A much, much needed update even if the final chapter did not come out today.

''Total Zeksmit'' is Great Pikmin Fan's second attempt at a ''WesternAnimation/TotalDrama'' competition, and unlike his first attempt this is set in an AlternateUniverse where none of the actual seasons happened. Instead, Ezekiel "Zeksmit" Smithy had competed on a show by Chris called ''Extreme Musical Drama High School'', where he happened to win a special "Host your own miniseason" challenge held at some point. As reward, he starts up a game where the story begins at: The prairie campgrounds of Zekitunakwa, with the eleven girls from canon's first season competing as well.

Thus is the plot of the first season, ''Total Zeksmit Plains''. Which is more of a mini-season, as there will only be twelve chapters (counting a pair of Aftermath talkshows) and a special connecting it with the sequel. Following ''Plains'' will be a far larger sequel season titled ''Campsites Around the World'', adding OriginalCharacter[=s=] to compete alongside the canon cast and a few new gimicks not used in the canon series. There is also going to be a spinoff series called ''Total Zeksmit Side Stories'', which do not take place in a singular competition but is instead a collection of various stories in the ''Total Zeksmit'' verse, and a prequel fic centered around Ezekiel's time in ''Extreme Musical Drama High School'', which will be named after said competition.

* BigBadWannabe: [[spoiler:Heather]].

to:

* BigBadWannabe: [[spoiler:Heather]].[[spoiler:Heather. She tries to be the main villain of the first chapter, but her blatantly antagonistic behavior just makes everyone hate her, and unlike canon, she fails to get any immunity on the first challenge and is promptly voted off. She tries to take the main villain role of the special, but only partly succeeds, as the other contestants consider Eva to be a far greater threat. Even after Heather gets the super-strong Sierra on her side and takes Bridgette and Izzy out of the contest far before anybody else "fails"]]. Ultimately, due to her role in the special, the trope is zig-zagged with her.

* DroppedABridgeOnHim: Subverted, and this time with a "death" rathern than an elimination. [[spoiler:The very last part of the post-game special seems to have Ezekiel killed off, hit by a tree before he can finish saying the name of the second season (''Total Zeksmit: Campsites Around the World''). However, Word of God confirms that he's at least ''alive.'' How badly he's injured is another story.]]
* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: {{Fanservice}} played a larger part of the series at first. Fan thought it was getting cringy, so he heavily downplayed it. Lindsay still runs around naked[[note]]Technically, she still has a hat, and ''insists'' that this doesn't make her naked[[/note]] ever since, well, the naked challenge, but aside from one description of her getting on a bear in the special, the story almost never makes a big deal out of her nudity.

* EstablishingCharacterMoment: The fan fic makes itself clear which route it's taking with Ezekiel right from the beginning, as during the first chapter he is largely characterized through his responses to the camper's comments on the environment. Also there's Chris's first and currently only appearance, where it's implied that he made the ride for the campers unpleasant by deliberately driving badly. Kathy, the first OC introduced, makes her first appearance by picking a deliberate diction that would scare Lindsay with the addition of commenting on her butt. [[spoiler:She soon reveals in "Pairing is Caring" that it was just an act]].

to:

* GainaxEnding: Downplayed, as most of the ending right up until the absolute ''last'' bit is straightforward, at least by ''Total Drama'' standards. [[spoiler:"Campers Without a Camp" ends similar to how "Total Drama Drama Drama Drama Island" did, with about half of the contestants falling in to the water and making an unexpected tie in the grand final challenge, and this building up to a second season. Everything seems fine and good... until a tree falls on Ezekiel, crashing on him and seemingly killing him. The story ends almost '''immediately''' after this. Word of God is that Ezekiel is still alive, although he may or may not be too injured to actually carry the series on. The ending is very ambiguous because Great Pikmin Fan is still unsure if he wants to completely kill the series off, or revisit it sometime later with a sequel.]]

Instead of getting together, Bridgette just tells Izzy off right before the former's elimination for being too immature and letting her petty grudge on Eva get the better of her. Though the author says that the couples will stay the same from the original version of this story, so it is likely that they will get together eventually]].

