Day 28 - Music that makes you feel nostalgic:

For some of these prompts, absolutely no thinking was required. This is one of those prompts. A nostalgic song? It 100% had to be from my first Pokémon game, and it 100% had to be the National Park theme. Just listening to this brings up so many fond childhood memories. Top comment on this particular upload sums it up nicely.

came here for pokemon music...found a bunch of sad adults. honestly same tho lol

Day 28:

Someone used licensed music from a Need For Speed game for day 20, so I think that gives me the right to do something similar for day 28. That said, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is still my favourite GTA to this very day, regardless of the absolute mess the "Definitive Edition" made of it, and every time I hear Welcome to the Jungle I'm instantly transported back to my days of playing the absolute shit out of it on the good ol' Play Station 2.

Day 28:

Convenient timing considering the release of Sonic Origins. I dare any of you to read the comments under the videos and not feel nostalgic with everyone.

Day 28:

I know it has flaws and is "the worst" game in the series, but I miss the days of always visiting the Dojo to see what gets revealed.

Help me. I can't get it out of my head.

Day 29:

To be honest I'd... kinda forgotten about this series. Not sure how since after I finish Danganronpa and Spyro I intend to dive right in...

Day 29: Yeah, I am just not good at picking favorites (especially with boss fights).

I mean, this one's quite frantic for a 16 bit theme (and terrifying).
It's Sonic. What do you expect? This one in particular sounds so confident in itself, but is also serious about it rather than just "doing it for fun".
This one has such a celestial vibe to it and boss itself was as "cosmic" as it was hard.
It sounds so high tech and spacey, but also carries this What the Hell, Hero? vibe with it.
It's so glorious in its execution with every teammate entering the fight 1-by-1 via a Limit Break, which makes you want to cap the fight off in style with a Limit Break of your own.
There are not enough words in the human language to describe the bombastic masterpiece that is the track, and just like the one mentioned above, you'll get the urge to want to finish this fight with a montage of Limit Breaks.

  29. Final Boss (ARMS - VS. Hedlok)

This has been a lot of fun, so props to OP for making this thread. Throughout doing this, there was one franchise that I was desperately avoiding, because if I wanted to complete this on Hard Mode, I needed to save it for the final prompt. I was a bit worried that someone else would bring out a song from this series and force me to scramble for something new, but that thankfully didn't happen. So, without further ado...

30. End Credits

I wanted to use a track from the Splatoon series for about a good third of these prompts. Splatoon currently has three songs I could have worked with for "End Credits", but there was only one real choice as far as I'm concerned. It's weird to feel nostalgic for something you just finished playing, but "Into the Light" managed to do just that for me when I first completed the second game's Octo Expansion DLC campaign. While watching the credits alongside characters I spent the past 15 hours with, I was nearly tearing up as though I was becoming reacquainted with old friends I haven't seen in years. Octo Expansion remains one of my favourite gaming experiences on the Switch, and I can't wait to see what Splatoon 3 brings us. Especially in regards to the music.

I SWEAR I had a draft saved but somehow it just vanished... goddamn data vampires... is this because I edited one of my posts? Anyway!

    Let's recap, shall we?

All in all, I'd say this challenge was a triumph. As such, I'm making a note here: huge success. It's hard to overstate my satisfaction with my choices as we end things off with perhaps the most iconic ending credits song in video game history on day 30:

Had to edit this post a few more times due to some formatting flubs and a minor inconsistency that I initially didn't catch. But there's no sense crying over every mistake, you just keep on trying 'til you run out of cake...

Day 30:

Well, this has been fun (and difficult). As you may have guessed, I just couldn't pick just 1 for a lot of these, as there are just too many good tracks to listen to and I don't think any of them should be overlooked. That goes for playing the games as well. Who knows? Maybe after listening to one or two tracks from someone else's list has peaked your curiosity into playing the game(s) where the music came from. That's what happened to me with a lot of these games, and the same could most likely happen to someone elseif they were to listen to someone else's favorites from these lists.
