Lacking certain gadgets such as the connection with JARVIS (or SID, or any other of Stark's A.I.s) and believed to be less advanced overall (in comparison with the Transhumanist super-tech used on the armors from the Extremis onwards), its modular component design provides her with immense flexibility to tinker around and experiment with new technologies... which allows for a degree of ConfusionFu and even creating quirks that only she knows how to deal with (no better way to stop someone from stealing it than "OnlyICanMakeItGo").
