Main characters and other positive characters always have healthy sex lives. They might go through long periods of not being in a relationship (they may even be HollywoodDateless) during which they may [[EthicalSlut have a lot of good sex anyway]] or [[CelibateHero not]]. But when they are in one, the sex is frequent and good (unless the relationship is near its end).

A corollary is that when villains have sex, it tends to be quick and emotionless. It will often be treated as an act of self-gratification and only the dominant villain will emerge with their desire sated. When heroes make love, it tends to be caring and passionate, with both parties emerging satisfied. This difference can be cause for a SexFaceTurn for a dissatisfied villain.

Of course, this trope applies mainly to experienced adults. For most teenage characters, even and sometimes especially heroes, any on-screen mention of sex will end in awkwardness at best, tragedy at worst. See TheirFirstTime.

Only laughingstock old guys ever need Viagra. In the days before such drugs existed, male impotence was generally perceived as a trait of villains. Impotence leads to insanity, which leads to evil actions, as with GeneralRipper in ''Film/DrStrangelove'' or ''Film/TheManWithTheGoldenGun''.

In many settings, only characters of questionable morality have "[[BondageIsBad weird]]" sexual preferences. For really old-fashioned settings, this may even include [[DepravedHomosexual gays]] and [[PsychoLesbian lesbians]].

This excludes {{Very Special Episode}}s, pleading for tolerance, and series which intentionally include such preferences to be "edgy". Of course, in the latter, most characters have questionable morality anyway.

Note that this idea of "good sex" is sometimes only held by the sympathetic protagonist, who meets humorless people who [[SexIsEvil consider sexual pleasure as depraved]] and define "good sex" (or [[Literature/NineteenEightyFour "goodsex"]]) by its absence.

Justified in that one of the primary traits associated with 'good people' is empathy, which definitely ''can'' lead to better sex in real life. That being said though, real-life sex is never as [[IdealizedSex pretty as in the movies]].

May lead to BabiesEverAfter, though the narrative needn't include the sexual aspect in order to feature that trope.

