openheard this in 2013 Radio
I remember hearing some song on the radio after the wreck it ralph song when I was in the back of a car. I think the station was either radio disney, or kids place live. I don't know who it was, but I think the main lyric was: "good ideas" followed by "saw/do ____" something like that. It was fairly slow, and I'm not sure what genre it was, but it sounded like a mix of pop, and a chill trap song or something. Does anybody know what it was?
resolved OffTheRails example without a link or works page Web Original
The trope page for Off the Rails has an example that does not have a work page or a link to it and I cannot find it anywhere because it has such a generic name. Does anybody know where to find the series that this example is referring to? The only other information that I have is that it is a web video series because the link to the nonexistent work page says web video.
The players manage to very quickly break their first quest during one of the early episodes of Role Play. Having retrieved a magical glass orb and an Infinity –1 Sword they attempt to have them identified before returning them to the quest giver. Since formal identification turned out to be too expensive one player decided to learn more about the orb by dropping it on the ground to see if it smashes. It did. Having failed the quest the players decided that they might as well ignore the quest giver and wander off with the powerful weapon. The GM sends an assassin after the party who seemed to be powerful enough to have killed them all in a fair fight, but they somehow manage to trip her and then pin her underneath an unconscious party member whilst impaling her through the arm. The following week the GM gave up on heavily planned quests and kept preparations brief since it was clear that his players were too unpredictable to railroad.
openCorny show I can't seem to find the name of Live Action TV
Live action show about a high school or middle school student that keeps having sci-fi scenarios happen to him. Probably from the late 90's or early 2000's. Aired in Canada. Here are some episodes I remember.
1) He orders a machine from a newspaper. When he gets the machine it is just a decorated cardboard box. He goes to the newspaper office and complains. The newspaper employee shows him that the fine print of the ad says that the machine may not look as advertised or do the things the ad saids it can. The employee then smugly saids that everything that their paper saids is true (turns out the newspaper makes things that are written in it true somehow). Some time later they are asking the protagonist how many people should die in a story they are writing. The employee thinks it should be eight because it sounds sadder to him. He asks the protagonist the question like this "what do you think sounds sadder, fourteeen or eiiiight."
2) The protagonist's older sister meets a woman that makes beauty products. At some point the sister willingly allows herself to have a plastic mask affixed to her face (she also wears a blonde wig, and maybe a pink dress that matches the woman's aswell). She looks like she is in a Halloween costume. The brother narrates "when some one loves you they'll sometimes call you a doll, but now I'm afraid that [woman's name] is trying to make my sister into her plaything." The mask will break if the sister thinks too hard. The brother decides to give her a math problem to solve (as she has a love for math). She does the math problem, the mask cracks and she peels it off.
Edited by YamopenTv show about sisters running their fathers business Live Action TV
A few years ago I watched this show about two sisters (one pretty and one ugly) who had to come together and run their fathers fashion/clothing business (i think its clothing related) and they didnt like each other very much. Details are a bit fuzzy but ive been trying to find this show again ever since!
openAnarchist life Film
About 12 years ago I watched a movie that I barely remember and have not been able to track down. The details are very fuzzy, but there were a bunch of (I think) young adults living together in a ramshackle two-story home or possibly a group of homes. Pretty sure they were anarchists but they might have been hippies, I think it was set in the 80s though. Some of them have young children. There is a line in it that talks about how raising the children completely rules-free is going to mess them up and they're all going to become CE Os or accountants or something "begging someone (or paying a dominatrix maybe?) to tell them no."
openDisturbing Kids Show Where Main Character Takes Out His Eyes Live Action TV
I watched a lot of stuff on ABC/BBC as a kid back in the late 90's, but no one but me seems to know of this show. I remember watching a show done with puppets like The Muppets that had a few characters that were animals like dogs or cats that lived in a forest I think. The big defining detail about this show was the main character (who i am pretty sure was a white wolf or something) that had the ability to remove his eyes and send them off like a bird into the sky, and they would show him stuff from really far away. It was used to help his friends get out of danger and the like, and I think later in the series he was able to do the same with his hands. It never really bothered me as a kid, but when I got a bit older I really started to wonder how something like that was approved for a kid's series. It has been bugging me for years that I can't remember the name, especially since I would actually like to watch it again (believe it or not, but the show was actually quite calming and pleasant for the most part). Is there at least someone out there who knows what the hell I'm talking about? It would be really nice to know that at least one other person came across this strange show.
