Liberties with the source material take the form of CrazyIsCool twists.

** Chapters 23 and 24 do a WholePlotReference with [[spoiler: the Asura Project, which is the ''Reshuffled'' version of the Karma Society and the subsequent events of the ''Digital Devil Saga'' duology. In this version, the Karma Society was the Kirijo-run Asura Project, which dedicated to finding a way to awaken Persona Users through the use of an MRI rather than force them into a "fight or flight" scenario. The plot continues like the games, Serph Sheffield tried to use the project to obtain godhood. Here's where the similarities end, however: in this continuity, Jenna Angel (named [[PunnyName Tenshi]] here) is not only one of the heroes, but she's Mitsuru's mother. The rest of the playable heroes from the games are here: Fuuma Madakaze (Gale), twins Mizuki Dojima and Sayaka Norimoto (digital Serph and Sera respectively) [[note]]them being twins plays on their joined form Seraph from ''DDS 2''[[/note]], Hayate Norimoto (Heat), and Cielo keeps his "name" by virtue of it being a nickname due to his love of Cielo Mist. The two ally Tribe leaders helped them out as well: Kagerou Tadou (Lupa, Koromaru's owner) and Mio Yoshino (Jinana, Chidori's mother). Minor villain Bat from ''DDS 1'' is named Tatsu Sakaki and is Takaya's older brother; Takaya himself was to be part of the Asura Project, before Ikutsuki abducted both him and Chidori for the Strega Project. The BonusBoss fight against Hito-Shura even comes up later in the story, as Naoki was working for the Kirijo Group as an engineer at the time and was caught up in the Asura Project's events.]]

While searching for his uncle's shop, Roy gets run over by the dog that Chie raised for Yukiko and meets Chie, and unexpectedly shakes hands with Izanami. Finally, he watches Kanji beat the shit out of the bikers, and subsequently meets Dojima.]] What a mouthful...

As of now, A Fool Named Fortune and Answer of Aeon are being rewritten as ''[[http://www.fanfiction.net/s/7449074/1/P3_A_Fool_Named_Fortune_Reshuffled A Fool Named Fortune: Reshuffled]]''. A ''Persona 4'' novelization fic named ''Persona 4: Norimoto Style'' was being written to follow after the original duology, but has been taken down and re-released as ''[[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/10261436/1/Persona-4-Golden-Moon Persona 4: Golden Moon]]'', the first chapter of which was posted while the rest will follow once ''Reshuffled'' is complete.