* In Japanese media, it's not uncommon for a character to state that a boy's interest in girls marks him as a normal, healthy boy. A couple of times in ''VisualNovel/IfMyHeartHadWings'' someone says this of the protagonist; tellingly, the second time is Aoi [[SuspiciouslySpecificDenial saying this of himself]] after he is MistakenForGay.
* Played with in ''Manga/UbelBlatt''. Glenn was a DirtyCoward in the past and is a major antagonist, but he seems genuinely heroic after [[spoiler:his resurrection]] and accordingly has ([[EverybodyHasLotsOfSex a lot of]]) sex that his partners greatly enjoy, but he remains TheStoic throughout it. Meanwhile, [[AmbitionIsEvil Lebellont]] [[spoiler:rapes peasant women to conceive new children and invites his allies to do the same]], but only after the loss of [[spoiler:almost]] all of his children and a spiral into insanity caused by isolation, massive burn trauma and having to face his own villainy. ** DoubleSubversion in the manga. It takes [[spoiler:Casca]] and [[spoiler:Guts]] at least one try before they can make sweet, sweet love without one of them having a bad bout of temporary insanity caused by post-traumatic stress from childhood sexual abuse. Still, their moment is the only instance of sex in the series so far that wasn't either AttemptedRape, [[NearRapeExperience near-rape]], [[RapeAsDrama actual rape]], [[HornyDevils demon rape]], [[APartyAlsoKnownAsAnOrgy a pagan orgy]], [[NauseaFuel just plain sick]], or done out of [[ForTheEvulz spite]], [[BandOfBrothels money]], [[AnythingThatMoves lust]], or [[SexForSolace pity]]. Not to mention that [[spoiler: Guts and Casca]] resolved all of their then-current inner troubles through IntimatePsychotherapy.
** Played straight in the TV show and movie, in which [[spoiler: Guts and Casca]] have passionate, uninterrupted sex, taken up a notch in that the two have very good non-verbal communication cues when expressing their wants during their first time. In fact, this trope is yet another facet of showing how much [[RedOniBlueOni Guts and Griffith contrast with one another]]. Earlier, Griffith is shown taking [[spoiler:Princess Charlotte's]] virginity, but Griffith only initiates the act in order to gratify his angst over losing Guts, and so the sex is pretty emotionless between the two of them. In the afterglow, Griffith is seen sitting apart from a sleeping [[spoiler:Charlotte]], clawing at himself and crying. In contrast, [[spoiler: Guts has sex with Casca out of love and so their intercourse is brimming with emotion. * ''Final Yamato'' was, until 2009, the last chapter of the ''Anime/SpaceBattleshipYamato'' saga. It concludes with the long-awaited wedding of the OfficialCouple, followed ''immediately'' (in the theatrical version) by a tearfully passionate, tender sex scene.
* Subverted in ''Manga/FutariEcchi''. The main characters, both still virgins at the beginning, have to actually learn how to have good sex over time. TheirFirstTime is extremely awkward and PlayedForLaughs.
** In one chapter, the protagonists Makoto and Yura during a trip to hot springs meet with a young couple that looks up to them regarding the development of love relationship. Makoto and Yura, of course, feel proud of this. But later, when Makoto and Yura accidentally find the young couple having sex in the hot springs bath, they almost get an inferiority complex when they find out how that young couple is so much better at sex than them.
* ''Manga/HisAndHerCircumstances'' spruced up its one and only sex scene by having flowers cover everything.
* In ''Manga/KazeToKiNoUta'', the rape scenes are gritty, shocking, and clearly show the characters' pain. In contrast, anything with Serge and Gilbert tends to be loving, tender... and surrounded by a lot of flowers.
* Arguably deconstructed in ''Anime/{{Kemonozume}}'', where good guys Toshihiko and Yuka have extremely good sexual chemistry and would ''really'' like to get it on. The only problem is they can't because Yuka keeps transforming into a huge flesh-eating monster when she's turned on.
* The heroines in ''Anime/{{Mnemosyne}}'' spend their free time having sexy lesbian encounters. The villains' preferred pastime involves ropes, sharp objects[[note]]including spears, daggers, and piercings in very painful places[[/note]], and innards.
* In ''Anime/{{Monster}}'', when Eva has flashbacks of Roberto, he is shown as an utterly repulsive pig slobbering all over her body. In contrast, Helenka and Schubert's loving sex scene is gentle and emotive.
* ''Manga/SensualPhrase'' has ''many'' sex scenes, and several of them are highly enjoyable for the people involved. Although Sakuya's [[TroubledButCute goodness]] is rather questionable, he ''is'' great in bed, and he plays the trope straighter after [[spoiler:he and Aine get married]].
* This is one of the major precepts in the work of Creator/TanakaYutaka, especially with regard to emotional honesty, open communication, and its ilk.
* When [[spoiler:Madoka and Kyōsuke]] ''finally'' sleep together in ''Shin Manga/KimagureOrangeRoad'', it's a mix of this and TheirFirstTime, as well as very sweet and gentle [[spoiler: despite Kyōsuke's initial doubts about how selfless he is or not. Madoka reassures him that it'll be okay and also wonders if her and Kyōsuke's kids would be esper like him, and after some more chat while naked, Kyōsuke pulls the covers off Madoka and they have sex]].
* [[spoiler: Makie and Renzaburo]] in ''Anime/WickedCity''. Their sexual encounter is extremely sweet, paused, and slow, especially compared with all the rape and FanDisservice that has been going on. [[spoiler: Doubles as GladToBeAliveSex as they both have ''barely'' survived an attack from the local demonic DarkActionGirl -- who's the same woman that Renzaburou himself had sex with in the beginning.]] The trope is even more enforced when the viewer realizes that theirs is the only sex scene that is fully pleasant and, more importantly, '''consensual''' - i.e., [[spoiler: Renzaburou had been tricked into sexing up the DarkActionGirl since she was a HoneyTrap, and Makie had been violently gang-raped a few scenes ago]].
* [[spoiler: Takao Itou and Sara Uchida]] have sex in the third ''Manga/KaseiYakyoku'' OAV; it's an emotional, romantic, tender moment, with a beautiful song as background music. [[spoiler: It contrasts with both of them having been sexually abused in the past: Taka was almost raped as a teenager by [[MrsRobinson a beautiful older woman]] who then was ''[[HonorRelatedAbuse killed in front of him by her husband]]'', while Sara barely escaped from being gang-raped by {{yakuza}}.]]
* Daisuke from ''Resort Boin'', who goes from being on a vacation to a tropical island to sightsee women to end up having sexual escapades with six gorgeous women by generally being the nice guy. He helps each of the girls out as their main assistant for any agenda they have on the duration of his vacation, he ends up being a [[ChivalrousPervert protective yet perverted]] badass with a heart of gold [[DeclarationOfProtection who kicks anyone's ass for messing with them]] (ask Nao and Mika). Then he's rewarded with hot consensual lovemaking that would make Film/JamesBond jealous.
* Zigzagged all over the way in ''Manga/SakuraGari''. Souma Saiki is not only [[PrettyBoy unearthly gorgeous]] but he [[HighClassCallGirl is very good in bed]] and often gets pretty nice "action" from his sexual partners in return (with Watase [[FanService offering us all kinds of details]]), but while not outright evil, [[BrokenAce the man has VERY serious issues]]. And said partners either [[DysfunctionJunction have their own problems]] or [[FatalAttractor get hit with misfortune]] [[SoBeautifulItsACurse because of Souma.]]
** Not to mention, the very kind and softspoken Masataka [[spoiler: ''never'' really gets "good sex" since he's sexually abused by both Souma and Katsuragi... until the end of the manga, where his and Souma's IntimatePsychotherapy session is very gentle and loving, and it comes as catharsis after a good part of their issues are resolved]].
* ''LightNovel/ChivalryOfAFailedKnight'': [[spoiler:The protagonists, Ikki and Stella finally have sweet tender sex for the first time on volume 9, and end up using ''all ten'' of the condoms Stella had prepared]].
* Inverted in ''LightNovel/TheMasterOfRagnarokAndBlesserOfEinherjar''. Yuuto is a ChasteHero and AboveTheInfluence all the time while Lopthir and Sigyn are continuously shown later to have a lot of passionate time, even a bed scene in the 8th episode.
* Inverted with ''Manga/MagicalGirlSpecOpsAsuka'', the BigBad "Queen" and her loyal henchwoman [[PsychoLesbian Abby]] have an extremely satisfying sex life. Meanwhile, protagonist Asuka is ObliviousToLove, while Kurumi, the girl who has the most obvious hots for her, has some [[{{Yandere}} major screws loose in her head]] and is a big fan of [[TortureTechnician torture, including sexual torture]].
* The anime of ''LightNovel/RecordOfGrancrestWar'' contrasts Theo and Siluca's emotional, satisfying lovemaking with Marrine's passionless bartering of her virginity by placing those scenes in the same episode. This may not have been a good stylistic choice: fans complained that having seen the latter [[BrainBleach made them less able]] to enjoy the former.
* The 13th volume of ''LightNovel/LordMarksmanAndVanadis'' starts with Elen as Greast's prisoner and enduring captivity and an AttemptedRape from him. When she is eventually rescued by Tigre, she confesses to him how terrified she was during her ordeal, which leads into a mutual LoveConfession, and they make love that night.
* ''LightNovel/SwordArtOnline'' has Kirito and Asuna enjoying their marital privileges after [[SexForSolace barely surviving a harrowing assassination attempt.]] Unlike most examples, the reason TheirFirstTime [[IdealizedSex goes so well]] is actually justified because it is noted that in Aincrad, the game system ends up muting or at least downplaying the less enjoyable aspects of sex. The ''Sugary Days'' short story series also indicates they [[InsatiableNewlyweds made good use of their honeymoon time.]] Contrast this with the multiple villains throughout the series who can't seem to stop sexually assaulting almost every cute girl they see.
** Meanwhile, inverted in ''LightNovel/SwordArtOnlineAlternativeGunGaleOnline'' where the one confirmed sexually active couple in the series, [[spoiler: Kanzaki Elza a.k.a. Pitohui and Asogi Goushi a.k.a. M]] are quite the hedonist and masochist, respectively. Main character Kohiruimaki Karen a.k.a. LLENN reacts pretty badly when [[spoiler: Elza kisses her]], while Shinohara Miyu a.k.a. Fukaziroh likes lots of boys in real life but can never seem to make her relationships last beyond the first date.
* In ''Anime/CrossAnge'', we get the contrast of the sick creeper Embryo is when he uses his powers to force Ange to strip and masturbate before him, and then later tortures her by increasing her body's sensitivity to the point that she can barely move and function without being aroused, all in an effort to break her into becoming his wife. In stark contrast after she has escaped his clutches, when she encounters Tusk again, who she thought had died saving her from Embryo, this hard-as-nails warrior princess swiftly tackles him to the ground and proceeds to mount and ravish him to confirm [[GladToBeAliveSex he's really there with her and not some weird illusion]]. And later according to Tusk, they went at it for three days and nights.