Edited by ChexpetopenMini series about singing animals
Ok, so between 1994 and 2002 there was a mini series, from what I remember about short music videos about singing animals, can't remember the name but I'm sure I saw it on either teletoon or ytv. From what I remember this show featured this: -A hippy lion singing about how the world needs to change, -An arastafarian alligator (if I spelled that right) singing about his love for Africa - a waitress hippo singing about how she wants payback and get out of her job due to some scam - a tap dancing flamingo singing about how great his life is - a vampire bat girl singing about how she wants to see the sun and escape the dark castle she lives in - a news anchor turtle singing about how great the weather is - a club owner gorilla singing about how hot he is - a Jessica rabbit clone cat girl singing about something I don't remember And if I'm not mistaken, two female chickens, not sure if they were sisters or lesbians but there was a scene where they were both in wedding dresses running down the stairs waving. I can't find this show at all. Please help
openLife is a Dating Sim Anime
At one point, when i was looking at the Anime Image Source List, I came across an anime that I wanted to check out, but now I can't remember the name of it. All I remember is that the story involves a main character who would, at various points in his life, be forced to pick from a small list of choices on how to proceed, as if he was playing a Dating Sim (It's kind of like Date A Live, except instead of the multi-choice list being Kotori's method for giving Shido 'advice', this guy's life is run by it).
openChristian fantasy series? Literature
I remember a series with four books in it that had some kids travel through different dimensions/worlds. One book had a girl creating miniature people with four arms instead of two and she tries to help them but it doesn't turn out very well. There's a shortcut to avoid the long way around, but you need to be the setting's equivalent of a Christian to survive the shortcut due to it being through Heaven essentially.
openPower ranger robot apocalypse clone and a psychic girl who can turn into a puddle
Before you say it it's not power rangers zeo or rpm, the first show I am looking for features these chrom colored robots with some flashing color square on their chests lead by two giant robots, one robot can turn into a jet while the other had some fangs or something, the heros were a group of soldiers that looked like a cross between starship troopers and judge dredd and they had this phrase that had "power" in it. The other show and no it is not Sabrina, featured a girl doing all sorts of random adventures but had the ability to turn into a puddle of either water or mercery, and I think she can shoot lightning out of her fingers
openThe Order of the Stick recap
I know The Order of the Stick has a recap page, but which episode was it that produced the image source for the Webcomic Time page (if I can find the recap!)?
Edited by Merseyuser1openAnimal Cop Anime Anime
There was this anime I saw a while ago, and I've been trying to find it ever since. It was about two people, and I think they were cops or something. The two people had like animal ears and tails, and I think one of them was a rabbit and the other one may have been a fox. It's not zootopia. The cops looked human, they just had some animal features. The show was called Rabbit and Fox or something of the sort, but I'm not sure if the other character was a fox. I've looked for it on google, but I haven't found anything so it would be amazing if anyone knew what I was talking about.
openKids TV Show With Girl Named Ally (I think)
I used to watch this kiss TV show a long time ago. It's difficult to explain as I only remember a very little bit. I think the girl was named Ally, but I'm not 100% sure. And she met this creature; I don't remember what it was, but I remember she gave it a orange lolly and it started eating the wrapper because it didn't know how to eat it. I remember there was some kind of beetle or something that talks to another creature inside some grass. And I remember the creature taking the girl into it's cave or something to show her where it lived. I know this isn't much to go off but that's all I remember from the show. Also, I think it was a British show, but again I'm not 100% sure. Does anybody know what this could be?
