Later while being pursued by Raji's impromptu merchant turned naval fleet, she successfully escapes when they head into some violent maelstroms brewing in the ocean. It was only by sheer luck that Raji was able to follow them and smash into their ship.

It helps that this will work out better diplomatically as well since the family is very powerful and has a lot of influence. Greatly reducing their lands and taking their earldom making the new head of the house a viscount is less likely to get a violent response out of their supporters than executing them all.

* TranquilFury: When he's mad he displays one heck of a DeathGlare, and if appropriate accompanies it by calmly killing whomever managed to get him riled.