* OrphanedSeries: Downplayed. ''Plains'' itself is finished, and both the finale ("The True Heroine of Zekitunakwa") or the post-game Aftermath can be seen as "proper" conclusions, although each of those has a lead in to the next chapter. Technically, "Campers Without a Camp" is a bonus, although it's one that ''somewhat'' ends with a SequelHook. It's just that the sequel hook is made ambiguous and [[spoiler:Ezekiel ends up getting crushed by a tree]] because the author didn't feel like completely promissing ''Campsites Around the World'' to be a guaranteed thing, after his displeasure with spending so long working on the chapters of just ''Plains'' [[OldShame and never liking the result.]] Having a number of other projects that he is more fond of, such as ''Joy+Roy'', ''FanFic/RunGifocalypse'' and its remake, and so forth do not help ''Zeksmit''[='=]s case.

* SelfDeprecation: As usual for Fan, ''Zeksmit'' makes fun of itself a lot, in a lot of ways that range from the bitter campers simply making fun of the game they're in, to [[LeaningOnTheFourthWall seeming]] like it's making fun of the fan fic itself rather than the reality show. This is more obvious if one interprets Ezekiel as a sort of embodiment of the fan fic itself; as Fan loses interest in it and starts regretting it, Ezekiel becomes more and more of a ButtMonkey, and the story itself ends [[spoiler:shortly after what looks to be Ezekiel's death]].

* WeHardlyKnewYe: The days and episodes are all one chapter and the pilot contains an elimination, so [[spoiler:Heather]] is voted off on the same chapter she's introduced.

...You should KNOW that talking about .GIFfany's and Soos's cameo (and John and Nepeta's) is the first thing I'll put here.

Elaboration. This kind of implies that I USED to sugarcoat what she does. Which um... hrm... actually, she didn\'t act like that much of an idiot until right before her elimination, so I didn\'t need to not-sugarcoat it.

Yeah... now that I think about it, the latest elimination was obvious. Out of the final six, Lindsay DOES seem like the fodderiest, having a little less development than Sadie, Izzy, Courtney, and Beth, and not being the main antagonist like Eva. Although how cool would it have been if Lindsay trumped Eva, but then she became the main villain from there somehow?

* CantActPervertedTowardALoveInterest: Bridgette is the only contestant that Ezekiel does ''not'' feel confterable seeing naked. The rest of them he finds funny. Inverted with Izzy. * ColorCodedCharacters: Each of the campers are given a color-coding based on something involving their auditions (as that was all Ezekiel had seen of them at the time). Every outfit and most accessories they have, with the sole exception of the cosplay challenge (likely because making eleven different colored versions of eight different outfits would be a huge chore), uses these colors.
* CurbStompBattle: The climax of "Bears, Bares, and a Whole Lot of Flare" is, basically, like a jousting match between Lindsay and Eva, except on bears instead of horses and with "battle poles" instead of lances. [[spoiler:It goes down in the exact way you would expect a battle between a strong and psycho weight lifter and a thin idiot would go. What makes matters worse is that the story describes the fight as being slown down just so that the length of it can be dragged on]].

* FanDisservice:
** Ezekiel's hairy ass. It's mentioned twice in "Bears, Bares, and a Whole Lot of Flare". Or rather, naked Ezekiel in general.
** Speaking of that chapter, the main gimmick about it (becides the bear riding and the toque-based elimination) is that everyone is naked. While this includes Justin, he's out for most of the chapter [[MinorInjuryOverreaction thanks to a toe injury]]. And, yes Ezekiel too, as said above. As for the contestants... let's run through our final six, shall we? [[spoiler:So there's the unoffensive Courtney and outright MsFanservice Lindsay. But then there's the psychopathic Izzy. WordOfGod says that you ''could'' think of the fic as redesigning Beth and Eva as a leftover from the old version of this for SelfFanservice, or could not, but he seems to be leaning over towards the latter option. And them aside, Sadie's weight seems to be a constant regardless, which several in-story comments confirm]].
** Izzy spends a lot of "Pairing is Caring" naked, as she was fortunate enough to be exempt from the challenge thanks to how it relies on pairs and there's an odd number of campers left. Although she does some ''incredibly'' unsexy things, like trying to ruin Eva's bed (she even considers taking a giant crap in it), or playing an annoying song on a flute.

