes even more poignant if you understand the true meaning of [[spoiler:the word "shishou"]]. Apparently, [[spoiler:it doesn't just mean "master" but refers to someone's first teacher, who they hold in very high regard for life no matter how far they advance, even if they transcend their master utterly. Thus adding another layer to Master Asia's surprise when he says to Domon: "after all this you still call me master?"]]
* A more subtle one: Chico and Gina Rodriguez's backstories. Yeah, the Tequila Gundam is ''very'' stereotypical, but the pilot and his IllGirl sister's [[BreakTheCutie story of sickness, poverty and desolation]] is ''very'' sad.
* [[NeverGotToSayGoodbye Saette and Rain]]. That's all.
* And when [[spoiler: Rain]] decides to leave after learning the truth about [[spoiler: the Devil Gundam]] and thinking that, since [[spoiler: her dad]] was involved in the whole fuck-up, she can't face [[spoiler: Domon]] anymore? Seeing [[spoiler: Domon]] try to desperately reach for her, only to fail, is ''heartbreaking''.
* A minor one, but deserves mention here: during Allenby and Rain's DesignatedGirlFight, a BrainwashedAndCrazy Allenby is rampaging and looking for Domon. To see the lonely and frightened side of her come completely to the forefront, frantically searching for the only one who can understand her can be heartrending. [[spoiler: Her AnguishedDeclarationOfLove may be the clincher.]]
* The episode where Domon upgrades to the God Gundam - Rain remotely controls the nearly-totaled Shining Gundam to get Domon's battle data to the God Gundam. The scene is both heartwarming and sad, as Domon had been fighting alongside the Shining Gundam for almost a year...

* Don't forget about Kayra Su's death. She was being held hostage by Gyunei in an attempt to defeat Amuro in his Nu Gundam after a battle that resulted in her mobile suit being destroyed but her being capture in the escape. Gyunei warned Amuro not to try anything funny, as he was holding Kayra in the palm of his mobile suit hand, but Amuro mistakenly let loose his fin funnels as a diversion to try stop Gyunei. Gyunei clearly sees what Amuro is doing and hurls Kayra's body into space, blaming Amuro for her death. After Amuro kills Gyunei in the resulting fight, he recovers Kayra's body and brings it aboard the Ra Cailum while shouting at Astionage Medoz (the ship's mechanic and Kayra's lover) to not look. WHAT MAKES THE WHOLE SCENE WORSE IS THAT KAYRA WHISPERED TO ASTIONAGE THAT SHE LOVED HIM BEFORE SHE LAUNCHED(he didn't hear her, sadly), AND THEN ASTIONAGE DIES JUST MINUTES AFTER HER BODY IS RETURNED IN AN EXPLOSION!!!

** It's easy to forget in among all the heroic deaths in episode 49, but the death of [[spoiler:Jerid Messa]] is just depressing. To see a character, even a villainous one, who's been with us since the first episode, who we've learned to sympathise with, die such a pointless, meaningless death, is honestly pretty heartbreaking.

* Given [[CompleteMonster her reputation]], I may be the only one who feels this way, but honestly, Katejina at the end of the very last episode. Due to her brain damage, [[TheOphelia she doesn't remember]] any of the [[MoralEventHorizon horrible stuff she's done]]; she's not raging at the main characters or herself for her current state. Heck, thinking of her adorable conversation with toddler Karlmann, she might as well not even be the same ''person''. She's just a lonely, sad girl on her way to a town she doesn't remember isn't there any more.

* The very first is [[spoiler:Ryu's]] sacrifice to protect White Base, even when he's badly injured. Though, in the TV series version, the aftermath is [[{{Narm}} maybe a bit overdone]] with the whole crew standing at the end, all blaming themselves. (this troper sees great similarities to [[spoiler: Lockon's]] death in 00, when everyone blames him-/herself - and here ''all'' of them are guilty, they couldn't even put [[spoiler:Ryu]] into a room and keep the damn thing locked)

* This tropers' in the minority [[spoiler: but Kishiria Zabi's death never fails to make her scream 'FUCK YOU CHAR!'. Say what you will, she was a pretty awesome gal and killing her served no purpose other than to satisfy Char's self-righteous vendetta.]]
** I guess that her being an evil, fascist dictator doesn't really affect your view either?
* For some reason, [[spoiler:the destruction of ''White Base'' really got this troper. That ship was their home from the destruction of the first colony. No matter how fierce the battle, whether it was in space or on Earth, and what comrades they lost, they always returned there. To see them floating outside and watch it break into fiery pieces... well]].

