In this AlternateUniverse fanfic, the Gate on Alnus Hill opens to the Old World of the ''Warhammer universe'', leading the Saderan Empire to invade this new world. Unfortunately for the Saderans, what they thought was an easy campaign to conquer new lands, capture slaves and acquire riches turns into a disaster when they find out the Old World is not a [[CrapsackWorld pleasant place]]. After being pushed back to Falmart by the Empire of Man led by Emperor Karl Franz, the Empire travels through the Gate and builds a fort known as Fort Griffon around it to prevent the Saderans from invading again. After four weeks of repelling the Saderans and their Vassal allies, Karl Franz decides to make Alnus Hill as part of the Empire and appoints his fourth son, Erhardt Franz Holswig Schliestein, as Margrave of Alnus Hill to not only protect Fort Griffon and prevent another Saderan invasion but also convert the surrounding lands under Empire control. However, other factions and powers of the ''Warhammer'' world also take interest with the world beyond the Gate.

* FantasticRacism: From both sides. The Saderans arrogantly see the Empire of Man as weak barbarians until they lost two seperate battles to them, at which point they are still seen as barbarians, but far more dangerous. Not unlike the Saderans, the Empire of Man despise demihumans in Falmart, whom they see as mutants and they are not allowed to settle near Alnus Hill and are forcefully turned away. This is tame by comparison to the Empire's usual policy of killing mutants on sight.

* WhatTheHellHero: Myuute calls out Erhardt and the Empire of Man's racism towards demihumans. In which she stress that demihumans are not mutants and monsters, and are separate races with their own custom and culture, and reasoning that they are more resourceful as humans that could benefit the Empire. Erhardt is convinced by Myuute's words, but points out that not everyone in the Empire would share his sentiment.

->''This is a dark age, a bloody age, an age of daemons and of sorcery. It is an age of battle and death, and of the world's ending. Amidst all the fire, flame, and fury it is a time, too, of mighty heroes, of bold deeds and great courage.''\\
\\
''At the heart of the Old World sprawls the Empire, the largest and most powerful of the human realms. Known for it's engineers, sorcerers, traders and soldiers, it is a land of great mountains, mighty rivers, dark forests and vast cities. And from his throne in Altdorf reigns the Emperor Karl Franz, sacred descendant of the founder of these lands, Sigmar Heldenhammer, and wielder of his magical warhammer, Ghal Maraz.''\\
\\
''But these are far from civilized times. Across the length and breadth of the Old World, from the knightly palaces of Bretonnia to the ice-bound Kislev in the far north, come rumblings of war. In the towering Worlds Edge Mountains, the greenskin tribes are gathering for another assault. Bandits and renegades harry the wild southern lands of the Border Princes. There are rumors of rat-men, the Skaven, emerging from the sewers and swamps across the land. Something old and unholy stirs in Sylvannia, and talk is that the Von Carsteins have come again. And from the northern wildernesses there is the ever present threat of Chaos, of daemons and beastmen corrupted by the foul powers of the Dark Gods. And to add to the host of troubles the men of the Empire already face, a mysterious and magical Gate has appeared, and armies of invaders pour through it.''\\
\\
''As the time of battle draws ever near, the Empire needs heroes like never before...''

In this AlternateUniverse fanfic, the Gate on Alnus Hill opens to the Old World of the Warhammer universe which leads the Saderan Empire to invade this new world. However, other factions and powers of the Warhammer world also take interest with the world beyond the Gate.