openCartoon with a green "atomic" dog
I'm trying to remember the name of a feature-length cartoon (at least, I THINK it was feature-length) which had a green(?) mutant dog with the symbol of an atom on (or around?) its head and a character who could turn his/her arm into a hammer. I saw it in the 90's and can't really remember anything else, but chances are that all the main characters were a family (like, a man, his wife, their son/daughter and a dog) and they became superheroes only in the second part of the cartoon due to some typical "radioactive green slime accident".
openLate 2000s/Early 2010s show live action show about "body snatcher" immortality Live Action TV
I remembered this series earlier today, I thought the series was called "Sheppards" or "Shepherds" and the tag-line was "what goes around comes around", but I can't find it anywhere, I think it aired on Space channel and had multiple seasons.
The series took place in our world with the supernatural element being that people could achieve a type of immortality by focusing on an object as they died, being placed in a new body and then the object being used to bring their consciousness back in the new body (I thought the people that were hired to make this happen were called shepherds and that's where the title came from).
I know she wasn't the main most character, but one of the major characters was a little girl who was sharing her body with the spirit of a man who had gone through the process multiple times with her parents becoming concerned by some of the resulting behaviour. In one of the final episodes she convinces a classmate to skip school with her, but the classmate gets scared off after a while and the girl ends up comatose with the two consciousnesses meeting on a beach in the girl's mind; the man thinks he's won control of the body and the girl's personality will die, but the girl tells him she's won because of her strong desire to stay with her parents and wakes up in the hospital as the only person in her body and seems to have a fairly normal life afterwards.
I know there was also a scene with a couple where the man was dying of an injury and his wife/girlfriend hurried to get an object that could be used to bring him back
I tried checking trope pages and thought the series might be "Dollhouse", but looking at it I'm pretty sure it wasn't
Edited by Poppun-chanopenSome kind of zombie board game.
I remember owning this game when i was a kid in the late 90's. i got it from my local toy store and i think i actually bought it more than once so i'm sure it wasn't uncommon. I don't remember much about it except the board was some kind of graveyard or path through a graveyard (it isn't the goosebumps graveyard game) and there were these zombies that would pop up at different points on the board. does anyone remember what this was or what it was called? it's pretty much the only board game i remember from my childhood that i've never been able to track down.
Edited by ThebanjohypeopenUK TV Programme
I remember this specific episode was about a cat (who was thought to be an old relative that came back to life in cat form) who was accidentally shot. The cat was then put in a bag with a tracker inside (unknowingly) and dumped in a bin. if i remember correctly the grandad of the family had a device that beeped when he was near the bag and consequently found the bag with the cat inside. it was a comedy and I cannot remember what the show was called or what channel it was on.
openMarvel Comics Print Comic
A scene in a comic from the late 70s to mid-80s. May or may not be Secret Wars. A few heroes are talking, and a difficult choice is being debated. Professor X says, "If we did that, we'd be no better than Hitler, Stalin, or Doctor Doom." I remembered that while reading the Famous, Famous, Fictional trope and I'd like to include it there, but my recollection is vague.
openarmoured money truck robbery
im looking for a tv show/episode i watched all i remember is a a armored money truck is robbed with these bullets that go right threw the bullet proof glass and kill the driver
Edited by theflyingsockie
This is immensely annoying, because I managed to track down this and the other piece I'm asking about three or four years ago, but I've lost the file in which I wrote down their details, so I need to find them again
This one is a live-action US TV series, made in the late 1970s or very early 1980s and possibly in black and white. It was called something similar to People of the Wind, but that's not quite right. It was a drama about life in a Native American Plains village riound about the time the white man first arrived.
In the episode I remember best, they meet their first white man, a lost French trapper with a heavy beard. They have never seen someone with so much facial hair before. You get a lovely romantic shot of tipis glowing like lanterns in the night, then a close-up of one in which there are about ten people all snoring in different keys. Then the youngest boy gets up and sneaks round the edge of the tent to the Frenchman and feels his beard to see if it's real, and after him the rest of his family all do the same, one by one in ascending order of age. There was also an episode which had to do with a boy raised by wolves. I believe there were six or eight episodes made, four of which were shown on British tv in the early '80s.