* In Creator/JossWhedon's last arc of ''ComicBook/AstonishingXMen'', before the X-Men make their final stand against the Breakworld, [[Characters/XMen70sMembers Colossus]] [[HeroicBSOD is overwhelmed]] by [[ApocalypseMaiden the position he finds himself in]], as he is supposedly prophesied to destroy the Breakworld. While he and [[Characters/MarvelComicsKittyPryde Kitty Pryde]] are granted shelter by a renegade "pacifist" Breakworlder, as they prepare for bed Kitty [[DistractedByTheSexy distracts Colossus]] from his emotional turmoil by standing before him completely naked. The next issue we see them in afterglow, and going by the conversation it was very good:

* ''Goddess'' saw villains, anti-heroes, and... pretty much everyone having a strange kink or three.
* Comicbook/{{Empowered}} and Thugboy. It greatly helps in building up her self-esteem.
* Taken to extremes in the ''ComicBook/{{Preacher}}'' graphic novels. The main character, Jesse Custer, prefers having sex with his pretty, blonde girlfriend on the hood of a Cadillac -- or in the driver's seat of a stolen hot-rod during a police pursuit. Meanwhile, virtually all of the villains are either sexual perverts to a ridiculous degree, gay, bisexual, or at least French. Or some combination thereof.
* Done to a similar degree in ''ComicBook/TheBoys'', another Creator/GarthEnnis work. One thing the villainous supers tend to have in common is their willingness to have sex with just about anyone [[DepravedBisexual regardless of gender]] or ''[[BestialityIsDepraved species]]'' (not that it stops them from being homophobes); half the time they are seen having sex with prostitutes/each other. One of the main characters, Billy Butcher and his CIA boss, Veronica Rayner, are in something akin to a sexual relationship, though that is fueled entirely by mutual loathing and the sex is loud, profane and vitriolic. However, the sex scenes between Butcher and his late wife Becky are depicted much more positively. Pretty much the only characters in a regular happy sexual relationship are Hughie and Annie.
* [[Characters/SpiderManPeterParker Spider-Man]] gets in on the act as well, but zig-zag it a bit in that Peter Parker and [[Characters/MarvelComicsMaryJaneWatson Mary Jane]] are shown to be [[PowerPerversionPotential quite kinky]]. Also, in another instance when Peter is working with the Characters/{{Black Cat|MarvelComics}} Felicia makes the comment "I swear, if you weren't so good in bed, you'd be useless" to which Peter says [[CluelessChickMagnet "I was]] [[AccidentalPornomancer good in bed?"]]. The same Felicia thinks Peter Parker is the best man she ever been with, also in the biblical sense. After he and Mary Jane get back together when [[ComicBook/TheAmazingSpiderManNickSpencer Nick Spencer began his run on the title]], their first scene together as a couple is them waking up in bed together, half-dressed.
* An example can be found in ''{{Franchise/Superman}}'', of all places. After Clark Kent and [[Characters/SupermanLoisLane Lois Lane]] finally got together, it was made abundantly clear[[note]]probably as a deliberate TakeThat to the "Man of Steel, Woman of Kleenex" essay written by Larry Niven [[ItAmusedMe for the lulz]][[/note]] that they ''can't stop'' having sex with each other.
* [[AvertedTrope Averted]] all over the place in ''ComicBook/{{Watchmen}}'', though this is possibly due to the [[DysfunctionJunction moral ambiguity of all the characters]]. Nevertheless:
** The first costumed hero, Hooded Justice, is implied to be a) homosexual and b) an S&M enthusiast, though there is a subtle hint in the artwork of one issue that implies that he settled into a stable and loving relationship with another man later in life, thus playing this trope straight. ** The first female costumed adventurer, Silhouette, was a lycra-clad lesbian femdom with a horsewhip.
** Of all the protagonists, Dan Dreiberg (or Nite Owl II) is the closest thing to a truly upstanding, moral idealist in the whole piece, and he has a costume fetish; the first time he and Laurie go at it, he can't get it up at all.
*** His self-esteem is also pretty low at that point. After he and Laurie have gone out and saved people from a burning building, he really feels able to enjoy himself (though he admits the costumes do add a thrill).
** The first Silk Spectre has an affair with the man who savagely beat and tried to rape her, leading to an interesting discussion of the emotional implications of rape [[spoiler: and its impact on Laurie's parentage, but that's neither here nor there]].
** Rorschach may actually be a straight example, as he [[CelibateHero doesn't have sex at all]] and has a firm SexIsEvil stance (there's a hint he may be a repressed homosexual), and it's clear he isn't [[SociopathicHero a good person]].
*** It may also have to do with the fact that he first glimpses and notions of sex come from his mother - a prostitute who didn't care if he saw and was emotionally abusive to him.
** Likewise, Ozymandias doesn't see much personal need for a sexual relation and is more or less asexual. He lacks the SexIsEvil mindset, however.
** Finally, Doctor Manhattan, the only superpowered being in the series uses his powers in the most "interesting" ways during intercourse in hopes of exciting Laurie. Not only does it end up [[{{Squick}} squicking]] her out but he knew it was inevitable. Since he is mostly without emotion and is more concerned with the nature of science, it makes sense that his sex scene is both fascinating and lifeless.
* Quarrel and Crackerjack from ''ComicBook/AstroCity'' have a very vigorous and enthusiastic sex life. Crackerjack also ReallyGetsAround, but Quarrel doesn't mind.
* According to [[ComicBook/GreenArrow Roy Harper]], Kendra Saunders (Hawkgirl III) is the best lay he's had, beating out FemmeFatale [[Characters/TeenTitansCheshire Cheshire]].
* In ''ComicBook/CastlevaniaTheBelmontLegacy'', Christopher Belmont passionately consummates his nuptial night with his wife Illyana while Sona Bartley provides her body for the main villain Dracula's pleasure, who is otherwise cold and unfeeling since he views her as his servant and not his bride.
* Zig-zagged in the case of [[ComicBook/{{Batwoman}} Kate Kane]]. In dedicated relationships, she and her partners are shown or described having fulfilling, intense sex. When Kate was more into one-night stands, however, the sex is not particularly remarkable. Kate also enjoys being tied up.
* Inverted with Corvus Glaive and Proxima Midnight of [[Characters/MarvelComicsBlackOrder Black Order]], who are a pair of genocidal killers, each with kill counts measured in ''planets'', but are nonetheless a HappilyMarried [[UnholyMatrimony villain couple]] who make no effort to hide that they have highly compatible sex drives and have sex daily if they can, and notably get frustrated if separated for a long period of time.

