Agreed, it seems people are ignoring our "Important Notice".

What can I say? Much as it fills me with disgust to say it, people have very short attention spans; if it's not staring them right in the face, they won't notice it. I'll go take care of this problem, now.

I put something next to Dibs just to ensure that people didn't do that because I knew they probably wouldn't pay attention to the notice. Which apparently was worth about as much as ninja world treaties.

No insult, we just don't want random people making random articles in case someone wanted to make the article and/or they didn't index properly or something and when someone properly goes through the protocol for making an article they find that there's already and article there, amongst many other complications.

Regarding Dream World abilities, I'd be thinking it may vary from Pokemon to Pokemon how common they are. Some would be as rare as shinies, but they may be more common in others. The Durant article uses the Dream World ability to explain queens in the colony - if they were rarer than shinies, that would be bad for them, no?

If a colony has over 8000ish members, they're fine. But yeah, I see what you mean.

Also note that Mystery Dungeon allows mons to express all their abilities. They haven't addressed the Hidden ones obviously, though.

Mechanically in the game at least, Hidden Abilities are partially heritable on the mother's side (it's probably about 50%, not breeding with a Ditto), while shininess is not, at least currently.

Have a few of the hold items been discussed yet? For example....

How do Leftovers and Shell Bells work? What in the world was in the garbage can a mostly eaten apple came out of that helps its holder regenerate?

You could argue Shoal Salt has regenerative attributes in and of itself, but how does that translate over after its been used to build an instrument that only works when you're beating something up?

Part of it (specifically, the "regenerates at a certain rate" or "only functions when trying to faint something") can be reattributed to use rather than to properties of the item itself, working around the gameplay interface (one could argue, for example, that while fighting your body is stressed enough that it will extract the most possible from any food available; provided you have the time to eat something). The current discussion on Tropius (because of fruit and Harvest), and some other Pokémon, have to take into consideration also how much of what we see is what happens and how much is the interface (when compared to manga an anime, for example).

I'd imagine that the shoal bell isn't physically healing them so much as giving firing them up and allowing them to ignore some of their wounds. Or something like that.

Dunno about leftovers though. Maybe its actually an everlasting gobstopper?

I think the half-eaten apple is just a placeholder, the real Leftovers is a tupperware container that the trainer periodically refills with scraps after every meal. The Pokemon holding it periodically eats little bits of it for a quick energy boost.

The Shell Bell's effect might be psychosomatic, it lets out a tone that encourages the release of endorphins in a Pokemon. The harder the Pokemon fights, the more the bell rings, and more endorphins are released.

What with Leftovers being containers, Tropius growing whole Berry bushes for Harvest, Cubone being armed with Thick Clubs, and the use of Balloons to evade ground attacks, it seems that Pokémon matches are in practice rather casual about permitting equipment advantages.

All righty sorry about that. College wrapped up and exams are on and stuff. I'm really going to start wotking on the enteries i had called dibs on sometime soon.
