* This is the most likely fate for black holes, thanks to [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hawking_radiation Hawking Radiation]]. To oversimplify what happens, the natural waves and anti-waves of quantum fields (often referred to as "virtual particles") usually cancel each other out, but a black hole prevents that from happening as normal.