* GettingCrapPastTheRadar: Nodded at in-universe, as this has no real radar to speak of. Lindsay thinks that a bikini made of floss can get around the need for censorship. If the prose of the audition is any indication, it doesn't.

* {{Irony}}: In "Rather Plain Sports", Kathy tells Lindsay to "Beware of Homer". [[spoiler:This piece of advice turns out to be unnecessary. Lindsay's voted off ''right'' before (not counting Aftermaths) the challenge where Homer is supposed to come into play]].

Courtney. While she isn't exactly a ''villain'' as of now, Izzy also seems to have her chaotic actions more limited by a recent take-up on Bridgette's advice.

* SlapstickKnowsNoGender: The contestants are frequently put through all kinds of slapstick, particularly Izzy. This also goes for most of the auditions so far: [[spoiler:Gwen suffering from ComedicUnderwearExposure, having to do a cheer because she lost a bet, and falling on her face because she tripped over her own too-large pink skirt picked out for doing a cheer dance; Leshawna getting pansed ''by a barbell''; Katie didn't suffer any, but ''Sadie'' did in her audition when she fell off of the bed after a failed swing; Bridgette's younger sister ripping her dress off of her; and Lindsay giving herself a wegdie and falling on the camera. All of it is played for laughs, although seeing how common the element of undressing is, it might double as an attempt to sneak in more {{Fanservice}}. Oddly, Heather's audition averts this, despite the fact that she's the closest of the eliminated contestants who might fit as an AcceptableTarget]]. Although really, all this considered, the fact that there are currently only three major male characters, and one of them has been seriously OutOfFocus so far, helps.

* WeHardlyKnewYe: The days and episodes are all one chapter and the pilot contains an elimination, so [[spoiler:Heather]] is voted off on the same chapter she's introduced.

to:

* {{Stripperiffic}}: Lindsay's idea for a floss bikini. It's ''supposed'' to be a means to get around censorship, but any system where a thin strip of floss across your nipples and wrapped around between the legs would count as coverage would be a very unnecessary system.

** His profile admits that he doesn't like Sierra. When she finally does appear in the story, [[spoiler:she's treated like some big threat, openly talking about taking down all of the show staff and taking Ezekiel for himself. Then she's treated as fodder for Homer]].
* ThongOfShielding:
** Yet another trope discussed briefly in Lindsay's audition. She says if you cover up "the line part" (the crack), it's okay to show as much of "the round parts" (the cheeks) as you want.
** The story itself averts this, as it's ''heavily'' implied through dialogue and Ezekiel's costume plans (mainly in "Blast to and From the Past") that, unlike in canon, asses would be uncensored. Even the girl's. ''Especially'' the girl's considering the high ratio of female-to-male nudity.

Ah, I forgot to update this when I got chapter 5 out. Oh, and I think four is well more than enough to establish that getting Ezekiel\'s nickname wrong is a Running Gag.

Eva kicks Katie out of the alliance once they and Sadie meet up in person again, and she is soon voted off]].

* LastMinuteHookUp: [[spoiler:Subverted with Izzy and Bridgette, if "last minute" is considered their elimination. Instead of getting together, Bridgette just tells Izzy off right before the former's elimination for being too immature and letting her petty grudge on Eva get the better of her. Though the author says that the couples will stay the same from the original version of this story, so it is likely that they will get together eventually]].

