* KickTheSonOfABitch: His first on-screen human kill is Arlen, and while it will have some lasting effects on his kids. Arlen definitely deserved some karmic punishment for his actions.

* CoolGuns: Out of most of the cast, he's probably used the most varied firearms in the series. From his trademark dual Glock 22s, a double-barreled shotgun, various revolvers, a Mauser C96 and a hunting rifle to name a few.

Lizzie's fiance and cubicle stiff. Abandoned his partner in the heat of the moment in fear of her getting them both killed. Now restling with regrets; he knows he's probably boned. [[spoiler:He along withMarcy end up joining the Harbor City Hornets (a.k.a. the Yellow Ponchos)]].

* ApologeticAttacker: Apologizes after asking for Trevor's keys by gunpoint and also shooting at their keg tap to prove himself. The keg tap being destroyed may have been accidental however.
* DramaticIrony: Unbeknownst to him [[spoiler:his girlfriend has gotten over his disappearance, sold off her wedding ring and has now found a girlfriend. So his RedemptionQuest is gonna be for naught if he reunites with Liz. If that wasn't enough, he and Marcy end up joining the Harbor City Hornets, a faction that Liz and her crew don't have a high opinion of and are most likely butting heads with]].
* MercyKill:[[http://deadwinter.cc/page/14 Nearly does this to his fiance]] at the beginning of the zombie apocalypse, since he believes she doesn't have what it takes to survive, thankfully he couldn't pull himself through enough to do it.

* OneSidedArmWrestling: Ends up in one against Dale when she taunts him and presses his BerserkButton.

** A BadassInANiceSuit, a HandCannon and a butterfly knife? It's almost like he's a [[JustForPun dead ringer]] for the [[VideoGame/TeamFortress2 Spy]].

* DyingMomentOfAwesome: Nothing more awesome [[spoiler:than dying trying to take out as much of a horde as possible and using himself as bait, while also praying Hail Mary as he's being eaten alive. But then an [[[http://www.deadwinter.cc/page/74 intermission strip]] comes around and gives him ''another'' [[BadassBoast Dying Badass Boast]]

* BoobsOfSteel: While she's not exactly the bustiest female in the series. She's at [[http://www.deadwinter.cc/page/149 an ample c-cups]] and kicks a lot of ass.

* RatedMForManly: Can't get much manlier than a big burly Russian fending off zombies and rival assassins with a sawed-off bolt-action rifle and his bare fists.

* CosyCatastrophe: Thanks to quite a lot of factors, Tombstone's residents live a decently normal life. Roofs above their heads, beds to sleep on, tasty Chinese food from the Jade Garden, being assigned jobs by Mr. Malloy to help do their part, the Gravekeepers culling the hordes and even having their own currency.
* FictionalCurrency: Instead of the usual dollars that are used, Tombstone uses it's own special ones.

* MadBomber: While not outright psycho when using her grenades, she's ''definitely'' casual and cavalier on throwing them around. Casually tossing them at hordes of zombies without any care.

* LovableCoward: He's a meek pushover but considering the people who bully him, it's not exactly hard to feel pity for him.

* AmmunitionBackpack: Snake Eye's belt-fed AK has it's belt attached all the way to [[http://www.deadwinter.cc/page/550 his backpack]].

A small shelter owned by landlady Chantelle and has a decent amount of tenants inside of it. They all have to do their part though in paying rent.

* StoutStrength: Takes part in a arm wrestling competition and is shown to be pretty good at it too. Although unfortunately she had to go up against Dale (and unwisely hit his BerserkButton).

* NiceGuy: He maybe a bit air-headed and naive, but clearly he's a good guy and wants to do his best to help people out. Wen Arlen is threatening Alice, he's more than willing to stand up for her.

** Speaking of Johnny, the reason he's even knocking on the doors of the apartment is because [[spoiler:Arlen stranded the crew by taking the keys to Lou's van and after seeing it, Johnny assumed that Monday was inside of the building.]]

* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: That said, it's all borne out of a desire to protect his children, after his wife's death and is clearly not even the least bit abusive towards them. Doesn't completely excuse his actions though.

* HandCannon: After Lizzie steals and keeps his pistol for herself. He [[http://www.deadwinter.cc/page/359 grabs himself what appears]] to be a Smith & Wesson .500 as a replacement. [[CompensatingForSomething Dale thinks he's bitter]], he also has an extra revolver that is chambered in a less stronger caliber.

* StoutStrength: He's wide, sure, but he's most likely solid muscle underneath. He's able to perform some pretty impressive feats of strength and endurance, from being able to easily cut through zombies and humans with just a kitchen knife and other fry cook utensils, but also carres around the massive pipe that took Liz and Alice to lift. His later design even adds a bit of muscle to his figure.

* TheVietnamVet: Fought back in 'Nam alongside Frank, although isn't able to show it off before he turns.

Group of survivors somewhat similar to Tombstone, but more inclined towards raiding although still willing to make something of themselves. They all wear yellow plastic ponchos and are lead by an enigmatic woman named Karen. Who gives orders in mnemonic rhyms. Their base of operations is currently Harbor City Mall, which they have turned into a cozy little nest. [[spoiler:Mary and Trevor end up joining them in one of the intermission strips]].

* BladeOnAStick: Spade was seen armed with [[ShockAndAwe an electrified spear]] when Randy recounts some of their requests.

* ShockAndAwe: The BladeOnAStick that Spade was first seen with was also electrified. Next time we see him, his new Monk's Spade also has a similar upgrade.

* GardeningVarietyWeapon: The hat-wearing member of the trio led by Marv, uses the seldom seen [[https://www.deadwinter.cc/page/581 manual polesaw]] as a weapon, wielding it like a [[SerratedBladeOfPain Serrated]] [[BladeOnAStick spear]] with [[http://www.deadwinter.cc/page/588 pretty good efficiency]] in a fight.

* SwordAndFist:A variant, he uses both his baseball bat and fists when needed in a fight.

** While Monday isn't really a people person and is usually in a anti-social mood with an air of unpleasantness[[note]]Although he is pretty good at deceiving and being dishonest with people, able to change his demeanor and personality to make his work easier[[/note]]. Johnny is charismatic and friendly man, being pretty affable to most people as long as you don't cause problems for him.
* TheGunslinger: Just like Monday, he runs around with two handguns, although as a contrast to Blues' modern Glocks. Rhythm arms himself with a pair of Schofield revolvers.

* TheCoatsAreOff: Drops his coat when cornered and realizing the undead don't care for "bu-llets".

* HuskyRusskie: The webcomic's local Russian and absolute beefcake at that. According to the cast page and extra comics, ''he actually fought a bear''.

* StupidCrooks: Sloppy Joe is a clumsy hitman whom never watches his back, only focuses on the outcome that'll go well for him, outsources his work and never learned the important lessons on his choice of work.

* MoreDakka: The glasses-wearing goon uses an Colt M1921AC Thompson with an drum magazine.\

* StupidCrooks: Their not exactly any smarter than their boss, although only one at least seems to take their job seriously.

* DyingMomentOfAwesome: Nothing more awesome [[spoiler:than dying trying to take out as much of a horde as possible and using himself as bait. While also praying Hail Mary as he's being eaten alive. * HeroicSacrifice: [[spoiler:Thanks to his infected leg and the house they were in being steadily overrun. He is forced to not only fight the horde but also act as bait, for Alice and Liz to escape. And he pulls a pretty badass sacrifice at that]].

* OddFriendship: One is a reverend sniper while other is a Russian bruiser, despite their differences they work together quite well.
* ScarfOfAsskicking: Wears a scarf to keep himself warm and a BadassPreacher what else could you ask for?

* NotUsingTheZWord: Actively enforced, the cast page is adamant about it and from the looks of it. Zombie fiction never took or or even existed in this universe.

