History BLAM / Webcomics

* In one strip of DarthsAndDroids (done on April Fools Day, that context can get lost when reading the entire series), during the ''AttackOfTheClones'' sequence, Padme "dies" in the desert. The scene then abruptly shifts to screencaps of the scene from ''Film/ThePrincessBride'' where the Grandson argues with Grandpa over Westley's death (only now they're arguing about Padme's). To make it even more confusing, Grandpa has the yellow speech balloons that indicates he's the GM, while the Grandson has the white speech balloons of a roleplayer. And the Grandson even calls him "Grandpa". (Is the GM a grandfather?!) Keep in mind, this strip is supposed to be about a bunch of players at a TabletopRPG.

** During the end of Act 4, [[spoiler: The [[MoodWhiplash complete destruction of two planets]] is interrupted by a [[SuddenVideoGameMoment video game... with singing Squiddles???]] It's explained that they're subconscious manifestation of the [[EldritchAbomination Horrorterrors]] half an act later, offering the protagonists a dream-state separate from the rapidly-Crapsackifying Derse and Prospit,]] but]] this still doesn't explain the appearance in the End of Act 4 flash.

* During the end of Act 4 in ''Webcomic/{{Homestuck}}'', [[spoiler: The [[MoodWhiplash complete destruction of two planets]] is interrupted by a [[SuddenVideoGameMoment video game... with singing Squiddles???]]]]
** [[ChekhovsGun Then an act and a half later]] the [[spoiler: singing Squiddles show up again, and it's explained that they're subconscious manifestation of the [[EldritchAbomination Horrorterrors]], offering the protagonists a dream-state separate from the rapidly-Crapsackifying Derse and Prospit.]] Our heroes don't seem to be too thrilled about this.
** Later, [[AuthorAvatar Andrew Hussie]], being [[Letters2Numbers manipul8ed]] by Vriska, participates in a [[Film/TheNeverendingStory Neverending Story]] shout out by riding Falcor (who has rapidly cycling pool ball eyes for some tangentially plot-related reason), who then barfs on some bullies.
*** Strangely enough, this BLAM is actually a BrickJoke - the bullies were mentioned earlier, in a similar fourth-wall breaking interlude.
*** Got referenced later, with a comment that Falcor had to be put down due to rabies.
** And then it has Andrew Hussie mourning over the death of a character from ''Hook''. [[LampshadeHanging Which resulted in the largest "THIS IS STUPID" yet.]]
** Did Hussie [[spoiler:proposing to Vriska]] have any foreshadowing, despite being a meme? Granted, they mentioned it again, but, without the context of the meme, it seems to come out of nowhere.

** And then there is Act 6: Act 5: Act 2, an extended MushroomSamba so bizarre that both the AuthorAvatar narrator ''and'' the BigBad narrator are left speechless, save for a few [[FlatWhat flat whats]].

* Pretty much any {{XKCD}} strip that involves [[CloudCuckoolander Beret Guy]]. Even in a series known for zaniness and little plot continuity, he and his train of thought are ''so'' over-the-top strange as to delve straight into {{BLAM}} territory.

Mulberry squishes the characters before they can actually go find Jack, and she never tells anyone that she met them.

* This was an unfortunate result of Dan of ''ElGoonishShive'' declaring that he's [[LighterAndSofter bringing silly back]]. One of the first tries involved Sarah calling for the Demonic Duck for absolutely no logical reason, leading to a bizarre exchange, that ends with the duck jumping out of the car, and the conversation picking up from exactly the same spot it left off, wasting a whole page, plus two panels on basically nothing.

* In ''Webcomic/GunnerkriggCourt'', while Antimony, Parley, Andrew, Reynardine, and Jones are viewing a simulation of the founding of the Court, Jones takes flowers from a bouquet that Dr. Disaster gave her and hands them out to the other four, leaving them understandably confused. It is never explained why the generally stoic and emotionless Jones would do something like this.

** WordOfGod says this scene was originally part of a BrickJoke, with different characters coming later to lecture Jack, but the second scene would have disrupted the flow.