* RunningGag: Characters getting Ezekiel's self-given nickname wrong in their audition. * AccidentalInnuendo: [[invoked]]WordOfGod says that the team names are this, out-universe. He found a double meaning in them after publishing the first few chapters and clairified on his profile that it was unintentional. This is almost certainly why the names in the newer versions are changed to Screaming Buffalo and Killer Jackrabbits, instead of Screaming Hills (which he thought could be mis-thought of as a euphenism for breasts) and Killer Grass (pubic hair).
* {{Acrofatic}}: Sadie can ''run up trees'' when needed. And is a rather good swimmer.
* AuthorAppeal: It gets increasingly obvious that Pikmin Fan does not like Lindsay, having putting her through several slapstick scenarios throughout the series. By chapter 7, her whiney-ness from the canon pilot also comes into play a lot, spending most of the chapter complaining [[spoiler:and screwing up ''very badly'' by intentionally tossing boomerangs at her own teammates, causing her to lose the challenge and marking the first elimination challenge loss for the Killer Grass]].
* AffectionateParody: The premise is this of some of the more... "edgy" ''Total Drama'' fan competitions.
* AirVentEscape: Invoked in-universe. The maze in the first chapter has four fake air vents that lead to an open space where one can climb out through one of those openings. The problem is, one of these drops straight into the prison cell.
* AlternateHistory[=/=]AlternateUniverse[=/=]TwentyMinutesIntoTheFuture: The premise.
* AsYouKnow: The [[ElementalPowers elemental classes]] are appearanly common knowledge and the "norm" for this universe, so Izzy's explanation to Bridgette of them comes off as this. Averted with Courtney's rant that exposits on eight of the nine types.
* BigBad: The beginning hinted at Heather being this, then there were some clues that Courtney would break from being the team's expendable and become this, but as of chapter five it's clearly Eva.
* BigBadWannabe: [[spoiler:Heather]].
* DoorStopper: This was Pikmin Fan's longest written fan fic on fanfiction.net so far. (And still his second longest, topped only by ''FanFic/HousestuckHurrcainCrconikals'' and thus making it his longest serious fic) It was only seven chapters into its first season, but ''already'' around 61,000 words long. (The ''Zeksmit'' remake seems to be even longer; being at ~33K words at with the exception of the opening every chapter has been longer.)
* ButtMonkey: Justin, Heather, and Lindsay.

'''Ezekiel:''' Well, it does not matter. Because this challenge has nothing to do with that.
* DivergentCharacterEvolution: Katie and Sadie are starting to undergo this. [[spoiler:Although with the ''former'' being eliminated early, and all the main development going to Sadie, a contrast to usual fandom trends.]]
* {{Ecchi}}: Not really, no. Parodied if anything.
* ElementalPowers: In this universe, there are ten "classes:" nine elemental classes, and a "neutral" type that doesn't have any powers. At first, onlt fire/heat, water, air, and plant were revealed (in chapter 4), but then Courtney explains four out of the remaining five types. * HotSpringsEpisode: Parodied. There isn't going to be an ''entire episode'' in the hot springs per-say, but a trip there is the reward for the challenge in chapter 6. Although the experience there isn't actually on-screen; the chapter ends just as the contestants and Justin arrive, and that's really so that Justin can give the sign-off.
* {{Hypocrite}}: For all his talk about how he's better than Chris, Ezekiel can be a pretty big narcisist jerk himself sometimes. The contestants are more than aware of this.
* JerkAss: Ezekiel. Not as bad as Chris (or so he says...) but still.
* LoveTriangle: Something of [[TriangRelations type 4]] involving Bridgette, Ezekiel, and Izzy. To elaborate: Ezekiel and Izzy both have feelings for Bridgette, Ezekiel attempting to be subtle (but Justin picks up on it) and Izzy being outright straitforeward. Bridgette wants to try to take the relationship slower, but still hints at being attracted to her. However, she does not like Ezekiel, and the relation between Ezekiel and Izzy seems to be a JustFriends type of deal at this point.
* LuckBasedMission: [[DefiedTrope Defied]]. All of the challenges are going to be based on phyical skill (often with some hinderances), as stated in the author's profile description for this series. The closest the series has gone to this trope is, ironically, the first challenge, due to involving navigation of a maze layout that none of the contestants knew of before hand.
* ManipulativeBastard: Eva. Also, [[spoiler:it's implied Justin is going to be this]].
* MythologyGag:
** Chapter 6 has an intern ''heavily'' implied to be modled off of [[Webcomic/SweetJadeAndHellaJohn Jean]]. They even share the same name.

* OrwellianRetcon: Sometimes the author goes back to add or change a few scenes in the earlier chapters.
* PaintballEpisode: Arguably the first chapter. Although the contestants themselves had to run away from the gun-weilding interns.
* PersonalityPowers: Averted with everyone who has a revealed element class except Izzy and maybe Heather.