* EvilVsEvil: While they aren't exactly evil in a traditional sense, with most of them really just trying to survive. They don't really care about other survivors outright robbing them under the pretense of "upholding the law". They naturally ended up butting heads with the local Army/National Guard that it [[spoiler:turned into full blown turf war thanks to some misunderstandings]].

* ImprobableAimingSkills: [[http://deadwinter.cc/page/478 She's definitely one ohell of a sharpshooter.]] [[ShootTheRope Shooting the Rope]] while hanging out the window of a moving car? That's driving across the grass in the middle of a ''park''? Her father definitely trained her well.

* ThePollyanna: She's always the most optimistic member of the group and at times admonishes Monday's pessismitic and cynical attitude.

* WeAreStrugglingTogether: On the outside while it appears the community is tight-knit and close. Some of it's defenders usually don't get along, such as Sheriff Tanner butting heads with the Gravekeepers whom are under Mayor Richardson's payroll and the Gate-B Gatekeepers ''really'' not liking the former either.

* AtomicFBomb: Fires off a loud one with even a [[http://deadwinter.cc/page/183 imaginatory mushroom cloud]] for good effect.

* BaldOfEvil: While it's unknown if he's outright evil (the fact that Tombstone even became a thing thanks to his work is enough evidence to show he ain't all bad). He is definitely a shifty character, that raises eyebrows.

* BaldOfEvil: Bishop has no hair on his head and being a part of the Gravekeepers he's certainly this.

* {{Jerkass}}: They're young, rowdy and rambunctious as it gets. Thanks to the fact that they have the mayor of Tombstone backing them up, they act like spoiled teenagers with guns and are as unpleasant to be around as it sounds. They regularly [[http://www.deadwinter.cc/page/526 bully]] [[http://www.deadwinter.cc/page/550 Randy]] after he worked up the gut to tell them off after their ideas got crazier and crazier. Not liking it one bit and shooting a finger off to keep forcing him on making weapons.

* ShotgunsAreJustBetter: Chip is armed with one shortened one that also has a heat shield.

** As stated above, Dr. Parker usually has to make do with whatever she has on hand. Speaking off, she's usually seen holding a hand saw/panel saw in hand. Doesn't take a genius to know what she uses it for.

* BroomstickQuarterstaff: We see Laurel arming herself with a broom while fighting back the horde. Seems like we can see where Lizzie gets her choice of weaponry frrom.

* KilledOffScreen: Happens to poor Wanda, especially considering Jake is all alone and there's a cross next to her name. Plus the fact that the hospital they were in was definitely one of the few that got hid ''hard'' by the start of the Apocalypse.

Monday's mother. An old-world assassin who specializes in poisons and practices Mithridatism. Took an unwitting ordinary man for a husband and make her exit from her old trade. You can clearly tell from which side of the family Monday gets his choice of work.
Makes a ''breathtaking'' cup of tea.

When Trevor finds out that he left his fiance for an asinine reason, not only does Trevor destroy the tap of one of their kegs. But also takes the car that ''had a spare tap inside of it''. Granted that last parts were unknowingly done by Trevor, but still quite karmic.]]

* SmokingIsCool: Is almost always seen with a fancy cigar in his mouth. It's brand looks good enough that Monday wants a piece.

* NiceGuy: He maybe a bit air-headed and naive, but clearly he's a good guy and wants to do his best to help people out. And when Arlen is threatening Alice, he's more than willing to stand up for her.

* FatalFlaw: His paranoia and overprotective-ness, plus his habit of pulling his gun out and having a twitchy trigger finger. [[spoiler:It finally gets him killed when he meets someone who's quicker to the draw.]]

* UngratefulBastard: Full stop, even after the main crew go out of their way to stick their necks out and risk their lives to gather some well-needed supplies for the shelter and it's tenants. He managed to sow seeds of doubt in Arlene's mind while they were out, and it was enough to [[spoiler:force her to kick out the group. If that wasn't enough, he also had the gal of stealing the keys from Lou's car, which leaves the group stranded and van-less. That last part is just uncalled for.]]

