* OtakuFangirl: Her flashback in chapter 109 shows she lived in seclusion in the Swiss mountains, until she was accosted by a group of ability users who tried to abduct her. After defeating them, Minerva noticed one of them had a smartphone (she had never seen one before) and became curious. It was her first exposure to anime and manga; including ''Anime/FullmetalAlchemist'', ''Franchise/{{Gundam}}'', and ''Anime/SailorMoon''. The narration says it was love at first sight and shaped her perception of Japanese culture. So when Akaya showed up to recruit her, she immediately said "Yes" simply because he was from Japan (with the added promise that he'd take her to see Comiket).

* GenderBender: Celia's Inverse ability allows her to switch the sexes of herself any others' she wants. She, however, identifies as a girl.

She also becomes one of the girls most aggressively pursuing Takeru...which leads to another issue with her portrayal. Early on, Takeru notes that he feels no attraction to Syria and doesn't understand why, with the implication that he instinctively realized she wasn't "actually" a girl. This later gets resolved when he says he doesn't care what gender she was before she became Syria, but that doesn't counteract his initial gut reaction.

Venus Academy is introduced in episode 7 (chapter 8 in the manga) as a group of foreign students visiting Tenbi Academy. Not much is known about their school, though its staff and students seem to be knowledgeable about Kamigari's activities.

They're both combat specialists at their respective schools ([[KickChick specializing in kicks]]), both are remarkably strong, equally resilient, and excel in speed. Plus, they're both proud and each has a competitive streak a mile wide.

* SuperSpeed: Yan-Min is implied to be the manga's fastest character, given she's capable of leave afterimages while merely toying with the enemy, as seen when she fought Kai Kuragasa.
