* While Davos is serving soup on the chow line to the various people who have been drafted into fighting, after trying to reassure a man who is ''terrified'' of having to fight and tells him he'll be suitably equipped, a young girl comes up and asks where she goes, as the children and women who aren't fighting will be in the crypt, while everyone else is being pressed into the fight. She says that she wants to be a soldier, as her two brothers were, and Davos is clearly trying to decide whether to protect this young girl, or honor her desire to fight as her brother did. Gilly comes up and [[TakeAThirdOption threads the needle]], saying that she'll be glad to have the girl in the crypts, to protect her, Sam, and the other women and children. The girl looks glad to be taken seriously, but also spared from a fight that she likely knows would be certain death, and Davos is glad that he didn't have to figure out whether to protect her, or honor her.

It's likely there's a pragmatic aspect to it, considering Tommen is next in line to the throne and the King has quite blatantly been assassinated before their eyes, but Tywin's concern for his grandson's well-being is clear either way.

* Sophie Turner adopted the Northern Inuit Dog who played Lady. On some meta-level, there is a universe where Sansa gets to keep her wolf. It just doesn't get much sweeter than that.
* FandomVIP Larry Williams teary-eyed in gratitude after opening [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EgUBuuvUWEg a poster signed by the producers and Sean Bean]].
* While also brilliantly hilarious, [[https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10151861750202734.1073741847.74133697733&type=1 Nikolaj Coster-Waldau giving Joffrey advice on how to be a normal human being]].
* The commentaries are pretty much full of these.
** In the commentary track for "Mhysa", Iain Glen (Jorah Mormont) thanks the show because it made him cool in the eyes of his son, who has been indifferent to his earlier acting work.
** EVERYONE in the cast/crew is quick to point out that Jack Gleeson is a really nice guy in real life, lest the fans get the wrong idea and think Jack has anything in common with Joffrey.
** For "The Rains of Castamere", Michelle Fairley, Richard Madden, and David Nutter (the episode's director) are commenting on the Red Wedding, with Fairley noting that this is her first time watching the episode. As the credits roll, Fairley can be heard gasping heavily and sniffling, clearly fighting back tears. Madden sounds similarly emotional, mentioning how invested he was in his time on the show. The actors thank David Nutter for "guiding them brilliantly" and cap the commentary off with this gem:
--->'''Michelle Fairley:''' And Richard, I love you to pieces.\\
'''Richard Madden:''' I love you, too, Michelle.
* Everybody, from fans to co-stars and directors, congratulating Jack Gleeson on his character's final scene. For a character so hated, to get such praise and admiration is surprisingly nice.
* Kristian Nairn (Hodor) was informed of a young boy who has [[http://autism.about.com/od/autismterms/f/nonverbal.htm nonverbal autism]] and loves Hodor, and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mzFzj2E5uV8&feature=youtu.be communicated with him via hodoring to the boy's delight]].
* In [[http://www.tvguide.com/News/Game-Thrones-Viper-Mountain-Recap-Pedro-Pascal-1082396.aspx this interview]] with Creator/PedroPascal, a central topic is Oberyn Martell's death. It ends with this exchange:
-->'''Interviewer:''' Do you have a final message for the fans?\\
'''Pascal:''' I'm completely grateful that there are fans. I'm sure Oberyn is finding a way to have an even better time in the afterlife.
** Also, [[http://instagram.com/p/ov_gOlgLgV/ this photo]]. Kind of lightens the mood after one of the most brutal deaths in the entire series.