** That scene was such a tearjerker, ThisTroper had been spoiled and knew it was coming, and STILL felt completely wrenched as the final music played.

* Given [[CompleteMonster her reputation]], I may be the only one who feels this way, but honestly, Katejina at the end of the very last episode. Due to her brain damage, [[TheOphelia she doesn't remember]] any of the [[MoralEventHorizon horrible stuff she's done]]; she's not raging at the main characters or herself for her current state. * [[Tropers/{{Orihime}} I]] still consider Katejina a bad, bad bitch... but it doesn't mean I don't get what you're saying. Damn, I sometimes find myself wishing that things did not go like this... more exactly, that Katejina had not gone as low as she did., so she could have been redeemed even if it was through death.

*** [[spoiler:I think that bit is the single most important thing in the series relating to Ghinius. It gives his actions some depth and reasoning, arguably taking him from a selfish JerkAss to a deeply traumatized man clinging dearly to the last piece of meaning and worth in his life. And seeing him spend the rest of the episode in downright ''agony'' is absolutely gut-wrenching for This Troper.]]

* The final episode punched this troper in the stomach when [[spoiler: Bernie dies trying to save the colony from a nuke that’s already been stopped, fighting against his romantic interest Christina without either of them knowing it, and almost manages to win the duel despite being hopelessly outclassed piloting a repaired and poorly armed Zaku against her new SuperPrototype Gundam, with his death unfolding right in front of Al, a boy who had looked up to him like a kid brother. Then there's Bernie's last video, and the new school ceremony]] …the whole of episode 6 makes me cry, in short.

* The final moments of [[spoiler: Master Asia]] in ''[[Anime/MobileFighterGGundam G Gundam]]'' is the one and only thing in all the {{Gundam}} franchise (all of Sunrise really) that has actually brought this troper to tears. The Kyoji moment may have help build it up. This troper has seen almost all of the Gundam series and many Sunrise shows.
** This troper agrees, and it only became even more poignant when he realised the true meaning of [[spoiler: the word "shishou."]] Apparently, [[spoiler: it doesn't just mean "master" but refers to someone's first teacher, who they hold in very high regard for life no matter how far they advance, even if they transcend their master utterly. Thus adding another layer to Master Asia's surprise when he says to Domon: "after all this you still call me master?"]]

* This troper got a little misty-eyed during the fallout of [[spoiler: Trowa's 'death, especially because she didn't know he wasn't dead.]]
* This troper, meanwhile, cried when [[spoiler:Quatre passed out from being stabbed in the stomach by Dorothy. At the time, I'd been so convinced he'd died!]]
** "How unfortunate... a woman who cannot cry." ''She'' might not be able to, but ''I'' can!
*** I cried not only for [[spoiler: Quatre]], but for [[spoiler: *Dorothy*]] too. [[spoiler: When the RichBitch reveals her BrokenBird true self and ''does'' cry once Trowa leaves with Quatre, hugging her helmet...]] waaaaah.
**** Dorothy was TearJerker material a bit earlier, when she shreds her MagnificentBitch facade [[CryCute and panics]] after [[spoiler: Zechs]] decides [[spoiler: to reject Treize's peace offer and blast his mobile suit.]]. This is the first time that she ''ever'' shows raw and real emotions without bothering to restrain them (like when [[spoiler: Duke Dermail]] died and she was shocked for a while, then recovered and [[spoiler: used it for a RousingSpeech]]) and ''begs'' him to not do that, going as far as [[spoiler: screaming a BigNo and struggling with Zechs while still pleading for Treize's life]] - that struck a chord in me.

* Not even ''ZZ'' is free of tear jerkers, despite its beginnings. [[spoiler: Cecilia's HeroicSacrifice, which her old boyfriend Torres never knew about since Judau, who *did* know, didn't have the heart to tell him? Leina's fiery "death" and Judau's ''creepy'' HeroicBSOD after that? Emily's death and the destruction of the La Vie En Rose? Hayato's HeroicSacrifice? Princess Sarasa's death, which emotionally crushes her boyfriend Mondo? Puru Two's death after her HeelFaceTurn? ]]