-->"Just kick [[spoiler:Eva's]] ass for me."
* ShipSinking: Chapter 3 simultainiously sunk Ezekiel/Bridgette and Ezekiel/Izzy. How? By hooking said two girls up with eachother.
* ShockingElimination: Being a scripted series, this was invoked. The first two eliminations were deliberatly set up to resemble common fanon eliminations, ([[spoiler:Courtney and Sadie]]) when the other, slightly more unexpected person gets voted off ([[spoiler:Heather and Katie]]). Although averted in context; both people voted off have had more foreshadowing and reason than the other in the bottom two. ([[spoiler:Heather was very much hated by ''everybody'' and provided a threat, and almost won immunity, while Courtney was at worst being strict with Gwen and Leshawna. Eva specifically wanted Sadie because she thought Sadie could pose a bigger threat to Eva's enemies, and with Katie and Sadie basically distracting one another one of them had to go.]]) Played much more straight with the third elimination, [[spoiler:Bridgette, especially since that very chapter has slightly hinted at Sadie being voted off]].
* ShoutOut:

[[spoiler:She doesn't return to the competition (WordOfGod says that there will never be any returning contestants), but she does make an appearance when the Screaming Hills -- and Lindsay and Justin -- are on their trip to the hot springs.]] WordOfGod says that this is a coincidence, and he admitted that the [[spoiler:post-elimination cameo]] scene was not thought up until he was writting that specific chapter.

* TemptingFate: The end of the first challenge: [[spoiler:Heather, instead of leaving the maze and winning, decides to pull a prank with Lindsay to try to show the other campers that she's {{Badass}}. It backfires.]]
* ViewersAreGoldfish: Averted to the point that it's practically ''inverted'', with the fan fic basically expecting people to remember something without going forward to look at a reminder. (Except for the teams and the eliminations, which a list at the bottom of every chapter shows.) The first recap is not going to be until the first Aftermath, which is a dosen chapters into the fan fic. Season 2 will be kinder with this, since the Aftermaths will be every 6 chapters as with the original ''Total Drama'' series. Ezekiel flat-out says on chapter two that if you don't remember what has happened, chapter one is easily available.
* WalkingSpoiler: [[spoiler:Bridgette. Her early elimination, relationship with Izzy (which was supposed to be a surprise in chapter 3), appearant evil split personality; the end of chapter 6 implies that there will be more to her character.]]

Oops. Also, upon looking back at the Development Hell for the old version, I have just now made it a challenge to get chapter 3 out before the span between it and 3 is 8 or more months. So... I just have this month and the next to write that audition!

The former all kinds of WrongGenreSavvy, expecting to get to the top of the game pretty easily and she thinks she can take control of half of the contestants as soon as the game starts. Ezekiel has his method of constantly blabbing about being better than Chris, despite already showing signs of being NotSoDifferent from him.

I am completely done with chapter four (except the audition, I actually forgot about that until very recently), but before I get that out, I\'d like to change a bit in chapter 3 so that Bridgette doesn\'t come off as a Shameless Fanservice Girl. Before THAT, I really like the idea of chapter 5 so I\'d like to finish the rough draft first. Anyway, for the sake of keeping this easier, as once the seasons and chapters pile on it\'ll be much more complicated than HHC or HUC or whatever, I\'m going to start using the chapter\'s actual names instead of their numbers for the most part. Oh, and this won\'t apply for the \"old version\" tropes.

The Something New Hiatus is planned to be over with this month, probably before the week ends. I\'ve got a LOT to do this month, not even factoring all the work in real life. Completing Carl Stevens Universe, at the very least starting on season 4 of Housestuck Hurrcain Crconikals (I FINALLY got chapter 11 the way I wanted it to a few days ago), mass-updating seasons 1-3 of aformentioned work, and POSSIBLY squeezing out chapter 4 of this very story. And pretty much everything else may have to be pushed to next year, including 496 despite having short chapters.