* Wilko Johnson beating cancer, along with the outpouring of relief from fans. Also counts as a monumental SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome for the man himself, considering he beat ''stage four pancreatic cancer.''
* [[http://www.ew.com/article/2015/03/23/ned-stark-speaks-grave-sean-bean-keeping-game-thrones Sean Bean happened to be filming a movie near where Sophie Turner was filming Season 5]], so he got to pop over and see how his TV daughter was doing years after leaving her behind, describing her as having developed into a tremendous actress.
* Aimee Richardson (Myrcella) [[https://twitter.com/Kerry_Ingram/status/603963792649756673 surprised]] Kerry Ingram (Shireen) on her 16th birthday after telling her she couldn't be there.
* Ian Beattie has shared that he adored being part of the show so much that he was actually tearing up throughout the filming of his death scene, making him quite grateful for the stabbed-eye prosthetics that spared him the awkwardness of people noticing.
* Soon after "The Door" aired, Kristian Nairn was given a spectacular cake modeled after the door Hodor kept shut. He promptly shared it with Isaac Hempstead-Wright.
** The presenters of Thronecast also commissioned Game of Thrones' official storyboard artist to make a drawing of Hodor riding a dragon and presented it to him when he appeared during Season 7. He absolutely loved it.
* The producers gave Music/EdSheeran a role as a surprise to Maisie Williams, who's a huge fan.
* The fact that Creator/KitHarington and Creator/RoseLeslie [[http://www.indiewire.com/2017/10/game-of-thrones-kit-harington-rose-leslie-wedding-filming-delayed-1201884551/ are getting married]] and that they stopped filming just to attend the wedding. D'awwww.
** As of June 2018, [[https://people.com/tv/kit-harington-rose-leslie-married-wedding-photos/ they’ve officially tied the knot]]. One can wonder if they quoted the “I am hers, she is mine” oath from the show.
* When asked about who he wanted on the Iron Throne, Sean Bean replied: "Sansa would be good, because she's my daughter. Either her or Arya." Aww!
* [[https://www.cnn.com/2019/05/01/entertainment/game-of-thrones-hospice-trnd/index.html Claire Walton]] was an 88-year-old fan of the series living in hospice care when the final season started up. Prior to the weekend of April 26th, 2019 knowing her time was short, she first wished to meet the cast of her favorite show. She realized this is a bit much, and settled for hoping to see the next episode. The hospice caregivers contacted the Game of Thrones production company and got ''ten'' of the cast to make videos for the lady. She enjoyed the third episode of the season on Sunday April 28th 2019, the day it premiered along with the wonderful videos, and died the next evening on Monday April 29th.
* Creator/LiamCunningham admitted on ''Conan'' that he took home some props from the show's set as mementos since they wrapped the final filming. One of them is the wooden stag that Davos carved for Shireen.
* In a press junket in Bulgaria, Creator/SibelKekilli was presented with a bottle of rose oil as a gift on behalf of all her Bulgarian fans. So flattered and pleased by this, she got up to hug the interviewer.
* Sibel was also introduced to George RR Martin who apparently said if he had met her before he wrote ''Literature/AStormOfSwords'' he would not have killed Shae off.
* After 8x05, and some uhh... questionable acts by one character in particular, segments of the fandom quickly took to social media to defend the character's actress and to remind everyone not to go after her for how her character acted, showing that for all the horrific stuff that goes on onscreen, the fandom is at least making very strong attempts to be a healthy one.
** Another positive reaction came from a fan on Reddit's r/freefolk who decided to start a [[https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/justicefordaenerys fundraiser]] to support Emilia Clarke's charity organisation, Same You, as a way of showing their appreciation for her work on the season. The fans raised £10,000 in one day and eventually raised over £100,000. This has inspired similar campaigns for charities supported by other members of the cast.
* The HBO documentary, ''Game of Thrones: The Last Watch'', focuses on the show's cast and crew members who are filming the final season. It clearly shows how dedicated they are despite how the direction went. Most of the people interviewed were very happy and sad that this is the last time they worked together for 10 years. This is also the time we see them, relaxing and having fun with each other.
** During the final table read, Creator/ConlethHill looks very unhappy with Varys' death. After he finished reading his last line, he tosses his script on table and crosses his arms, looking very dismayed. Emilia Clarke glances at him with pity while Lena Headey comforts him by patting him on the arm and Gwendolie Christie embraces him.
** The cast cheered when they read the part of Arya killing the Night King.
** Kit Harrington is very torn up when the scene of Jon killing Dany was read.
** The documentary shows the table read of Season one which shows the original cast members such as Creator/JasonMomoa, Creator/AidenGillan, Creator/SeanBean, Creator/RichardMadden and Creator/MichelleFairley. It really shows how far the remaining cast members come a long way with the show reaching its finale.
* While Daenerys and Khal Drogo's medieval marriage was sexually abusive, it was a very different story behind-the-scenes. Emilia Clarke reports that Jason Momoa was ''very'' protective of her. "He took care of me in an environment where I didn’t know I needed to be taken care of."
** Judging by [[https://www.instagram.com/p/CSllDC7sLij/?utm_medium=copy_link this adorable and hilarious photo]] Emilia posted on her Instagram, their friendship has continued long past the end of the series.

* Even as Arya tries to steal knives and have him killed every few days, Tywin doesn't press her for details -- even though he is obviously aware that Arya is lying about almost everything. He even comments that she reminds him of his daughter, and while that's probably not a compliment (as Cersei has made it to the top of Arya's hit list), Tywin sees Arya as a tough highborn girl smart enough to read, fight, and lie about her identity and even her gender. He clearly admires her ActionGirl traits, and if their houses weren't so embroiled in conflict (and Tywin's Tywin-ness was less pronounced), it's easy to picture Tywin taking his favorite cup-bearer under his wing and acting as a mentor, though probably a tougher, gruffer, more [[CynicalMentor cynical one.]]
** A subtle one from this scene: During the end of their conversation, just after Tywin warns Arya about keeping her tone, he orders her to take what is left of the food to the kitchen, while telling her to "eat whatever she wanted to". This is basically the most powerful lord in Westeros giving one of his vassals his blessing to do something that, at times of war, would others, even knights, do without his permission, would mean Tywin labelling them as thieves with death as their punishment. That is what makes her quest great, she knows she ''should'' go back to Westeros and she knows she has no right to start wars in this land but ''she cannot possibly leave the Gulf of Grief knowing more people are living a misery that is worse that what she herself lived''.

** Keep in mind that Dany was ''herself'' sold into slavery by Viserys, given to the Dothraki as essentially a glorified concubine for Khal Drogo. She's actually been anti-slavery ever since the first series, as shown when she convinced Drogo to either free the slaves, or at least, the females that were going to be raped by his Khalasar. She's been trying to establish herself as a liberator, long before Astapor!
