* LogicBomb: Both times he has been locked up it was in a machine that is already broken. He can't escape because using his powers would fix it, which his magic can't do.

* {{Bishounen}}: Fitting this standard of male beauty is alluded to by his nickname, "Bishi".

* ItAmusedMe: She greatly enjoys the reactions on the faces of others when she speaks in her natural accent instead of the the expected Neighponese accent.

* ShipperOnDeck: She frankly admits that assigning Flash to be the captain of Twilight's guard is an attempt at "playing cupid". That, and hoping that the former can break the latter's SuperOCD.

* IndyPloy: Favors on-the-spot planning and improvisation, much to the annoyance of his [[SuperOCD overly planning]] boss, Twilight.

* SuperOCD: Twilight still hasn't gotten better regarding this aspect and she doesn't realize how door-stopper checklists are getting in the way of her Twilight Guard properly functioning.

* ThatsWhatIWouldDo: They believe that the Apples will attempt to drive their families to the mud after Apple Bloom becomes a Princess because that's what their families would do if it happened to them.

* NamesTheSame: Is the second pony in the story named 'Flute', the first being Deputy Flute of Providence, a member of the Filli Terram from from that town and an Earth Pony.
** Averted when the author later {{Retcon}}ned said deputy's name to Piccolo.

* WhenAllYouHaveIsAHammer: His magic only allows him to break machines. He uses it to good effect considering that even the simplest of items that qualify as machines fall within his power.

* CorruptHick: Willing to abandon children to die in the woods just for being unicorns. When Trixie rescued and adopted one of them, he tried to have her locked up to cover up his crimes.

* IllBoy: Has asthma and a lot of allergies.

* DudeMagnet: Taken UpToEleven; now, her beauty is said to entrance not only stallions but also ''colts'', to the point that almost everyone she meets gets smitten at first sight.

* HollywoodNerd: Very into comic books and quite physically frail.

* KnightInSourArmor: He's full of cynicism and initially objects to the Panacea Plan not because of any inherent flaw (in fact, he agrees with it) but because he knows it is going to stir up all kinds of trouble, from PoliticalCorrectnessGoneMad groups like the "Flightless Pride" crowd to the nobles and other high status types looking to maintain their privileged position. What inspires him to join is the thought of how much he good he could do as an alicorn.

* WindmillPolitical: ManipulativeBastard variety. His political platform is essentially all about dealing with supposedly big problems that aren't actually issues at all. Of course, he doesn't actually believe in the nonsense he's spouting, just does it to get support from the whackjobs, loonies, and PoliticalCorrectnessGoneMad groups. All the issues he campaigns against are just convenient scapegoats to justify his actions and laws.

* InsistentTerminology: Whenever someone says that Malfunziona is a draconequus, Discord will pipe in to say that he is a ''lesser'' draconequus.

* NotSoDifferent: From Rainbow Dash. After the mistakes and bad blood get cleared away, they get along so well that you'd think they are sisters.

* ZeroPercentApprovalRating: Luna sympathizes with Rarity over possible rejection by the nobility by reminding her of the "Nightmare Moon" fiasco.

* WorldOfCardboardSpeech: Celestia tells Spike that she knows he generally holds back to keep from hurting anyone, but that if Twilight is in danger, he should cut loose.
