Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
Ask the Tropers is for:

Do we have some sort of page that offers tips on proper grammar, spelling and syntax in trope entries? I seem to find grammar mistakes in every third entry: "it's" for "its" all the time, comma splices, no semicolon before a "however", etc. Then there are just other little things like using "due to the fact that" instead of the much simpler "because".

I keep seeing new edits to the Trope Repair Shop discussion for Double Standard, but when I click them, get an "error" message telling me no such discussion exists.
I hope this isn't some weird form of forum ban.
Edit- After seeing it again just now, I get the impression that whenever that shows up, it means that Fast Eddie (and I guess whoever else is allowed to edit it) is making changes to the article. Carry on.

I'm still getting used to the TV Tropes set up-and with the massive number of different pages, am kind of lost. Even in the forums. I remember at some point reading that one could make "blogs" of what they were reading, comment on the chapters and such. I thought it was a cool idea, but I didn't have a new book to read at the moment-and now that I do, I completely forget where to go on the site to do it. Or where to go to find the answer to the first question.

Hello~ There's been a bit of an edit war between myself and another troper on the Tangled IJBM page, and I was wondering if it would be possible for a mod to take a look at it.
One of the things that the other troper has been doing include deleting huge swaths of text aren't directly to the point, editing and reediting the page so that the edit history is all them editing between "inserttexthere" and "insert text here" and has ignored every attempt to ask them to bring it to the discussion page before deleting things. I've ended up just saving a word document of the page, and putting it back the way it was several times, but I'm willing to stop if that is what needs to be down.
Thank you for your time, Loracarol

I just downloaded Mozilla Firefox today, and despite supposedly importing everything from my previous browser, my account here didn't seem to carry over. As a result, I'm having to type this up on Internet Explorer. What happened, and what do I do?
And on a mildly related note (this is how I learned about it), why is there a content warning for the Trope Repair Shop?

A little problem here: I've made a new "trope" Gun Counterpart which has a list of tropes. But like Distaff Counterpart, it's not intended to be an index, and I didn't put the [[index]] and [[/index]] in the edit page.
But then when I go to see some of the trope listed there, the Gun Counterpart index banner is shown in the below of the page. Which means that Gun Counterpart is an index. How could that be?

I just noticed something rather odd about the redirect of Antigone for the page Antigone. It doesn't actually show up as a redirect on the page itself and I when I try to edit it I get directed to a page headed with "Antigone: Antigone", yet wicks do redirect from it. I'm curious whether it can be fixed on the basis that the pages that link to that redirect won't appear in the "related to" feature as it is.

Hey, a user named Tear Drop deleted the notes to not include Fridge Logic, Fridge Brilliance, or Ho Yay on the main page for the Prince Of Persia movie. He didn\'t add any examples, but why did he delete those?

Little question, is there a specific rule against adding a pothole instead of a work title? And if so, what page is it on?
For example.
- John did such and such.
- 'Hello, Alice? It's Bob. I'm doing something'
I hope that made sense. Incidentally, no, I haven't added any like that myself.

How do I make the Awesome crowner show up on the page? I thought of this addition tonight (yay lack of sleeeep) and I need to fix it to where it shows.
