* GoroawaseNumber: Similar to game developer [=Suda51=], Kuroto has a fondness for using the numbers 9-6-10 (kyu-ro-to) as a visual shorthand for his first name. This quirk leads to his undoing in ''Gorider'', when Emu uses the abbreviation to leave himself a clue as to who the mastermind behind the events of the mini-series is.

** His Reset ability returns things to what they were like at a previous point in time. This includes things ''he'' did, and thus reverts his ''own'' actions along with everyone else's, such as him swiping the Riders transformation devices and Nico being infected by the the Gamedeus Virus. Also, memories are uneffected, meaning while it got rid of Hyper Muteki, there was nothing stopping Kuroto from just making a new one from scratch since he remembered how to.

* HopeCrusher: One of Kuroto's M.O.'s in order to increase the stress from his Bugster infectees, and a means of fueling his revival attempt in ''Gorider''. He later drops this following his resurrection and subsequent {{Revenge}} on Parado.

* {{Dehumanization}}: He refers to characters by the name of the Gashat they use, rather than their human/Bugster or Rider names; for example, he calls his own son "Dangerous Zombie" rather than "Kuroto" or even "Genm". The one exception is Ex-Aid, who he refers to by his Rider name upon acquiring ''Hyper Muteki'', but switches to calling him by the name of the Gashat when Emu can no longer use it and is thus no longer a threat to him once more. Furthermore, Masamune refers to killing people as "discontinuing" them, as shown with his PostMortemOneLiner to Loverica, and his threat to Snipe and Nico.

%%* EngineeredHeroics: To maintain and boost the player base of ''Kamen Rider Chronicle'', he helps Ride Players "win" against the Bugsters that infected them so their resulting feelings of victoriousness will encourage them to promote the game to other people.

* {{Narcissist}}: Has all the symptoms of a malignant narcissist. He has a complete LackOfEmpathy for anyone that's not him, to the point even getting his own father thrown in jail as part of a hostile take over, but is quite capable of pretending he does; has an extremely over inflated opinion of himself to the point of a GodComplex; and views the Riders as all being disposable 'play testers' for his schemes he's entitled to manipulate however he pleases. Most tellingly, however, is he's prone to particularly violent narcissistic rages whenever something is introduced to 'his game' that he himself is not responsible for making, such as the ''Mighty Brothers XX'' Gashat and Burgermon, both of which are from games he didn't personally create. He's also not only willing to murder people for minute slights, he's shown to take a level of sadistic joy from it.

* MeaningfulName: One meaning of Masamune can be "True Origin", fitting given his status as the other PatientZero. It can also mean "True Religion", fitting his gigantic GodComplex.

* TheSociopath: A high functioning example, but an example none the less. Particularly given the only emotions he seems capable of genuinely showing are sadistic joy and rage when slighted (fitting the shallow emotions symptom), and him viewing everyone except himself as 'products' rather than people to the point of being willing to make them 'out of stock' without a moments regret if it suits him. He's also able to pretend to be an up standing CEO and play the system such as his son and Parado did all the set up for his plan without him being legally considered responsible for it. And of course, like his son, he has a rather pronounced GodComplex.

* FatBestFriend: A hefty guy and Taiga's best friend.
** [[spoiler: In fact, he cares about Taiga so much when Taiga took it upon himself to become Snipe to save Saki, he rushed out of his hospital bed to CR to show him the after-effects of using the Gashat he was keeping secret to not worry him further. *** Looking at it further, it can't even really be said that Masamune manipulated Emu into killing Parado. While Masamune simply forced a situation that pushed Emu into needing to kill Parado, Emu himself simply used the situation to engineer the Bugster's HeelFaceTurn via playing into the latter's recent fear of mortality, while having a way for Parado to survive his supposed killing. In short, Masamune got OutGambitted hard right there.