* ''Fanfic/AdviceAndTrust'': After fighting Leliel, Shinji and Asuka had vanilla, passionate sex as often as possible. In contrast, Ritsuko and Gendo's relationship, while physically pleasurable, was entirely devoid of anything resembling love or passion.
* ''Fanfic/BeyondTheDawn'', a huge fic inspired by ''Literature/TheSilmarillion'', contains very tender and poetically depicted love scenes between Beren&Luthien. On the contrary, one of the prominent enemies, mighty orc Boldog, is a real motherfucker. Literally.
* ''Fanfic/CabinFeverPartingShot'': Subverted. Marcy is the ''[[ReallyGetsAround 'loose']]'' [[AllGuysWantSororityWomen sorority girl]], yet most of her sex scenes are portrayed as being profoundly satisfying, life-affirming and occasionally moments of [[CharacterDevelopment Character Growth]]. Meanwhile, Karen, the ostensible [[NiceGirl Good Girl]], has one sexual encounter implied to be sleazy, pointless, and regrettable. However, Karen's behavior on the night in question was an [[AlcoholInducedIdiocy unusual contrast]] to her typical [[NiceGirl Good Girl]] sensibility. Also, Marcy's sexual encounters weren't all good; namely, when a sensual TwoPersonPoolParty [[AThreesomeIsHot unexpectedly becomes a threesome]] [[AttemptedRape against her wishes.]]
* While ''Fanfic/ChildOfTheStorm'' isn't exactly detailed about what kind of sex the characters have, the narration hinting rather than stating, it is quite clear who's having it - and if it's a heroic couple, it's usually good.
** Jane and Thor seem to be fairly vanilla (except in location. No couch is safe, apparently) and both parties seem to enjoy it. A lot. Regularly. [[AmazinglyEmbarrassingParents To Harry's disgust.]]
** Wanda and Harry Dresden are also implied to have a very active sex life, though how vanilla it is or isn't is up to the imagination.
** Tony and Pepper also have a lot of what seems to be very fulfilling sex, at a contrast to his prior history of one-night stands, and it's implied to be rather kinkier than most of the rest of the cast.
** By distinct contrast, [[spoiler: Yelena Belova's molestation of the Red Son a.k.a. a BlankSlate of Harry]] is played for {{Squick}} and then purest horror when [[RapeIsASpecialKindOfEvil its full extent becomes apparent.]]
* The last few episodes of ''Fanfic/ChildrenOfTime'' contain a lot of sexual themes and situations... Sally Watson nee Sparrow conceives inside [[Series/DoctorWho the TARDIS]], giving birth to [[ChekhovsGunman a baby with Time Lord DNA]]. [[TheDragon Colonel Moran]] [[AttemptedRape nearly rapes]] seventeen-year-old [[RecklessSidekick Beth Lestrade]], and Professor Moriarty threatens to do the same much later on when he has Beth BoundAndGagged. Special attention is paid to the [[Literature/SherlockHolmes Sherlock and Beth]] as they [[InsatiableNewlyweds enjoy their brief honeymoon]], with lovemaking scenes that are, on the whole, very affectionate and passionate (and add to the CharacterDevelopment of their marriage).

