openYou know that show about making a show?
The show was a half hour format, made in Canada, and maybe set in Canada, about the behind the scenes workings of making a television show. The show was awful, but people always came through in the end. It was basically the studio succeeding in spite of itself. I remember it was very funny, but can't remember the name of the show... Would like to see if it's available to watch....
openSci Fi Anthology Book from the '80s Literature
I'm looking for the title of a book of science fiction short stories that I borrowed from my middle school's library in the mid to late 1980s.. I think it was a new book at the time — I remember the school librarian made a point of mentioning it to us. (Though it could just as easily have been a reprint or, since it was a public school library, a much older book that was just in good condition.)
I remember two of the short stories vividly. In one, a family's spaceship crash lands on an uninhabited planet. The parents die, so four siblings have to figure out how to survive. The biggest challenge is food — on Earth, everyone eats processed cubes provided by the government. The end of the story jumps to many years later. The family figured out how to farm, hunt and fish. The younger siblings flourished and grew to be much taller than their older siblings, who are revealed to be just four feet tall. The narrator explains it's because the older siblings had grown up eating the processed Earth food, which was laced with chemicals to stunt humanity's growth. They switched to natural foods too late to reverse the process, but the younger siblings were able to grow to their full potential.
The other story I remember is a first-person story about a boy who is going to meet the robot that determines everyone's role in society. He goes into the room and is surprised how lifelike and grandfatherly the robot is, except for its red eyes. After a brief chat, the robot asks the boy what he wants to do with his life. The boy honestly answers that he desires to kill things. The robot essentially says, "OK," and has someone escort the boy out of the room. The story then ends... the last thing we learn is that the boy sees the robot "power down," and realizes it's nothing more than a machine after all. There's no clue about the boy's ultimate fate.
You'd think with this much detail, there'd be a relevant Trope or Google result somewhere. I'm hoping these stories appeared in other works, so even the title of just one could send me in the right direction.

openDont know the title, dragon something i guess Film
Is a movie about some dudes ,in the classic dungeon and dragons medieval-fantasy-thing world, that are going to kill a dragon, and they start training almost all the mayority of the movie, then they fight the dragon and they all die with the exception of the protagonist, who just f***ing kill the dragon because he was the choosen one. Also the actions scenes are filmed in the most borderline way i can remember, the camera was so shaky that it seemed like the movie was filmed inside a tornado.
openCartoon episode about wishes Western Animation
All I really remember from it was that they had wishes and one of them used one to turn someones mouth or nose into meat so they couldn't breathe and then they agreed to use the last wish to fix them, but someone already used it to wish for a boat and escape?
Sorry for being vague I was young when I watched it and its a blur.
openOld fairy godmother storyteller tv show Live Action TV
So there was this ,I think it was, a tv show about an old fairy godmother who used to tell tales that had morals and stuff, and there was also this puppet mouse who had white gloves, and I really want to remember what it was called. It wasn't animated btw.
openLooking for this cartoon i was obsessed with as a child
I need help finding this cartoon. I'm not sure but i think the title was the main characters surname (or self given name idek). The show is set in Europe (i do remember the girl visiting america around the time of slavery). The main character is a young girl from a rather wealthy family. both her parents die in a carriage accident. She either taken in by this older woman or her families wealth is taken by this older woman, but shes abused and pushed around by this woman. Shes eventually rescued by the family of her childhood friend and lives well. I think the series ends when her abuser confesses that she was jealous of her and dies, then jumps to her as an adult at her wedding (or some ceremony). One opening scene was the little girls mother ( a young woman with long gold hair in large curls) and the girl talking over tea on their balcony/porch.
Edited by DidacticClamopenCARS LIKE SHOW OR MOVIE Film
I think film or TV show, but the animation is similar to the Little Cars and Blaze, I saw this on TV in 2006, it was in color. All I remember is a car race, there was a very nice race car, but for some reason he annoyed the other racers. At the end, he cried help after he fell in a dip. The other race cars heard him, stopped, and feeling sorry, they joined each other bumper by bumper to pull him back up. He could have been stuck in a tar pit. As the ending credits rolled, some guy speaks about the lesson learned (I think the show was in English, but perhaps it was not, cannot remember the show, but I saw this in the US). I know this is not much to go on, but please help, I have been trying to identify this for years.