* ChildrenAreInnocent: Even when stuck inside of a apartment that's not exactly in the best condition. Plus zombies outside that regularly need to be culled. They're still little rays of sunshine that some of the tenants (especially Liz, Alice and Jeremy). Definitely enjoy as company despite being rambunctious and excitable.

* HeroicBuild: Out of the [=OmniMart=] group, he's got one of the sturdier, taller and stronger builds out of the group. Mixed in with his [[TheStoic stoicness]], havihg a cool calm head on his shoulders and overall badass-ery. Is why he's one of the more well respected members of the survivor group in comparison to Ron.

* OffWithHisHead: After his infection, turning, and then Frank's sanity slippage, he was decapitated. [[http://deadwinter.cc/page/93 Then had his head attached to the former's belt]]. Judging by some pages later in the Webcomic, the head might still be not ''dead-dead''.

The lowest-ranking assasin of note in the city (probably right beside "Sloppy Joe"). Oi-punk, failed musicion, shoulda listened to mom and been a doctor instead.

* TooDumbToLive: He may be old, but that doesn't mean he's one of the best in the business. He's outsourced his work so much that he never really learned anything. Only thinking of the blinding and glaring obvious, not even making sure to watch his back and make sure he's in the clear.

* StupidCrooks: Their not exactly any smarter than their boss, although the only one at least seems to take their job seriously.

* ChekhovsGun: Unfortunately, his hat is a negative one. [[spoiler:When soldiers from the army sees Alice wearing it "backwards cap"-style. It starts a war between the remaining police officers and army.]]

* CorruptCop: While they aren't exactly "corrupt", choosing to become over-glorified bandits while still using their police equipment and vehicles to rob survivors don't exactly make them good people either.
* EvilVsEvil: Although they're not necessarily "evil" but a good amount of them are really just trying to survive for themselves and don't really care about other survivors. Butting heads with the local Army/National Guard that it [[spoiler:turned into full blown war thanks to some misunderstandings]].

* GatlingGood: One of the Guardsmen in the [[https://deadwinter.cc/page/extra017 mini]]-[[https://deadwinter.cc/page/extra052 comics]] are armed with this. With a good dosage of ChainsawGripBFG.

* CasualDangerDialog: The crew sometimes engages with this even when surrounded by the undead. Although they don't let their guard down too much and watch each other's backs.

* DeviousDagger: His specialty, he's not called "The Dirk" for nothing. He's quite well versed with most kinds of knives, especially the throwing kind.

* SlapstickKnowsNoGender: She's not safe from being one of the comic's main {{Butt Monkey}}s.

* WeaponOfChoice:
** She has a fondness for mops. Having used one extensively during her work in Frank's Diner, even taking it when she quits her job. When Frank himself breaks the mop, she is more than willing to grab a different one rather than upgrading to something more practical. Although it does fit her TechnicalPacifist tendencies, thanks to being a surprisingly sturdy blunt object.
** She later adds Clark's M1911 pistol as her next weapon of choice, giving her a ranged option when needed be. [[GunAccessories The attached flashlight]] also helps.

* BroomstickQuarterStaff: After losing her frying pan and Lizzie being needed to get into [=OmniMart=] through the [[AirVentPassageway air vents]]. She [[http://www.deadwinter.cc/page/278 borrows]] her girlbro's WeaponOfChoice for [[http://www.deadwinter.cc/page/280 a while]] to [[http://www.deadwinter.cc/page/295 fend off]] the undead.

* WeaponOfChoice: She carries frying pans as her melee weapon of choice. But soon finally gets to show off her marksmanship, after clearing things up with the [=OmniMart=] employees and the former letting the group take what they need. She [[http://www.deadwinter.cc/page/357 arms herself]] with a [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kel-Tec_SUB-2000 Kel-Tec SUB 2000]]. A pistol-caliber carbine with it's most distinguishing feature is it's ability to fold in half for easier storage and transportation. Later on she also wraps Lizzie's old red Union Jack bandana around the barrel.