* ''Film/RedSparrow'': Dominika and Nate sleep together twice over the course of the film. These are the only sexual acts in the film that are even properly consensual, never mind passionate.
* In ''Film/RevengeOfTheNerds'', the nerdy Lewis wins the heart of [[AllGuysWantCheerleaders Betty]] by [[BedTrick disguising himself as her boyfriend]] [[BlackComedyRape and giving her good sex]]. * The {{Dystopia}} of ''Literature/NineteenEightyFour'' has the Party's aim of eliminating all sexual pleasure and eventually make sexual intercourse itself obsolete ''even for procreation''... so that all that sexual repression and frustration can be channeled into hatred for Eurasia/Eastasia.
* Scheherazade in the ''Literature/ArabianNights''. While the Sultan wasn't a ''good'' person (indeed he recognizably acted like a stereotypical serial killer), Sheherazade was a noble and heroic woman as well as being [[GuileHero skillful.]]
* ''Literature/AtlasShrugged'', being an AuthorTract written by Ayn Rand, treats this as a WriterOnBoard issue: [[StrawCharacter Strawman Socialists]] can't help but believe that SexIsEvil; Rearden has the misfortune to be married to one of them, so Dagny justifies the consummation of her affair with him by her having experienced a guiltless pleasure greater than anything they could tolerate.
* The {{Dystopia}} in ''Literature/BraveNewWorld'' has casual promiscuity that removes all intimacy from sex.
* Discussed in Meyer's ''[[Literature/{{Twilight}} Breaking Dawn]]''. Despite being a good person ([[InformedAbility sort of]], Edward's rock-hard body, super speed/strength, and vampire instincts cause him to accidentally bruise the still-human Bella on their honeymoon (while biting a few pillows). Bella apparently likes it rough, but Edward feels that not being gentle in bed [[{{Wangst}} makes him a bad person]], tying into his issues with his own violence and his massive self-hatred complex, and refuses to have sex with her again, no matter how much she begs. When she finally convinces him to give it another try, he doesn't give her any more bruises, though he does break the headboard of the bed. Of course, when she is eventually turned, the bruising no longer becomes a problem. The other Cullens also apparently have [[DestructoNookie extremely violent, house-breaking sex]], but they seem to like it.
* In ''Literature/ABrothersPrice'' this is played straight with Jerin, as well as Jerin's grandfather Alannon, whom he remembers fondly; we learn that both he and Jerin's father gave Jerin TheTalk about pleasuring women. It is later revealed that Alannon was trained in some obscure art of lovemaking. All those men are depicted as unambiguously good people.
* In ''{{Literature/Caliphate}}'', Christian slave girl [[TheWoobie Petra]] endures [[RapeAsDrama rape at the hands of her masters]] and gets sold to a brothel where she is subjected to ''even more'' [[DefiledForever degrading and abusive sex]] from the costumers, with the [[SituationalSexuality only comfort]] she finds being with [[AsianHookerStereotype Chinese prostitute]] Ling. When she makes love with [[TheHero Hamilton]] for the first time, not only is it consensual but she dreamily thinks that "He's not as good as Ling, but he's better than any man who's ever had me."
* ''Literature/CaptivePrince'': Damen's sexual prowess is actually part of his nationwide reputation as TheGoodPrince; when he and [[DefrostingIceQueen Laurent]] start to have sex, he takes extra care that Laurent is comfortable and happy. In contrast, the BigBad is a child molester.
* Creator/HarryTurtledove's AlternateHistory body of work is large enough that a common theme has become apparent: the only remotely satisfying sex that occurs is almost inevitably between a husband and wife (and depending on how you feel about his ability to write sex scenes, you may come away with the feeling that even that isn't acceptable). This is played with in ''Literature/TheCaseOfTheToxicSpellDump'', wherein we have a guy who has a satisfying love with his long term girlfriend, although they ''are'' about to get married by the end of the novel.
* The "Bad People Have Bad Sex" aspect of this trope is spoofed in the fictitious play "The Courier's Tragedy" in Thomas Pynchon's ''Literature/TheCryingOfLot49''. In the play, all the villains are [[VillainousIncest incestuous perverts]]. At no point in the novel does anybody have good sex, but they all appear to enjoy what they have. The HandsomeLech is compared, within the text, to [[{{Literature/Lolita}} Humbert Humbert]].
* Standard procedure for all Creator/DanielleSteel novels. In particular, the novel ''Daddy'', where the hero is stunned at how spectacular sex with his new girlfriend is, having thought that his and his ex-wife's sex life was perfect.
* In ''Literature/DanceoftheButterfly'', Skothiam and Lilja develop into a romantic relationship that quickly gets sexual. They also engage in BDSM, and it is all presented in a healthy, mutually-satisfying way.
* In ''Literature/TheDinosaurLords'', whenever Melodía and Jaume are together, they have wonderful sex, whereas more villainous Falk feels no satisfaction when he [[spoiler:rapes a woman]].
* In ''Literature/DoraWilkSeries'', after main character and Miron resolve their WillTheyOrWontThey (TheyDo), they have sex very often, and it's described as good practically always. After [[spoiler:Miron comes back after his absence in book four]], this is true as well.
* Michael and Charity from ''Literature/TheDresdenFiles''. They have seven children (partly because they're devoutly Catholic; the only reason there were no more is the result of what Fake!Harry did to Charity while she was heavily pregnant with number 7) and in "It's My Birthday, Too" we find out that every Valentine's Day their kids have to barricade themselves in their rooms from the noise. Similarly in Creator/JimButcher's other series, Literature/CodexAlera, Tavi and Kitai have plenty of it whenever they have a spare moment. It doesn't help that Kitai sometimes has a one-track mind...
* In John Shirley's ''[[Literature/EclipseTrilogy Eclipse]]'' series, this is very much so -- he at one point has a juxtaposition of good and bad characters' sex scenes to make the point. Of course, the whole series is left-wing political porn seemingly designed to boost spirits (at least) during the Reagan Darkness.
* In the medieval bodice-ripper ''Enchanted'', the heroine has a ParalyzingFearOfSexuality due to having been raped by one of her father's knights and forced into an ArrangedMarriage with another, leading them to have a SexlessMarriage. Until she finally gets over her fears and confesses to him. From then on, they're the epitome of InsatiableNewlyweds.
* Subverted in ''Literature/{{The Guardians|MeljeanBrook}}''; when the angel-human hybrids are adjusting to their new powers and senses, they're encouraged to get it all out of their system. One novice spent 30 years having orgies before he finally grew bored of it. Even mature Guardians aren't above a little PowerPerversionPotential.
* ''Literature/HarryPotter'':
** The HappilyMarried and loving Arthur and Molly Weasley. As Draco Malfoy points out to Ron in the first book, they have more kids than they could afford.
** WordOfGod says [[spoiler:Charlie Weasley]] never got married because [[ConfirmedBachelor he simply was not interested]], so this might be a subversion.
* Richard Littlejohn's ''Hell in a Handcart'': the villains have violent BDSM sex, LesCollaborateurs all masturbate with police truncheons or busts of Karl Marx or copies of the [[UsefulNotes/BritishNewspapers Evening Standard]] (and are [[DepravedHomosexual all]] [[PsychoLesbian universally]] [[UnfortunateImplications gay]]), the {{Sidekick}} has sex, but with a woman he's not fond of, and the protagonist... doesn't have sex at all but just receives random blowjobs from his wife (who has to [[ADateWithRosiePalms make do otherwise with vibrators]]).
* The ''Literature/HonorHarrington'' series by Creator/DavidWeber tends to play this very straight. Honor herself is stated to have ''very'' good sex with both her first love Paul Tankersley and her eventual husband Hamish Alexander. By contrast, Pavel Young, her nemesis of books one to four, is all about dominating and hurting his "partners" (and not in [[CasualKink the fun way]]), which eventually leads to his downfall when TheDogBitesBack. Similarly, Anton Zilwicki and Catherine Montaigne are shown to have a very healthy sex life while Zilwicki's antagonists in the ''Crown Of Slaves'' subseries (co-written by Weber and Creator/EricFlint) are frequently rapists or involved in the "production", sale and/or abuse of sex slaves. Javier Giscard and Eloise Pritchart, despite being officially antagonists in that they are fighting for the People's Republic of Haven, are both unambiguously good people and ''desperately'' in love with each other both physically and emotionally. The one minor subversion of note is the relationship between Victor Cachat and Thandi Palane, also from the ''Crown Of Slaves'' books, for whom the trope becomes "Somewhat Morally Ambiguous People Have ''Amazing'' (and Kinky) Sex".
* Elea and Paikan, the ''very'' HappilyMarried couple in Rene Barjavel's ''The Ice People''. Twice. And the second time is an awful TearJerker because all the scenes with them together are flashbacks [[spoiler: which Elea is letting us see eight hundred thousand years later]].
* The Literature/InDeath series: Big time. ''Witness in Death'' reveals that Richard Draco used rape drugs on a lot of women, filmed the sex acts without the women's knowledge or consent, and when Areena Mansfield had sex with him shortly before his death, all she could express was disgust and disinterest.
* This was very common in the ''Literature/JamesBond'' novels, where Bond himself is of course a ChivalrousPervert, and many of the villains were depicted as perverted, [[DepravedHomosexual psycho homosexuals]], or impotent. One of the few cases where Creator/IanFleming's pop psychology was close to TruthInTelevision is depicting the PsychoForHire Red Grant in ''Literature/FromRussiaWithLove'' as a homicidal maniac incapable of any kind of arousal except for arguably that he gets from killing. There is some link between sociopathy and lack of sex drive which is explicitly part of [[Series/{{Dexter}} some]] [[ComicBook/{{Watchmen}} characters]] and [[Manga/DeathNote would certainly]] explain others.
* In the ''Literature/KateShugak'' novels by Dana Stabenow, Kate's healthy (and satisfying) sex life is always lovingly described, with her enthusiasm occasionally veering into CasualKink territory.
* Used constantly in early Creator/DeanKoontz books. The heroes always have amazing sex (written about at length), while the villains are usually repulsed by sex or (their own!) genitalia.
* Both played straight and averted in the ''Kushiel's Avatar'' and ''Literature/KushielsLegacy'' trilogies. One of the major ideas of the series -- which features an [[PlanetOfHats entire nation]] whose "hat" is kinky sex -- is that the real difference between "good" and "bad" sex isn't kinkiness (the ''heroine'' is a sadomasochist) but rather consent. The good characters care about it. The evil characters don't.
* Creator/MercedesLackey: Good People Have Good Sex, and bad people have bad, ''bad'' sex -- "bad" being defined, [[WriterOnBoard in Lackey's lexicon]], as "anything involving even the suggestion of physical restraint, control, power, or trust". Anyone in a Lackey book who expresses even the faintest hint of interest in consensually tying someone to a bed will inevitably end up torture-slaughtering children for sexual thrills -- in gratuitously, lasciviously graphic detail.
* We don't get any details of what Terisa and Geraden, the OfficialCouple of ''Literature/MordantsNeed'' get up to, but it seems to be fairly vanilla while still being mutually enjoyable. The same goes (again, insofar as we are told) for every other character in the series that is even remotely sympathetic, even ones like [[TheVamp Saddith]] and [[UnholyMatrimony Elega and Prince Kragen]]. The all-out baddies, meanwhile, include a [[{{Sadist}} sexual sadist]], a [[DepravedHomosexual homosexual rapist]] and [[BestialityIsDepraved a man who has sex with animals.]]
* ''Literature/NightWatchSeries'' usually subverts or averts its MoralityTropes, but not this one. Alisa has the best sex of her life with a Light Other, described in very un-kinky fashion. Her Dark Other lover was only willing to engage in sadomasochistic play, and judging by what little was described of it, magic was the only thing that kept it in the "safe" part of SafeSaneAndConsensual.
* In the ''Literature/{{Outlander}}'' series, Jamie and Claire have really good sex. In contrast, evil DepravedBisexual Captain John Randall is incapable of getting hard unless he's beating or torturing the person he's raping. And even then, it's shown that [[SingleTargetSexuality unless the victim is Jamie]], he still might not get hard.
* ''Literature/ParadiseLost'': Creator/JohnMilton delivers a TakeThat to the MoralGuardians of his time by including sex (''a lot'' of sex, according to Eve) in Adam's and Eve's perfect life in Eden. Milton had some very unconventional religious views. ArchangelRaphael tells Adam that the sex life of angels is even better.
* Dominika Egorova, the protagonist of Jason Matthews's ''Literature/RedSparrow'', is trained as a Sparrow, a spy that uses sex to manipulate targets. Whenever she sleeps with a mark, she tends to resort to using the techniques she learned for the sake of her mark, keeping herself completely detached from the act. After she gets into a relationship with CIA agent Nate Nash, however, she is able to indulge her desires and enjoy having sex with him.
* In ''Literature/RedeemingLove'', this is subverted. The novel makes it clear that prostitutes’ experience of sex is not fulfilling either physically or emotionally, no matter their personality or motives. Also, even after they begin to establish a stable relationship, it takes a long time for the married hero and heroine, Michael and Angel, to make love with results that they both consider “good”.
* Every novel by ''Creator/RaymondEFeist'' tends to feature this, and the opposite for his antagonists. Whether its in ''Literature/TheRiftwarCycle'' or ''The Empire Saga'' (co-authored by Jenny Wurts), all of his heroes find their soulmates and have mutually fulfilling sex lives, whereas any villain is ALWAYS a pervert, sadist, rapist, or all three without exception.
** It's even played with in 'Rise of a Merchant Prince' - the protagonist is on Team Hero but he is the sketchiest and most cowardly of the Good Guys. He marries out of obligation, has an awkward and unsatisfactory sex life with his wife, and spends time chasing after femme fatales who are out to trick and take advantage of him. As the series progresses however, due to adversity caused by the plot he grows closer to his wife and as he becomes more traditionally heroic, their marriage improves along with the sex lives.
* The villainous side turns up in ''The Silence of the Girls'' - most of the men in the book are rapists, but the especial {{Jerkass}} Agamemnon ''also'' has a preference for brutal sodomy. [[spoiler:So when Briseis becomes pregnant, the only possible father is Achilles.]]
* Literature/SisterhoodSeries by Creator/FernMichaels: Most certainly played straight with Jack and Nikki, Myra and Charles, and Yoko and Harry. In the book ''Fast Track'', Rena Gold has had sex with Maxwell Zenowicz, and she frankly is disgusted and tired of it by that point.