openWeird CITV game show Live Action TV
So when I was younger, everyday after school I'd used to turn the TV on to CITV. It had loads of shows in like jungle run and horrid henry that I used to really enjoy, however, there has been this one show that sticks out in my mind that I simply cannot remember the name of. Basically it was a game show where the two hosts were monsters, I think they were puppets too, they were all furry (think sasquatches or yetis) and they supposedly lived in the cave where this took place. The contestants were all children who looked barely pre-teen (I think there were around 8-12 of them). They all had to answer general knowledge questions, if they got one wrong then they had to move forward one space. If they got 3 questions wrong then they had to stand on this grate thing. They were asked a question and if they got it wrong then the grate would flip downwards and the child would fall into some green gunge below, the mosters would take pleasure in this, exclaiming how the child had fallen into a pot for their dinner. I dont remember much after that, except for the final round; there would be one child left and they had to choose a grate to stand on. One of the grates would stay up and the rest would flip, so the child had to hope that they got lucky and if they did then they won the game. Does anyone remember the name of this show because I've looked everywhere and cant find it, I'm fairly certain it was taken off air quite quickly but if anyone can tell me what it was called that would be a great help
openTV show about a strange school Western Animation
No, it's not Wayside. I remember watching this show on the German channel Super RTL, but my memories are vague. It took place entirely within the school (at least I can't remember any scenes outside of it) and the villain was some guy living in the basement who resented the school because when he attended, he was bullied or something. He somehow had reality warping powers, so each episode, he changed the school into something new (like, I think in one episode, the school basically turned into a jungle) and because Adults Are Useless it was up to the kids to save the day. I think it was the same group of kids every episode and their leader was wearing a red baseball cap and a light blue shirt, if I remember correctly. The villain also had a sidekick/henchman called Ratticus, who was a giant talking rat.
openEarly 2000's ghost man and woman
A TV show (possible film, but almost certain TV series) where a husband dies and his ghost/spirit meets a woman (pretty sure she has short dark hair). The husband visits his family, wife baby and possible older daughter. The husband ghost tires to communicate with the family, and as he touches the baby he gets a shock. I remember at the end, the woman ghost and the man are in a park opposite a road with shops on the other side, the woman walks across the other side of the road where a bus passes in front of her and then she is gone. I think its a British show which aired in the early to mid 2000's, I was only young at the time so don't remember much, but I can picture the bus scene since then. It's been bugging me for years. Thanks
Edited by ceparkeropenBritish 2000s science show Live Action TV
For years now i have been unable to remember the name of a kids science show that must have aired on a channel such as citv or cbbc and the one statement that stood out was that it claimed scientists didnt know what caused hiccups. As i recall there was probably a female presenter but mainly a baldish male presenter and a lot of lab coats with small amounts of animation, specifically from the hiccup segment i recall an animation of a body using a photo of the bald presenters face bouncing on a diaphragm like a trampoline. This is all exceedingly vague but i hope someone can help
opentv show with smurfs Live Action TV

Edited by pacreaticninjaopenBoy, girl, and wizard Live Action TV
I used to love rhis show, it was a fanasy type show. It starts out with a girl going through this magic barrier to find a boy (who was originally from her land, not the one she found him in). She finds him and an old crazy man who turns out to be a powerful wizard. The all cross back through to the other side of the barrier to stop some evil king or something.
openFurry webcomic that mentions The Arcade Fire Webcomic
Sometime around 2009 or so, I recall reading this possible furry/anthro webcomic where there was this one character who was a kinda young, cute and naive. He talked about hearing news of an "Arcade Fire" and wondered if anyone survived it. Keep in mind that The Arcade Fire is the name of an actual band. I think the character was either some sort of canine (likely a dog or fox), a cat or maybe a ferret or raccoon. Also, for some reason I'm associating the strip with the word "laundry" subconciously. Can anyone help me find it or does anyone know what I'm talking about?
openMid 90s mini series: High School Boy, Time Travel, Betrayal, Dinosaurs Live Action TV
This mini-series was about a high school boy who ends up traveling back in time with a professor/doctor and a girl from the past to stop some evil guy from destroying the universe. There is an episode about dinosaurs. Near the end, it turns out the professor/doctor is the bad guy the entire time. The girl ends up getting sucked into some black hole that gets her lost in time and space. In the end, the boy wins the battle and is back in school. He finds out a girl that looked like the girl he was adventuring with is using the locker next to his. This is all I can remember. If someone can figure out the name of this show, I will be forever grateful.
openKids Show c. late 2000's
Team of robotic animals used their gears & other tech. parts to defeat enemies? Setting: they'd use a slide to get from their base to the island they needed to get tho that episode. I believe they were all floating islands.
openGenius 'competition' show Live Action TV
I remember being shown this in high school (about 3-4) years ago. It could have been a series or just a one episode style documentary. It was about different accomplished, very intelligent people, trying to see which one of them was the smartest/most creative. There where maybe 10 people on the show but I remember a few of them: one was an artist that dropped out of high school, a music prodigy, a rocket scientist, etc. It wasn't a win or lose style competition show, rather just to see how each of them problem solved. I remember two of the puzzles was how to get the cork out from inside a bottle, and list everything you can make with socks in 5 minutes. If someone could tell me what the name of this was I'd really appreciate it.
What is that advertisement where at some point a female kid fuses some bread and waffle?