* WeaponOfChoice: What appears to be a lever-action rifle.

* WeaponOfChoice: His first pistol is a M1911 pistol chambered in .45 ACP, it was supposed to be a matching anniversary gift between him and Melody. He later replaces it with a [=S&W=] .500 after Lizzie steals it and keeps it for herself.

* WeaponOfChoice: As a sort of anniversary gift the two have, she and Clark armed themselves with matching M1911 pistol with an underbarrel flashlight attachment.

* WeaponOfChoice: What appears to be a scoped hunting rifle chambered in [[http://www.deadwinter.cc/page/137 Winchester .308]], and he's got great aim with that thing.

* BroomstickQuarterstaff: Her iconic WeaponOfChoice, A mop she's grown proficient not only in her days as a waitress but also being forced to use it throughout the zombie apocalypse. While Frank does break the one she used throughout her time in his Diner. She picks up a replacement when going out of Chantelle's Birch Street Apartment. The weapon works well with her Pacifistic lifestyle.

* AnAxeToGrind: Adds a hatchet with a sheath on his belt for it, when giving himself a slight makeover during the crew's rest at [=OmniMart=]. Mixed in with his suit and it makes for a pretty great VisualPun. [[spoiler:He's a Hatchetman]].

* AnAxeToGrind: As his melee WeaponOfChoice when trying to survive the apocalypse. [[spoiler:He tries to use it to kill Lizzie in her sleep, in a belief she won't be able to survive it. Thankfully he doesn't go through]].

* CoolHat: Both Snake Eye and Chip wear some neat headgear, with Snake Eye's even having a pitchfork logo.

* [[NiceGuy Nice Girl]]: She's friendly and rather calm, easily allowing her and Trevor to get along pretty well.

* CoolHat: Befitting his skater dude appearance and personality, he wears a snappy baseball cap.

* CoolHat: Wears a baseball cap with a pretty slick design and has a huge skull symbol on it.

* CoolHat: Wears a pretty slick cap on his noggin.

* CoolHat: His large cap that for the most part covers his eyes in shadow.

* CoolHat: Wouldn't be a cowboy with out some snazzy wild western headwear.

* CoolHat: Wears a police patrol cap (with the word '''POLICE''' written on it) that Alice takes as a TragicKeepsake when he commits a [[spoiler:HeroicSacrifice for the two ladies]].

* CoolHat: Wears a pretty suave flat cap to cover the top of his skull.

* CoolHat: A lot of them have different headwear, usually different kinds of police caps/hats.

* BadassLongCoat: Has a preference for these [[http://deadwinter.cc/page/88 and an eye for them too]]. After killing some highwaymen, he comments that one of them had a nice coat and nabs it for himself. During their rest at [=OmniMart=], Alice sews on a Medical Cross on the back of the coat.
* BatterUp: [[http://deadwinter.cc/page/019 Monday]] shows [[http://deadwinter.cc/page/021 proficiency]] with a baseball bat. He even calls out some baseball plays, although granted that was mostly because he was bored and tired all to hell. He later discards it however.
* BeenThereShapedHistory: ''Apparently'' [[http://deadwinter.cc/page/77 Monday is responsible]] for the deaths of [[spoiler: Anna Nicole Smith, John F. Kennedy Jr., and Kenneth Lay]].
* BoomHeadshot: Loves [[http://deadwinter.cc/page/013 delivering]] [[http://deadwinter.cc/page/038 these]] as a coup de grâce to his living [[http://deadwinter.cc/page/333 opponents]], but is more than capable of giving these to the [[http://www.deadwinter.cc/page/211 zeds]] too. * EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: He was armed with a switchblade instead of his usual butterfly knife and was also formerly given the title of "The Fixer" before "The Cleaner" was settled on.
