* ShaggyDogStory: Later chapters reveal the Eclipse Plan was doomed to fail no matter what happened, as Zeref was revealed to be the creator of the Eclipse Gate. Killing him before he became immortal or built the gate would cause a GrandfatherParadox, leaving time stuck in an endless loop. It's for that reason Zeref himself never used the gate for his own plans, instead opting to use the power of Fairy Heart in conjunction with a TimeRift to overwrite the timeline entirely. Essentially, all the damage Hisui indirectly caused with her plan in the Grand Magic Games arc truly was AllForNothing.

* DidntThinkThisThrough: While well-intended, Hisui's plan to open Eclipse was horribly reckless as it resulted in several dragons coming through. Judging from later comments on Eclipse, this could have been corrected if there was someone in the past to manage whatever troubles would arise on the other side.
