* KillEmAll: All of those with Karamazov fall to Daemonettes, save for the Canoness.

* AmbiguousDisorder: Cain is an unusual example as his issues could've been easily identified if he wasn't in the Imperial Guard and Commissarat. In canon, Cain's first assignment was with an artillery regiment. As a Commissar, he is supposed to be fearless and Cain buys into that grand lie. When the artillery regiment came under direct attack, he panicked and ran away, abandoning his men without his leadership. Due to that event, Cain developed what would probably be classified as PTSD, survivor's guilt, and imposter syndrome and would believe himself a DirtyCoward for the rest of his career. [[note]]As anyone can tell you, if an artillery unit is under direct fire things have well and truly hit the fan and panic is understandable for a green warrior in those circumstances, even a Commissar. Instead of being caught, however, he accidently ran into the nob leading the attack who had left himself dangerously exposed in his eagerness to get into a fight. Upon killing him in a desparate battle, he was praised and given awards and Cain was smart enough to not mention his momentary cowardice. As stated, this led to his mental issues. He would never think that the brave face he put on is the standard that all great leaders have and neither would he consider his willingness to carry on despite his fears as courage, always thinking that he was just trying to avoid the most dangerous sections of the fighting. In the end, Cain would even see his own self-deprecation to be a sign of his "self-centered" nature and not legitimate self-reflection. In fact, in canon, he internally mocked the idea of someone assassinating him as he is just a Commissar and not the grand leader of the army, completely missing the fact that the loss of someone as famous as himself would ''destroy'' his army's morale entirely.[[/note]]

* CharacterExaggeration: Downplayed, surprisingly enough by the standards of the show. He's done far more impressive feats in canon so his actions against the Orks sounds exactly like what he typically does. His intense HeroicSelfDeprecation however? Far more pronounced.

A glowing child with the voice of a man who rides a reed boat. Implied to be the Emperor's lost soul or the embodiment of his discarded compassion and humanity that he needed to lose in order to lead the Imperium.

* AbsurdlyBrightLight: After [[spoiler:fusing with Fyodor he emits a light so bright that it can be seen throughout the entirety of the Warp, outside the Eye of Terror, and the ''entire fucking galaxy''.]]
* ActuallyPrettyFunny: He can't help but chuckle when he realizes the Dark Eldar have left a "Welcome to Commorragh" sign where the only way to see it would be entry through the Gate of Khaine.
* AintTooProudToBeg: Upon learning that all of his companions, not just Draigo, are being set by the Drukhari to fight to the death in the Crucibael Arena, he made a passionate plea for Vect to release them, to no avail.
* AllLovingHero: [[spoiler:He disarms Asdrubael Vect, one of the most evil and sadistic people in the galaxy, with nothing but [[NiceGuy politeness]] and [[YouAreBetterThanYouThinkYouAre genuine compliments]]. Even when Vect [[AndYourLittleDogToo exploits his compassion to hurt him,]] the Star Child reacts with worry and disappointment rather than anger, continuing to make appeals to the Overlord's better nature.]]
* BigDamnHeroes: If it weren't for him, Fyodor, Russ and what's left of the Inquisition would have perished by Skarbrand's big daemon axe.
* BigGood: He's the Emperor with a dose of self-awareness and humility, so he qualifies even more than his thronebound counterpart.
* FatalFlaw: Not just his compassion - though it's hard for it to ''not'' be a flaw when it's essentially his entire existence - but ''pride'', just like the Emperor proper. He's so certain he has the upper hand in Commorragh that he [[spoiler:doesn't catch on that Vect never actually ''agreed'' that only Kaldor Draigo would battle in the Arena, and the resulting reveal abruptly shatters his entire scheme to literally kill the Drukhari with kindness]].
* FusionDance: After taking over Fyodor, the end result is basically Fyodor with the Emperor's hair, hair color and love for the color gold.

* PowerGlows: His resurrection into Fyodor's body creates a psychic light so bright it not only utterly destroys the daemon army nearby, but it glows throughout the entire Warp and even out into the material world so far it can be seen outside the galaxy!

* StrongFamilyResemblance: In a way, you can clearly tell that he's a fragment of the Emperor considering he has the same fabulous hair as the latter does.
* TooSpicyForYogSothoth: [[spoiler:When meeting with Asdrubael Vect, the Star Child's innate goodness and compassion are so pure that they not only cause Vect to literally start falling to pieces, but the ''entire city of Commorragh'' to begging to break down as well from him radiating such genuine kindness. Unfortunately, when he finds out that his companions have been sent to fight to the death in the city arena, this ends up being reversed almost instantly.]]
* WalkingSpoiler: His arrival is the biggest and most important development in the series. His existence changes ''everything.''
* YouAreBetterThanYouThinkYouAre: [[spoiler:Towards Asdrubael Vect, the EvilOverlord of the Dark Eldar. When informed that he will be held captive and tortured as an unlimited power source for the city of Commoragh, the Star Child complements him for espousing, from a certain point of view, [[NiceJobFixingItVillain a pretty noble goal]]. The suffering of a PhysicalGod would free the Dark Eldar from their HorrorHunger, invalidating their need to torment other living creatures and making the galaxy a significantly better place.