Thus is the plot of the first season, ''Total Zeksmit Plains''. [[EarlyInstallmentWeirdness Unlike plans for the following seasons,]] there will only be twelve chapters (counting a pair of Aftermath talkshows) and a special connecting it with the sequel season. Following ''Plains'' will be ''Island'', ''Woods'', and ''Campsites Around the World'' in that order, each of these adding OriginalCharacter[=s=] to compete alongside the canon cast and by adding a few new gimicks not used in the canon seasons. There is also going to be a spinoff series called ''Total Zeksmit Side Stories'', which do not take place in a singular competition but is instead a collection of various stories in the ''Total Zeksmit'' verse.

Honestly the more I look the more I find that a fan competition with an elimination on the first actual (as in, not counting two parters or anything, but rather was is designated as chapter 1 on ffn) chapter is pretty rare. Once chapter 5 is out I\'ll delete the \"old version tropes,\" mostly because the new chapters 1-5 would have covered everything in the old version by this point. Really that\'s only there to thicken out the page a little.

''Total Zeksmit'' is Great Pikmin Fan's second attempt at a ''WesternAnimation/TotalDramaIsland'' competition, and unlike his first attempt this is set in an AlternateUniverse where none of the actual seasons happened. Instead, Ezekiel "Zeksmit" Smithy had competed on a show by Chris called ''Extreme Musical Drama High School'', where he happened to win a special "Host your own miniseason" challenge held at some point. As reward, he starts up a game where the story begins at: The prarie campgrounds of Zekitunakwa, with the eleven girls from canon's first season competing as well.

* [[AnyoneCanDie Anyone Can Get Voted Off]]: [[spoiler:First the apparant antagonist, then one of the apparant protagonists]].

* DevelopmentGag: In chapter 2, Ezekiel briefly refers to the Killer Jackrabbits as the Killer Grass before correcting himself, saying that he accidentally called them by the team name back when the series was in progress in-universe. However, "Killer Grass" ''was'' the name of the team back before the fan fic got an overhaul.

* MundaneMadeAwesome: The Dance Dance Revolution matchups towards the end of chapter 2, to the extent that Pikmin Fan compared it to events later on in the series. What that means exactly is unknown.
* OddFriendship: Courtney forms one with Beth and Lindsay. At first, it was purely for competetive reasons, however within the same chapter as the establishment Courtney takes concern when [[spoiler:Izzy wins the final challenge by making Beth slipup and hit her head]], leading the other two to assume that she was actually trying to be real friends with them in the first place. And as it turns out at the end, Courtney's okay with that and she just rolls with it.

Avert Word Cruft.

* ViewersAreGoldfish: Averted so hard that it's practically ''inverted'', with the fan fic basically expecting people to remember something without going foreward to look at a reminder.

The fan fic was originally published under the title ''Total Fan Service Plains'' and had contained reward challenges, thickening out the total chapter count from thirteen to twenty. This made it up to chapter seven (with a portion of eight written), before Pikmin Fan decided to retool the season due to the current formatting drastically slowing down the production and changed several of his plans. The original eight written chapters are planned to be republished on another website, but details on that have not been fully decided.

The first and only season so far can be found [[http://www.fanfiction.net/s/7435694/1/Total_Zeksmit_Plains here]].

!! This fan fic provides:

* ColorCodedCharacters: Each of the campers are given a color-coding based on something involving their auditions (as that was all Ezekiel had seen of them at the time).
* DiscOneFinalBoss: [[spoiler:The pilot sets up Heather as the main antagonist, complete with giving her a speach about eliminating each of the contestants. However, it turns out that one of her own plans completely backfires as she throws away an oppertunity at getting immunity and is rightfully voted off by almost half of the contestants]].
* {{Egopolis}}: The reality show itself is named after a sort-of portmantaeu of Ezekiel's first and last names. Inverted with Zekitunakwa, which ''Ezekiel'' was named after.
* MissingEpisode: ''Seven of them'', three and a half of which have been written down already. The ideas were scrapped and [[PropRecycling planned to be moved to season 2's challenge ideas]] when the fan fic was remade from ''Total Fan Service'' to ''Total Zeksmit''.
* WeHardlyKnewYe: The days and episodes are all one chapter and the pilot contains an elimination, so [[spoiler:Heather]] is voted off.

