This is in spite of the fact said monsters gain a lot of credible mention in the news and his own friend saw one. {{Subverted}} when he warns Charo and Alesea to be careful about the monsters; his denial was more about being dismissive than certain.

One day, she comes across a daffodil hairpin displayed at the window of a shop for £3. One encounter with a monster later, she discovers it allows her to transform into a superhero. She takes on the name Dame Daffodil and devotes herself to fighting monsters and saving people (more than she already was, at any rate).
