It was a collaboration written by Tropers/HerrWozzeck, Tropers/RoyalFanatic, BabyGurl278, and KILL THE EMPIRE. It is currently completed, although the collaboration element was ditched after a very long stretch of time due to the myriad scheduling conflicts that eventually arose.

* UnresolvedSexualTension: Marth and Isolde; the two get rather comfortable around each other, to the point where it seems they fall in love. Neither one really acts on their feelings. [[spoiler:It doesn't help that Isolde eventually becomes a victim herself.]]

* FreudianExcuse: [[spoiler:Subverted. Sergio was a victim of his village, who did nothing good to him. The survivors don't buy it.]]

* DevelopmentHell: The fact that it was a collaboration led to this; BabyGurl278 and RoyalFanatic both ran into major scheduling conflicts, and then KILL THE EMPIRE didn't update his chapters after a while. * ThrowItIn: Jigglypuff was forgotten when the brackets for who would be killed off were first written. This gets a HandWave in the fic with the instance of GutFeeling above as the story had already been started by the time someone pointed it out.

And on top of that, he hypnotized Roy into doing his bidding.]] He even finds ways around the characters' various attempts to break the order. [[spoiler:The only reason he's stopped is because other characters come onto the scene, which did not go according to plan. The fact that Fox, Isolde, and Peach manage to come up with a way to OutGambit him helps, too.]]

*** On a side note, WordOfGod has stated that Royal Fanatic almost put too much foreshadowing in that scene. [[spoiler:There was a line that Albrecht said that Herr Wozzeck asked her to remove due to it making it far too obvious at that point in the fiction.]]

[[spoiler:His death is also treated more like a tear-jerker than any other death in the fic.]]
** Also done for Dr. Mario and Young Link, as both are treated as separate characters in-fic.

* CompleteMonster: The murderer. [[spoiler:He kills a child when Bowser attempts to save both himself and Young Link with a draw, kills a journalist who had nothing to do with events, taunts Bowser before finally killing him, and frames someone else. It's no wonder that the survivors don't buy into his FreudianExcuse.]]

* HighOctaneNightmareFuel: The crucified corpses of all the victims up to the point when Roy is trying to save [[spoiler:Samus]].

* MagnificentBastard: The murderer. He's directly involved in every murder he commits. He's also present at the scene of the crime during ''''every single one'''' of the murders (even the ones where he doesn't have to be in attendance for the method to work). He also successfully doctors all of the surveillance footage as needed to cover his identity. [[spoiler:And to misdirect people's suspicions t one point.]] He also has the black magic in effect throughout the entire mansion to send people to their deaths [[spoiler:while also using it to live a double life and to hypnotise Roy into doing his bidding. He's even responsible for the success of the KangarooCourt example above.]]

*[[spoiler:HardyBoysInvestigation: The impromptu investigation that Bowser puts together starts off solid enough, but it crumbles under the combined weight of stress, the lack of any real evidence that can convict people after Ganondorf's death, finger-pointing, and Bowser being paralyzed by Roy.
