* BoobsOfSteel: One of the strongest characters in the show and has a very large bust she barely covers. [[spoiler: Fittingly, when she is turned back to her normal form her breasts shrink tremendously]].

* DarkSkinnedRedhead: She has dark violet skin and scarlet hair.

* CluckingFunny: When her first form's face appears on the second form.

* CryCute: Whenever he sheds tears, expect Pochiro to cross into {{Moe}} territory.

* GentleGiant: He's large and muscular but he's easily the most gentle tiger you'll see in an anime. He has a soft spot with kids.

* ThinksLikeARomanceNovel: It comes in handy at times.

* EasternZodaic: Represents the Tiger.

* TheCorrupter: It was revealed that they were part of the first Mugen that fell long ago. The Eto Rangers fought evil versions of characters from ''Urashima Taro'' and ''The Wizard of Oz'' during the final episodes.

* TeamChef: The one usually in-charge on making the Eto Rangers' meal.

* QuirkyMinibossSquad: Just as powerful as Nyanma. Often takes more than one Eto Ranger to defeat one of them.

* BecomingTheMask: Had posed as an ally for the Eto Rangers twice. The second time, she ends up slowly feeling like a friend who has cruelly uses them. This feeling plays part in her HeelFaceTurn.

* InvincibleVillain: Bakumaru barely stands a chance against her in a one-on-one fight. He and the rest of the Eto Rangers would have been wiped out if not for Princess Aura and [[spoiler: Jyuken]].

* DiedInYourArmsTonight: [[spoiler:Lydia dies on Princess Aura's arms before being reincarnated as Kirinda.]]

* MrExposition: Gives a brief description of a story based on the Novel World the Eto Rangers are going to, but they occasionally hijack this from him. He also explains why Jyarei Monsters don't impersonate main characters easily.

* TheTrickster: Prefers to deceive and set traps against the Eto Rangers.

* InfantImmortality: [[spoiler:He's one of only three Etorangers who survives Nyanma's onslaught near the end of the series.]]

* SweetSheep: In the most literal sense. Rarely ever fights, very friendly and innocent. Plus, she's an actual sheep.

* ThePrankster
* ShooOutTheClowns: [[spoiler: He's the resident prankster of the series. When Nyanma kills him off, all comedic scenes ceased until the epilogue which happened shortly after his resurrection]].

* LivingShip: A sentient vessel that carries the Eto Rangers throughout the Novel Worlds. Was revealed to been [[spoiler: reincarnated from a previous life. Was revived and turned back to normal in the final episode]].

* {{Reincarnation}}: Kirinda was later revealed to be [[spoiler: Mugen Times reporter Lydia, reborn as the Eto Rangers' vessel by Aura, after being killed by Nyanma.]]

* AcePilot: Two of her three episodes consist of piloting mechas. One of them a dark version of Kirinda.

* {{Adorkable}}: An interesting case. Most of the time, he's a badass comedian but there are times where he shows a cuter, much more laid back and comedic side to his personality. Just look at him while he's dressed in his baker, pilgrim and punk rocker outfits from the Hansel And Gretel, Bluebird Of Happiness and Bremen Town Musicians episodes, respectively. He's extremely adorable.

* FlatCharacter: The least developed and most OutOfFocus Eto Ranger, with his only screentime amounting to his transformation upon [[BullSeeingRed seeing the color red]] and being in drag twice.

* ActionSurvivor: She's not really much of a fighter but is not afraid to get into action if the situation calls for it.

* BerserkButton: Insulting her beauty (or big butt).

* ButtMonkey: One of the more frequent receivers of slapstick and is perhaps the least respected member of the team
* GenderBender: He has cross-dressed twice in the series, though not intentionally. He even sported a pair or breasts along with this.
* FatComicRelief: Usually, he's played more for laughs than for drama and is often a source of comedy.

* [[spoiler:TheOnlyOneAllowedToDefeatYou]]: During the final episodes, he attempts to finish off Nyanma, even after learning the [[spoiler: she is his old friend Chocolat, as she (and by extension, one of her Elite) had already killed off half of his team. He is distracted by an illusion she used, long enough for her to deliver a critical blow against him.]]

* ReluctantFanserviceGirl: A victim of this for just a few seconds in episode 3.

* {{Expy}}: In terms of personality and his clothing, he bares more than a passing resemblance to [[Literature/JourneyToTheWest Son Wukong]]. He even takes the role in mission based on that story's world.

* MissFanservice: Second form (Human). Tart is seen more often here after its debut.

* BigGood: Aura gave the Etorangers their task of restoring the Novel Worlds to normal, and all of the Etorangers greatly look up to her.

* DragonInChief: Starts as the BigBad who commands the Jyarei Monsters to corrupt the Novel Worlds and destroy the Novel Pole. While she still does this, it's soon revealed that Nynama takes orders from Bagi.

* TheDragon: [[spoiler:Nyanma is this to Bagi, though at first she seems like the Big Bad for most of the series.]]