* Creator/GuyGavrielKay's ''Literature/{{Tigana}}'' is more a case of Free People Have Good Sex: while Tigana is in the grip of two foreign tyrants, the only forms of sex depicted are prostitution, rape, [[BrotherSisterIncest incest]], [[BondageIsBad BDSM]] or [[DistractedByTheSexy sex under false pretenses]]. One Confidant romance makes it quite clear sex happens, which is [[HospitalHottie Takemi's.]] Prior to her final level, she sends a text asking if the cafe will be empty at night, caffeine stimulates the nervous system, and that he probably won't get much sleep that night. At the cafe, she confirms again it's just the two of them, offers to give him a [[DoubleEntendre "thorough examination"]] and leans in to kiss him as [[SexyDiscretionShot the screen fades to black.]] Double points for her English voice actress whose voice drops to a slow and sultry purr as she promises to take her time examining him...
** In contrast, sexual crimes are part and parcel of the bad guys who abuse their power and influence. The very first antagonist is a scumbag teacher of the highest order who hits his male students and molests his female students, including Shiho who is strongly implied to have been raped. The third target is a mob boss who threatens to sell Makoto and her sister into sexual slavery, and his one-scene appearing "girlfriend" is clearly just a floozy who's more enamored with his money. The protagonist himself got in trouble for trying to stop a man from intimidating and assaulting a woman, and in ''[[UpdatedRerelease Persona 5 Royal]]'', [[spoiler: it is also revealed that this same man fathered Goro Akechi after [[ChildByRape raping his prostitute mother]]]].
* Played with ''Videogame/StarWarsTheOldRepublic''. In true Creator/BioWare fashion, less moral characters you can have long-term relationships with jump to the sex sooner, though it's rarely treated as less enjoyable than with more moral ones. If the player is in a long-term relationship with a more moral companion, though, the sex is implied to be amazing for this reason. Probably played straightest with a Male Sith Warrior, who can only romance [[MadeASlave Vette]] (light side romance) if you remove her shock collar, treat her like a person, and (in theory) treat others decently. They're implied to have a rather kinky sex life, but still highly enjoyable. However, romancing Jaesa (dark side only) is mostly physical and focuses on power dynamics.
* Used as a ''buff'' in ''VideoGame/TheElderScrollsVSkyrim.'' If the Dragonborn marries, they can share a bed with their spouse. After sleeping in this bed, they awaken and the game informs the player that "You awaken feeling your Lover's Comfort." This is a buff that allows the Dragonborn to learn skills at a faster rate than normal for a while - in other words, s/he is in such a good mood that it makes leveling up easier.

