* BitchInSheepsClothing: She acts chipper and joyful, but her murderous nature become evident once she gets angry. This is even reflected in her LimitBreak, which has her pretending to trip while skipping, only to sink a knife into her opponent.

* MoreDakka: Opens fire on her foes in super attack, accompanied by two mechs from ''Hyper Dyne Side Arms''.

* ArmorPiercingSlap: One of Sakura's opening attacks is this followed by a katana slash. Literally if she's fighting a steambeast, mechon, or other metallic enemy.

* CoolPet: Ciel and Nana certainly think so, much to Felicia's annoyance.

* AutomaticCrossbows: Their sprite shows their usual WeaponOfChoice, even though this time they don't get an animation to show it in action.

* ArchEnemy: To Gemini, but seems one-sided on his part as Gemini only pities him.

* KillerRabbit: A rabbit-eared demon armed with a SinisterScythe? Yeah, that counts.

** To give players a break down of what they need to do: [[BossRush the party must defeat]] [[VideoGame/XenobladeChronicles1 Metal Face]], [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfValkyrie Kamuz]], [[VideoGame/MegaManX Sigma]], [[VideoGame/SakuraWars Ranmaru]] and [[VideoGame/{{Darkstalkers}} Pyron]] while defending the pillars against their minions, followed by the Ouma bosses. When Saya finally falls, players can kill off Byaku Shin. While this happens, Byaku Shin will keep on summoning monsters to gun for any of the three pillars that players need to defend and while that's happening, Byaku Shin will keep on firing potshots at your characters when they're in range of her attacks. Anybody caught in her LimitBreak is as [[OneHitKill good as dead.]] Oh and that red liquid that's all over the stage? Walk into it and that character will take some ScratchDamage that will pile up because of so many tiles having them. Phew, talk about a race against time.
* SerialEscalation: The penultimate boss has 370,000 HP to deal with and she's in a MiniMecha. The FinalBoss? ''400,000 HP!''
* SphereOfDestruction: How she ends her MAP attack. Anyone caught up in it is as good as dead.
* StationaryBoss: Not that she would need to move much, as her attack range covers pretty much the entire map.

* KnifeNut: Along with using Akujiki, Hotsuma also likes to spam a lot of kunais, which he never seems to run out of.

* KnifeNut: Zephyr now uses knives in his neutral-A attack. [[CherryTapping They're certainly more useful here than in his home game.]]

* KnifeNut: Starts off her super attack by tripping on purpose and flinging two knives at her enemy.

* KnifeNut: Majima is this, being the Yakuza series' AxCrazy maniac. Though Kiryu also uses his knife HEAT action in one of his attacks.

* BadassNormal: Similar to his successor successors Kiryu and Majima, except without their usage of weapons. His solo attack further emphasizes this: it has the least amount of hits out of any solo attack in the game and consists entirely of basic martial arts strikes, ending in a hold strike.

* OpenMouthInsertFoot: When Estelle [[ACupAngst gets upset at seeing Otohime's figure]], Yuri lamely tried to cheer her up by saying she'll either get busty or won't. Tarosuke bluntly tells Yuri he sucks at consoling women.

* BigLittleBrother: Although Vergil is the older sibling, Dante age-wise is much older in his appearance. Lampshaded by Akira when Vergil appears for the first time. Justified when taking into account where both characters were taken in regards to the ''Devil May Cry'' canon: Dante's is directly taken from the the first game, ''Devil May Cry'', which takes place 10 years after ''Devil May Cry 3'', while Vergil was taken from a day following said game's events.

* BloodKnight: His first reaction to finding himself disoriented in another dimension is to get violent on everyone in the vicinity. Fiora being nearby was just a bonus.

* YearsTooEarly: Akira does a spin on his usual victory quote, occasionally saying that the opponent is "[[UpToEleven twenty years too early]]". Kage-Maru is shocked that he had added in another ten years to his training regimen. Segata also namedrops this, and as with Pai in the first game, Akira states that he has to say it after winning, while Kage-Maru points out that [[MemeticBadass Segata is not a man restricted by the confines of time]].

Sheath is an agent of the american branch of Ouma and partner to Saya. She is one of the main antagonists of the game.

* CoolGuns: Majima has a riot shotgun and Kiryu has an [[{{BFG}} ''anti-material rifle'']], although he has [[DoesNotLikeGuns his reservations on firearms.]] Lampshaded by Chris and Jill, who are surprised they can find those kinds of weapons in Japan. However, as they are taken from the events of ''Dead Souls'' where both of them have access to a black market arms deale, their use of weapons are justified.

* GuestFighter: Both Fiora's and KOS-MOS' games were created by Creator/MonolithSoft, but ''Xenosaga'' was made when Monolith was part of Namco, while ''Xenoblade'' was made after they were bought by Nintendo, which technically makes Fiora a Nintendo character.
