The Industry (1998-2002). The Show-Within-A-Show was called "Beaver Creek", a Canadian version of "Little House on the Prairie".
Yes! The Industry! It was originally titled Made In Canada. Doesn't look like it's available to stream, or even on DVD, more's the pity.
The show was a half hour format, made in Canada, and maybe set in Canada, about the behind the scenes workings of making a television show. The show was awful, but people always came through in the end. It was basically the studio succeeding in spite of itself. I remember it was very funny, but can't remember the name of the show... Would like to see if it's available to watch....