* ''VisualNovel/FateHollowAtaraxia'' could go so far as to poke fun at this a bit. A bit of exposition in a scenario mentions that each time Shirou and Rin have tried to have sex since the conclusion of the route something has gone completely awry with the situation. The scenario revolves around them finally getting it right and loving every moment of it. Rin's inhibitions disappear to the point she'd rather risk getting pregnant than letting Shirou pull out.
* Inverted near the end of [[spoiler: Shizune]]'s route in ''VisualNovel/KatawaShoujo''. The-Player-as-Hisao gets a scene where they can choose to cheat on her [[spoiler: with her best friend Misha]]. If the player ''does'' cheat: 1) the sex is really uncomfortable and 2) it leads to her BadEnding. Neither enjoys the experience, and it destroys Hisao and [[spoiler: Shizune]]'s relationship as well as [[spoiler: Shizune and Misha's friendship]].
* In ''VisualNovel/{{Melody}}'', every sexual encounter that the protagonist has is a positive and pleasurable experience for all parties involved. Also, the ones between the girls are the same.
* The vast majority of the sex scenes in ''VisualNovel/PrincessWaltz'' are like this. In fact, there's exactly ''one'' sex scene that ''isn't'' like this: the first sex scene between Arata and Chris, which is technically both of them raping each other because a nasty magical side effect skyrocketed their sex drives out of control.
* Believe it or not, ''VisualNovel/SchoolDays'', sometimes: it depends on whether the player themself making good choices or not. If s/he is, Makoto and his girlfriend have very loving and mutually pleasurable sex, such as the sex scene with Sekai at the end of Episode 3, or the sex scene with Kotonoha at the end of Episode 4. The real surprise is that the sex scene between [[spoiler: Ruaha and Kerkan]] can ''also'' come off this way, depending on the player's interpretation and given what you later learn about [[spoiler: Kerkan]]'s true motives.
* Inverted by Shiki Tohno from ''VisualNovel/{{Tsukihime}}'' during Arcueid, Ciel, and Akiha's routes, him being far too rough in one, pressuring the second into anal sex despite the girl being unconvinced, and acting as kind of a JerkAss to the last one. The other routes play the trope straighter, typically characterized by "initial round of sex for [[IntimateHealing a specific purpose]], second round for love"; meaning, ironically, Shiki only plays the trope straight by way of DeusSexMachina. One chapter introduces an unmarried mother who proudly walks down the street with her baby carriage. The "good housewives" who shriek and throw stones at her are said also to have Bad Sex:

* Similarly in Butcher's other series, Literature/CodexAlera, Tavi and Kitai have plenty of it whenever they have a spare moment. It doesn't help that Kitai sometimes has a one-track mind...

* This was very common in the ''Literature/JamesBond'' novels, where Bond himself is of course a ChivalrousPervert, and many of the villains were depicted as perverted, [[DepravedHomosexual psycho homosexuals]], or impotent. One of the few cases where Creator/IanFleming's pop psychology was close to TruthInTelevision is depicting the PsychoForHire Red Grant in ''Literature/FromRussiaWithLove'' as a homicidal maniac incapable of any kind of arousal except for arguably that he gets from killing. There is some link between sociopathy and lack of sex drive which is explicitly part of [[Series/{{Dexter}} some]] [[ComicBook/{{Watchmen}} characters]] and [[Manga/DeathNote would certainly]] explain others.
* Used constantly in early Creator/DeanKoontz books. The heroes always have amazing sex (written about at length), while the villains are usually repulsed by sex or (their own!) genitalia.
* Both played straight and averted in the ''Kushiel's Avatar'' and ''Literature/KushielsLegacy'' trilogies. One of the major ideas of the series -- which features an [[PlanetOfHats entire nation]] whose "hat" is kinky sex -- is that the real difference between "good" and "bad" sex isn't kinkiness (the ''heroine'' is a sadomasochist) but rather consent. The good characters care about it. The evil characters don't.

* The {{Dystopia}} of ''Literature/NineteenEightyFour'' has the Party's aim of eliminating all sexual pleasure and eventually make sexual intercourse itself obsolete ''even for procreation''... so that all that sexual repression and frustration can be channeled into hatred for Eurasia/Eastasia.

* Creator/GuyGavrielKay's ''Literature/{{Tigana}}'' is more a case of Free People Have Good Sex: while Tigana is in the grip of two foreign tyrants, the only forms of sex depicted are prostitution, rape, [[BrotherSisterIncest incest]], [[BondageIsBad BDSM]] or [[DistractedByTheSexy sex under false pretenses]]. Not until the Tiganans prepare to rise up against their dictators is [[http://www.brightweavings.com/ggkswords/andrews.htm "healthy" sex depicted]].
* Creator/HarryTurtledove's AlternateHistory body of work is large enough that a common theme has become apparent: the only remotely satisfying sex that occurs is almost inevitably between a husband and wife (and depending on how you feel about his ability to write sex scenes, you may come away with the feeling that even that isn't acceptable). This is played with in ''Literature/TheCaseOfTheToxicSpellDump'', wherein we have a guy who has a satisfying love with his long term girlfriend, although they ''are'' about to get married by the end of the novel.

* Literature/SisterhoodSeries by Creator/FernMichaels: Most certainly played straight with Jack and Nikki, Myra and Charles, and Yoko and Harry. In the book ''Fast Track'', Rena Gold has had sex with Maxwell Zenowicz, and she frankly is disgusted and tired of it by that point.

* ''Literature/SongAtDawn'': [[spoiler: Dragonetz and Estela]] are blissfully in love and they have ''transcendentally'' good sex. The former is emphasized over anything physical and their foreplay was discussing music.
* In ''Literature/RedeemingLove'', this is subverted. The novel makes it clear that prostitutes’ experience of sex is not fulfilling either physically or emotionally, no matter their personality or motives. Also, even after they begin to establish a stable relationship, it takes a long time for the married hero and heroine, Michael and Angel, to make love with results that they both consider “good”.
* Implied in ''Literature/{{Snuff}}'' with Vimes and Sybil, after the better part of a decade of marriage.
* [[SubvertedTrope Subverted]] in Creator/BentleyLittle's ''University'' (a.k.a. ''The Night School''): The two student protagonists are among the "good" minority on the titular campus. Similarly, Anton Zilwicki and Catherine Montaigne are shown to have a very healthy sex life while Zilwicki's antagonists in the ''Crown Of Slaves'' subseries (co-written by Weber and Creator/EricFlint) are frequently rapists or involved in the "production", sale and/or abuse of sex slaves. Javier Giscard and Eloise Pritchart, despite being officially antagonists in that they are fighting for the People's Republic of Haven, are both unambiguously good people and ''desperately'' in love with each other both physically and emotionally. The one minor subversion of note is the relationship between Victor Cachat and Thandi Palane, also from the ''Crown Of Slaves'' books, for whom the trope becomes "Somewhat Morally Ambiguous People Have ''Amazing'' (and Kinky) Sex".
* We don't get any details of what Terisa and Geraden, the OfficialCouple of ''Literature/MordantsNeed'' get up to, but it seems to be fairly vanilla while still being mutually enjoyable. The same goes (again, insofar as we are told) for every other character in the series that is even remotely sympathetic, even ones like [[TheVamp Saddith]] and [[UnholyMatrimony Elega and Prince Kragen]]. The all-out baddies, meanwhile, include a [[{{Sadist}} sexual sadist]], a [[DepravedHomosexual homosexual rapist]] and [[BestialityIsDepraved a man who has sex with animals.]]
* Standard procedure for all Creator/DanielleSteel novels. In particular, the novel ''Daddy'', where the hero is stunned at how spectacular sex with his new girlfriend is, having thought that his and his ex-wife's sex life was perfect.