!! The old version provides examples of:

'''WARNING: ''Major'' spoilers for the first few chapters, that aren't "officially" out yet!'''

* AccidentalInnuendo: [[invoked]]WordOfGod says that the team names are this, out-universe. He found a double meaning in them after publishing the first few chapters and clairified on his profile that it was unintentional.
* {{Acrofatic}}: Sadie can ''run up trees'' when needed. And is a rather good swimmer.
* AuthorAppeal: It's been getting increasingly obvious that Pikmin Fan does not like Lindsay, having putting her through several slapstick scenarios throughout the series.
* AscendedExtra: Kathy appeared in a previous fan fic by the same author, ''Total Drama World Tour Rewrite''. In it, her role was limited to two brief appearances [[spoiler:and might have had a role in the Aftermaths had the fan fic continued]], and she was an intern. In the TFS universe, she's the game's designer and plays something as a "mentor" to the contestants. WordOfGod says that [[spoiler:she will be a contestant in the later seasons]].
* AscendedFanon: Of ''Total Drama'', not TFS. Ezekiel's cousin [[spoiler:and one of the later season competetors]] Zelda seems to be a gender bent version of fanon Ezekiel.
* AffectionateParody: The premise is this of some of the more... "edgy" ''Total Drama'' fan competitions.
* AirVentPassageway: Invoked in-universe. The maze in the first chapter has four fake air vents that lead to an open space where one can climb out through one of those openings. The problem is, one of these drops straight into the prison cell.
* AlternateHistory[=/=]AlternateUniverse[=/=]TwentyMinutesIntoTheFuture: The premise.
* BigBadWannabe: [[spoiler:Heather]].
* DoorStopper: This was Pikmin Fan's longest written fan fic so far. It was only seven chapters into its first season, but ''already'' around 61,000 words long.
* ButtMonkey: Justin, Heather, and Lindsay.
* CurbStompBattle: Day 2's second challenge had [[spoiler:all five Screaming Hills winning their one-on-one match against the Killer Grass]].
* DecoyProtagonist:
** [[spoiler:Bridgette had been written as though she is a main character and would be very important later throughout the season, and was even the team captain of the Screaming Hills. And then she gets voted off a fourth of the way into the fan fic]]. To add insult to injury, [[spoiler:chapter 6 has a cameo of Heather and Katie, post-elimination. The fan fic point-blank says that Bridgette is nowhere to be seen]].
** [[spoiler:Gwen, who is the ''other'' captain and seems to have an important role in antagonizing Courtney starting around chapter 6. She's voted off fourth, one chapter later]].
* DemotedToExtra: The ''whereabouts'' of Alejandro, Cody, DJ, Duncan, Harold, Noah, Owen, Trent, or Tyler are currently unknown. At least one of them will be seen by the end of the first season, though.
* DevelopmentHell:
** The pilot took around ''half a year'' between when it was created to when it was published (circa April to October 3rd), and even then it's in a bit of a "beta" phase. The second chapter was actually worked on for just around two weeks before publish, the publish for the chapter in question only being apart by two days.
** The span between chapters 3 and 4 was nearly eight months. It's been updating around once a month ever since, but that led to chapter 6 being published ''one year'' after the pilot.
* DiskOneFinalBoss: [[spoiler:Heather]], who is set up as the antagonist for the first chapter, is voted off first.
* {{Dissimile}}: In chapter 4:
-->'''Ezekiel:''' Okay campers, how many of you do not know of the story of Adam and Eve?\\
* Everyone exchanged glances, but nobody raised their hands.*\\
The last one has been confirmed (as well as the others prior to the reveal) by WordOfGod, and as it has not been revealed in-story yet, it will be in spoilers:
