openEdit War on YMMV.KiraKiraPrecureALaMode Anime
On the 10th of October Tropers/Dr_Wrecker made an edit on YMMV.Kira Kira Precure A La Mode changing Base-Breaking Character to [[BaseBreakingCharacter Base-Breaking Characters]]: here
I changed it back with the edit reason "The displayed trope name should not be altered". After that I forgot about it.
Earlier today the same troper made the exact same change to the exact same page here.
Again I undid it, this time with the edit reason "As stated on How to Write an Example: Do Not Alter or Pothole the Trope Name". At first I did not think anything of it, but something kept nagging at me and after searching through the page history – that particular troper has made A LOT of edits to that page – I discovered that this is an edit war.
I have sent no notifiers for the edit war, though I have sent Dr_Wrecker a notifier for an earlier edit on the same page (adding a commented out example of Base-Breaking Character that later got expanded on).
openCreate a Manga Article called Colorless Anime
Hello. I would like to create an Article on this wiki related to this manga called 'Colorless'. How would I do that?
openPermission to revert entry on Manga/AirGear. Anime
On Nov. 4th, 2018, I corrected the Official Couple entry for Air Gear due to being inaccurate to the epilogue chapter.
- Original Version:
- Corrected Version:
- Erivale's version:
- Erivale: I just read through the whole series again, and it's pretty clear that Ikki's date with Simca is two riders who respect each other meeting up for a run and the fulfilment of an old promise, as compared to the overt romantic overtones involved in Ikki's resolution with Ringo. Even during the epilogue itself, Ringo is treated as the woman in Ikki's life, not just a prospective for his affections.
With this in mind, I request permission to revert the edit without risk of inciting an Edit War.
openPotential shipping agenda on edit Anime
Editor Luisdalas made an edit to an existing entry of Broken Base for YMMV.The Last Naruto The Movie, in their edit they claim that the most of the fandom believed that the romance of the movie was "an absurd retcon" which is not true as it is one of the most positively rated films of the franchise, and removed the part that explained that the rival pairing's scenes of the series could also be interpreted non-romantically.
I've sent them a PM about the changes but this IMHO looks like a clear case of a shipping agenda. Can it be reverted?
Edited by matruzopenMajority and TheyChangedItSoItSucks? Anime
A while ago, a They Changed It, So It Sucks entry was added to the The Dangers in My Heart about some fans taking issue with the anime downplaying the comedic elements of the manga In favor emphasizing the romantic scenes. Then It was deleted it on the grounds of still being well received by the majority of fans.
That explanation confused me considering it’s YMMV and I initially thought it was about the anime's reception in general. But having thought about it further up to now, if it was specifically about moments tied to romantic/dramatic scenes then I'd get it.
I was focused on the comedic bits in general and how the anime can be less expressive than in the manga. Still though, I was wondering if something like that would count as an example and whether majority rule stands as criteria for the trope just for future reference.
I sent a PM to the user to talk about it and avoid any issues. But they only gave a short response to my first message (which admittedly had some extra text that I didn’t see until later) and not the second.
Edited by PurpleEmperoropenShimeji Simulation as Iyashikei? Anime
A user keeps messaging me about my removal of Shimeji Simulation from the iyashikei page back in April.
The purpose of iyashikei is to generate a soothing feeling through low-stakes, low-conflict, stress-free storytelling.
Shim Sim is about a dull-eyed, depressed, neurotic teenage girl wandering in a daze through her school life under a bright sun, with extremely janky artwork, stark eerily-empty backgrounds with creepy black obelisks, and surrealist visuals and spaced-out characters meant to unsettle the reader and make them feel like something is wrong well in advance of when the Eldritch Abomination shit starts happening. It fails to be a "healing" manga on every conceivable level aside from "It's got chibi girls in it."
I'd like to definitively settle this issue.
openRocket Girls Cleanup/Refurbishment Thread Request Anime
The wiki's page for Anime.Rocket Girls has been in an odd state ever since its launch: Tropes are split into three categorization folders that were created shortly after page launch (a format no other page on this wiki follows as far as I've seen); there are a lot of zero or low-context examples, commented out and otherwise, and I feel some of the tropes cited may not line up with their wiki definitions. I've been compiling/rewriting trope examples from this series on an off-site Google Doc with the intention of bringing them over to the wiki for a while now, but I want to do so with approval from the mods for a planned drastic overhaul, and some feedback on revisions of certain tropes I'm not very certain about. Would it be appropriate to start a forum thread under Short-Term Projects focused on overhauling this page?
openNeed help with character images Anime
I recently added the official anime portraits to Characters.Ayakashi Triangle, but for some reason, the collapsible image of Shirogane's true form is now open and aligned to the left even though I don't believe I messed with the source.
Edited by KOmanopenEdit War report Anime
In Characters.Chainsaw Man Devil Hunters:
- thatother1dude made two separate edits, one where they used "sick" when "sic" would've been more appropriate in the sentence "...the US government did sick the Gun Devil on Japan..." and placing UnwantedFalseFaith above TeenageWasteland, when U goes after T in alphabetical order.
- I fixed the spelling of "sic" and reordered the aforementioned tropes based off of alphabetical order in this edit.
- thatother1dude then reverted my changes back to their original, incorrect forms in this edit.
openRecommending same fanfic on different pages Anime
Have a question regarding recommending fanfics. If a fanfic that you want to recommend is a crossover, can you recommend the same fanfic in each page of its respective source?
Edited by ArtisticAntresolved Edit war over Berserk 2016 Anime
While Berserk (2016) is pretty infamous for a variety of reasons, one troper (mrdarkcatify) have been removing mentions of it on various creator pages (like Chris Hackney and Erica Mendez) with this edit reason:
Note that said entries have been restored.
However, the real trouble begins in Erica Lindbeck’s page:
openDestiny Lovers Anime
One I'm wondering how to create a page for the series Destiny Lovers and two is the series to lewd an example to be here.
Corvus IX changed the Iris entry on the pokemon subpage of Unitentionally Unsympathetic without any edit reasons. I put a reason as to why I first changed the entry, while that troper changed it around without any edit reasons.
I changed the first entry because the entry not only came off as complaining, but it bitterly insinuated that Iris was a bad friend and a bully (by that logic, Misty and Max are bad friends and bullies too since they would act the same way towards Ash as well). I wanted to revert it again, but I don't want to cause an Edit War. So I came here.
While fans have a right to think that Iris is unintentionally unsympathetic, they make false claims that Iris thought that she was "better" than Ash (when really she had no knowledge of Ash's accomplishments prior to Best wishes. If anything, how Iris criticized Ash is the real problem regarding her character).