* In ''{{Literature/Caliphate}}'', Christian slave girl [[TheWoobie Petra]] endures [[RapeAsDrama rape at the hands of her masters]] and gets sold to a brothel where she is subjected to ''even more'' [[DefiledForever degrading and abusive sex]] from the costumers, with the [[SituationalSexuality only comfort]] she finds being with [[AsianHookerStereotype Chinese prostitute]] Ling. When she makes love with [[TheHero Hamilton]] for the first time, not only is it consensual but she dreamily thinks that "He's not as good as Ling, but he's better than any man who's ever had me."
* The villainous side turns up in ''The Silence of the Girls'' - most of the men in the book are rapists, but the especial {{Jerkass}} Agamemnon ''also'' has a preference for brutal sodomy. [[spoiler:So when Briseis becomes pregnant, the only possible father is Achilles.]]
* In the medieval bodice-ripper ''Enchanted'', the heroine has a ParalyzingFearOfSexuality due to having been raped by one of her father's knights and forced into an ArrangedMarriage with another, leading them to have a SexlessMarriage. Until she finally gets over her fears and confesses to him. From then on, they're the epitome of InsatiableNewlyweds.
* In the Colleen [=McCullough=] novel ''The Touch'', Elizabeth absolutely ''hates'' having sex with her husband Alexander (he isn't abusive or cruel, but she was essentially forced into an ArrangedMarriage and therefore doesn't love him). When she finds true love (with, bizarrely, the son of Alexander's mistress Ruby, who he ''does'' have a good sex life with), she's absolutely floored at how wonderful sex can be. By the time the book ends, they're the HappilyMarried parents of twins and expecting again and all dialogue indicates that they still can't keep their hands off each other.
* ''Literature/CaptivePrince'': Damen's sexual prowess is actually part of his nationwide reputation as TheGoodPrince; when he and [[DefrostingIceQueen Laurent]] start to have sex, he takes extra care that Laurent is comfortable and happy. In contrast, the BigBad is a child molester.
* Every novel by ''Creator/RaymondEFeist'' tends to feature this, and the opposite for his antagonists. Whether its in ''Literature/TheRiftwarCycle'' or ''The Empire Saga'' (co-authored by Jenny Wurts), all of his heroes find their soulmates and have mutually fulfilling sex lives, whereas any villain is ALWAYS a pervert, sadist, rapist, or all three without exception.
** It's even played with in 'Rise of a Merchant Prince' - the protagonist is on Team Hero but he is the sketchiest and most cowardly of the Good Guys. He marries out of obligation, has an awkward and unsatisfactory sex life with his wife, and spends time chasing after femme fatales who are out to trick and take advantage of him. As the series progresses however, due to adversity caused by the plot he grows closer to his wife and as he becomes more traditionally heroic, their marriage improves along with the sex lives.

* ''Series/Supergirl2015'': [[ComicBook/{{Supergirl}} Kara]] and Mon-El. Kara is so upbeat after their first night together that she wakes up early to fight a ton of crime, then brings him flowers.

* ''WebVideo/HeroHouse'' has Franchise/{{Batman}} and Characters/{{Catwoman|SelinaKyle}} if their phone call is anything to go by.

* ''Film/{{Shame}}'': The protagonist Brandon is a sex addict, masturbating and browsing porn in the time in the time in between screwing random women, and sometimes even ''during'' said screwing. But when he's finally able to have sex with someone he actually has an emotional connection with, he can't get it up. Commitment is a turnoff to him, so he remains trapped in his shallow lifestyle.

* In ''Series/{{The Boys|2019}}'', Hughie and Annie are the nicest characters of the series and their sex is sweet and healthy. On the other hand, Homelander, one of the main antagonists, is much worse at sex: when Stillwell engages in intercourse with him, [[SpeedSex he climaxes within 45 seconds]]. His sexual relationship with Stormfront, another villain, has Homelander's performance improve, but also involves kinky or unpleasant elements, such as harming each other (they are [[NighInvulnerability Nigh-Invulnerable]] superheroes) with Homelander frying Stormfront´s chest with his EyeBeams, or having sex in an alley after Homelander turns a robber's head into paste. Apparently, maiming and gruesomely killing people are good for their libidos.

* In Creator/JossWhedon's last arc of ''ComicBook/AstonishingXMen'', before the X-Men make their final stand against the Breakworld, [[Characters/XMen70sMembers Colossus]] [[HeroicBSOD is overwhelmed]] by [[ApocalypseMaiden the position he finds himself in]], as he is supposedly prophesied to destroy the Breakworld. While he and [[Characters/XMen80sMembers Kitty Pryde]] are granted shelter by a renegade "pacifist" Breakworlder, as they prepare for bed Kitty [[DistractedByTheSexy distracts Colossus]] from his emotional turmoil by standing before him completely naked. The next issue we see them in afterglow, and going by the conversation it was very good:

* In ''Jason's Lyric'', the main character, Jason, is a good man who spends his youth taking care and looking out for his family. Later, he meets his dream girl, Lyric, and they eventually fall in love. After they are officially dating, they finally kiss and have a passionate sex in [[EmpathicEnvironment the woods that magically turns into flower fields]]. Later, they have sex again in the electronic shop and get back together, after a brief argument. And even better, his mother gives her blessing for his wish to move out with Lyric.

* Creator/HarryTurtledove's AlternateHistory body of work is large enough that Turtledove's feelings about sex are now absolutely clear: the only acceptable sex is between a husband and wife (and thanks to his inability to write a good sex scene, the feeling comes across that even that isn't acceptable).
** You sure? ''Literature/TheCaseOfTheToxicSpellDump'' has a guy playing that trope 100% straight (in fact, he states as much outright) with a long term girlfriend, although they ''are'' about to get married by the end of the novel.

* Inverted near the end of [[spoiler: Shizune]]'s route in ''VisualNovel/KatawaShoujo''. The-Player-as-Hisao gets a scene where they can choose to cheat on her [[spoiler: with her best friend Misha]]. If the player ''does'' cheat: 1) the sex is really uncomfortable and 2) it leads to her BadEnding. And if the player does ''not'' cheat, [[spoiler: it's played straight: the "reward" is one of the most explicit and pleasant-to-go-through sex scenes of the whole game, in which Shizune shows off both her sexy underwear (plus keeping her [[ZettaiRyouiki thigh high socks]] ''and'' [[{{Meganekko}} her glasses]] through the sex) and [[BrainsAndBondage her kinky and topping side]]]].

* In ''Series/{{The Boys|2019}}'', Hughie and Annie are the nicest characters of the series and their sex is sweet and healthy. * Melanie and Jared in the [[TheFilmOfTheBook film adaptation]] of ''Literature/TheHost2008''. What about them?

* ''Seducing Dr.Lewis'' has all the villagers having awesome sex when fishing was still strong and plentiful. After they finally manage to get their factory in the village, they finally have good sex once again.

* The "Bad People Have Bad Sex" aspect of this trope is spoofed in the fictitious play "The Courier's Tragedy" in Thomas Pynchon's ''Literature/TheCryingOfLot49''. In the play, all the villains are incestuous perverts. At no point in the novel does anybody have good sex, but they all appear to enjoy what they have.