** Neutral (No abilities.)
** [[BlowYouAway Air.]]
** [[PlayingWithFire Fire/Heat]] [[AnIcePerson (Can also cool down objects to the point of freezing.)]]
** [[DishingOutDirt Earth.]]
** [[ShockAndAwe Electricity.]]
** [[GreenThumb Plant.]]
** [[TheBeastMaster Animal.]]
** [[MakingASplash Water.]]
** [[PoisonousPerson Poison/Chemical.]]
** [[spoiler:[[OurVampiresAreDifferent "Death" (Unofficially reffered to as vampirism.)]]]]
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Ezekiel gives himself several guidlines as to not be like Chris. Even so, sometimes the campers call him out as being a jerk.
* FanDisservice: Chapter 5 features a naked Izzy [[spoiler:serverly bleeding from a broken nose.]] Not as extreme as most examples of the trope, but still, ew.
* {{Fanon}}: [[invoked]]Averted. Ezekiel's personality seems to be based on his self-centered self seen in ''Total Drama'' in every episode following his elimination.
* {{Foil}}s: The teams are set up this way.[[labelnote:To Elaborate]]Bridgette to Gwen, Izzy to Leshawna, Eva to Courtney, and Katie and Sadie to Lindsay and Beth.[[/labelnote]]
* FollowTheLeader: Of ''[[FanFic/TotalDramaComebackSeries Total Drama Comeback]]'', to some extent.
* MythologyGag:
** Chapter 6 has an intern ''heavily'' implied to be modled off of [[Webcomic/SweetJadeAndHellaJohn Jean]]. They even share the same name.
** The same chapter reveals that Bridgette's adoptive parents are named Carl and Walter. ''FanFic/HecksingUlumateCrconikals'' had a small joke about [[OriginalCharacter Carl]] [[ParodyStu Stevens]] sleeping with Hellsing's butler, Walter C Dornez.
* NonIndicativeTitle: The fan service is actually only [[OnceAnEpisode Once or Twice and Episode]] at most. Although the title is really more of a parody if anything.
* PrecisionFStrike: Up to a certain point, the fan fic never even had swears like hell or damn. The point in question? [[spoiler:The Zeksmit Clipz of chapter 4]]:
-->[[spoiler:'''Ezekiel:''' Oh fuck I didn't think we would ''really'' find something haunted in here!]]
:: And pulled off by the same character at the end of chapter 5, only with a more minor swear:
* ShoutOut:
** [[spoiler:Heather and Katie teaming up to "[[Webcomic/{{Homestuck}} mess stuff up]]" after their eliminations.]]
** After the first contestant is eliminated, Ezekiel says ([[spoiler:among giving away season 2]]), [[FanFic/TotalDramaComebackSeries "I'm sure someone will write a fan fic where you win and get the guy -- or girl -- of your dreams."]]
* SlapstickKnowsNoGender: Apart from the campers, there's a heafty ammount of female interns who get injured as well, up to and including recoiling from ''taking a picture''.
* SmallNameBigEgo: Heather and Ezekiel.
* SpeakOfTheDevil: Early on, every chapter following [[spoiler:Heather's]] elimination mentions her in some way or another.
* SpiritualSucessor: To ''Total Drama World Tour Rewrite'', in a very, ''very'' loose way.
* StartMyOwn: Ezekiel's adittute towards Chris's old show ''Extreme Musical Drama High School''.
* StopBeingStereotypical: Gwen points out how stereotypical Ezekiel was being when he reveals the hockey challenge in chapter 3.
* StraightGay: Bridgette. Also her (adoptive) parents.
* StylisticSuck: ''Zeksmit Clipz''.
* SuperpoweredEvilSide: [[spoiler:Bridgette has one. Implied to take over when she's off her meds.]]
* TeamShot: Modeled after canon, only this one includes the hosts.
* TemptingFate: The end of the first challenge: [[spoiler:Heather, instead of leaving the maze and winning, decides to pull a prank with Lindsay to try to show the other campers that she's {{Badass}}. It backfires.]]
* ViewersAreGoldfish: Averted so hard that it's practically ''inverted'', with the fan fic basically expecting people to remember something without going foreward to look at a reminder.
* {{Wangst}}: Invoked with Ezekiel, who sometimes whines about Chris.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen: Tons, including this entire reversion.
* WeHardlyKnewYe: Because the days are all one chapter, [[spoiler:Heather]] is voted off in the very same chapter she is introduced. [[spoiler:However, she ''does'' make a quick appearance along with Katie towards the end of chapter 6]].
* WidgetSeries.
