Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
Ask the Tropers is for:
- • General questions about the wiki, how it works, and how to do things.
- • Reports of problems with wiki articles, or requests for help with wiki articles.
- • Reports of misbehavior or abuse by other tropers.
Ask the Tropers is not for:
- • Help identifying a trope. See TropeFinder.
- • Help identifying a work. See MediaFinder.
- • Asking if a trope example is valid. See the Trope Talk forum.
- • Proposing new tropes. See TropeLaunchPad.
- • Making bug reports. See QueryBugs.
- • Asking for new wiki features. See QueryWishlist.

Ask the Tropers:
openWhat happened to TLP tags?
Why did we get rid of the tags on TLP? I would ask on the Wishlist to bring them back, but that wouldn't be a good idea if we already have a good reason to not have them.
openDestroyermen Fans? Literature
Is there an active group of fans of Taylor Anderson's series Destroyermen? I am part of the author's fan community, and we have a few wikis and forums up, but I was hoping that there are some here who are interested. Maybe even be that we could make the wiki and trope pages super excellent.

So there's this German movie from 1959. Wikipedia calls it Die Brücke. The IMDB calls it The Bridge. The Criterion Collection calls it The Bridge.
Which title do I pick for the work page?
open How is this hilarious?
Found this on YMMV.Pocahontas, under Hilarious in Hindsight.
- Mel Gibson voices someone who reconciles two warring races and falls in love with a woman of another ethnicity, and Christian Bale plays a meek, gentle and not-exactly-prone-to-violence-or-anger sailor. Fast-forward ten-fifteen years and Mel Gibson is yelling racial slurs at a certain race in general and his girlfriend in particular, and Christian Bale has become infamous for an on-set rant at the director of photography (and, less famously, had to get bailed out of jail after allegedly assaulting his mother and sister).
This sounds like it should be Harsher in Hindsight.

The Abusive Parents trope: should it be placed in the child's section or the parent's section, or both?

openWeird Example on YMMV/PuellaMagiMadokaMagica Anime
This was under the Moe entry.
- Many fans claim that Puella Magi Madoka Magica is a feminist series, when in fact, Gen Urobochi had conceptualized the series through comparisons of girls' "hubris" and "self-righteousness" to Al-Qaeda, not to mention that the intended demographic was for an older, male audience.
I'm not sure what the point of the entry was (well besides the last part). But the point about its relationship to feminism is already mentioned elsewhere on the page (word for word in fact) and for some reason i see this entry as out of place. Should it stay?

https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/el.php?findfor=livemike has execrable grammar in all their edits. Already issued an edit suspension.
open comic, art style similar to that of cartoon network shows Anime
there was this one specific point, where the character walks in and says "it was all like" then she spits lava all over while saying "aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh" she was a taller green skinned character with yellow horns I thing, she wears a black robe.

open Hello again.
As I cannot find the pantheon thread, this is my only avenue for my proposal. That proposal is the ascension of various Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC V characters. Come on guys, we ascended Sora Shiun'in, why not ascend the rest?
openSo bad it's horrible entry
Posting this here for more visibility.
There was a recent entry on the SoBadItsHorrible.Literature page about Orson Scott Card's Hamlet's Father, which while morally questionable probably isn't terrible enough in terms of quality to be included there.
I mentioned why I think it doesn't belong on the discussion page. The troper who added it then removed it themself (but without leaving an edit reason). It was then readded by another troper. Should it stay or should it go?
Edited by supergodopen 90's PBS/TLC puppet show
I'm trying to find this show from my childhood and the only thing I can remember is that there was this koala/bear/hedgehog that was a puppet of sorts (think Kitty Cats/Pacha et les chats) and I believe it was used to teach kids to listen to their parents. The two separate scenes I remember is where this koala/bear/hedgehog is walking down this dark wooded area and everything is creeping him out. He sees things and imagines them to be monsters but in reality it's an owl. Another is where the parent told him to bring his toys in when he's finished playing with them outside and he doesn't listen and forgets a toy/stuffed animal on the swing and it begins to rain and the branch banging against the window wakes him up and he looks outside and realized he left the toy/bear on the swing in the rain and he cries (I think he cries).
openHi there.
So this is kind of a newbie question, but how can I post on threads?

PKMN37 has added Dumbass Has a Point to this page for the third time, despite the fact that two different editors have deleted it before.
openReal Life Troping Question
The real life section of Guns Akimbo mentions the Virginia Tec shooter as an example (he used two handguns on his spree)
I was wondering if I should delete that entry for being in extremely poor taste or not since it's a fairly horrific and recent tragedy (happened in 2007).

How come there isn't a page for TV Tropes where it enlists tropes that apply to this website? Whenever I type https://tvtropes.org/Website/TVTropes it just leads me to a message displaying "We do not have Website / TV Tropes. We do, however, have:" instead of a page with tropes that apply to the website. Does it have to do with Irony or something?
