The movie will be about the origin of the Saiyans and their relationship with Frieza. It will involve a continuation of the ''Anime/DragonBallSuper'' storyline that ended with the Tournament of Power. As well, we get to see the immense power of the Super Saiyan Blues take on the power of the Legendary Super Saiyan as Goku and Vegeta square off against Broly.
The movie marks the first time in the franchise where series director Creator/TadayoshiYamamuro will not be involved in any way regarding the film animated direction. Series author Creator/AkiraToriyama is heavily involved in the film.
