So this is a place for people who are interested in helping out, or getting help with, wick checks. Maybe you just want people to double-check your work before you submit it to the TRS, or maybe you have a big project in mind and can't tackle it on your own. Either way, you've come to the right place!
Remember to check out How to Do a Wick Check for a run down, and feel free to browse Tropes Needing TRS if you need ideas for what trope to do a wick-check for.
For the list of current and completed projects, see Wick Check Project. Once your wick check is done and ready to go to a TRS thread, see the TRS Queue.

Okay, I finished sorting and have queue'd up My Friends... and Zoidberg. Yikes, that's a lot of misuse. However, I wonder if some items in the "fits another trope" category would fit elsewhere; judging by how long it will be before we reach this trope in TRS, I should have plenty of time to finalize things.
Edit: On second thought, this could factor in something that could be yarded.

she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportI'm a little over halfway through checking Don't Make Me Destroy You and would appreciate some feedback.
CSP Cleanup Thread | All that I ask for ... is diamonds and dance floorsI like how the misuse is further divided. I've always wondered if the power imbalance part was really necessary.
With how it's turning out so far, I was thinking a good course of action would be to drop that part. Because I think it's still tropeworthy in the sense that this is one known way to drum up drama preceding a fight (such as an "I Know You're in There Somewhere" Fight) or to otherwise show the tension between characters.
I just wanted to make sure everything so far was sorted correctly, since there's a few weird examples.
CSP Cleanup Thread | All that I ask for ... is diamonds and dance floorsJust finished my Hair Intakes Wick Check. How does it look?
My troper wallDrag Queen Wick Check is done. Is it fine?
Art Museum Curator and frequent helper of the Web Original deprecation projectHey, I'm just dropping in to mention that I've put three of my wick checks on hold and putting them up for adoption, cuz I'm bowing out of TRS for the time being until I recover from a headache I've been dealing with for the past week. If somebody else would like to finish them, that would be much appreciated.
I'm lovin' it. (My Troper Wall)Is it fine to reset a Wick Check?
Art Museum Curator and frequent helper of the Web Original deprecation projectYes. You can start over, work with someone, work on your own. These things don't belong to anyone.
Alright then. Cause Awesome Music Wick Check definitely needs a reset. Imma work on it but keep the categories.
Art Museum Curator and frequent helper of the Web Original deprecation projectFor Aborted Declaration Of Love Wick Check I have one folder with 5 examples where the person aborts the declaration due to permanent separation (which is the entire point of the cleanup to prove the essential component is only the case for a small minority) and four zero context example. I am not sure how to sort the rest of the examples.

I've put The Red Mage on Wick Check Project for tropes needing wicks as in the Trope Repair Shop discussion for White Magician Girl and Black Magician Girl, it started becoming apparent that while the trope is about mages proficient in multiple Disciplines of Magic, some examples seem to focus more on mages proficient at both Black and White Magic even if all their spells are from the same discipline or if there are no disciplines of magic.
Some people say I'm lazy. It's hard to disagree.I've begun a Minor Insult Meltdown wick check at Minor Insult Wick Check. I'm doing (basically) every wick since there's so few, so any help would be appreciated.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI'm thinking about wick checking Fandom Rivalry for one-sided examples, because I'm seeing so many used as stealth complaining and I'd really like to set some sort of official limit there.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Does "Character breaks down over anything" mean "Character breaks down over all kinds of things" or "Character breaks down over something that isn't an insult"?
Edited by Tabs on Oct 18th 2023 at 12:39:53 PM
Both? It's sort of just a catch-all folder for examples where characters get really upset at stuff that doesn't fit the definition of "minor insult". I can split it later if need-be, but since I've only gone through Main/ so far it hasn't seemed necessary.

Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure Pureness𝕋𝕒𝕓𝕤 thanks for all the wicks! Lot of help :) (And good catch with the duplicated Tear Jerker wick, that was a mistake from me briefly changing my mind about which folder it belonged in)
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessRecently, I came to the conclusion that "The Host" and "Game Show Host" both need work. The former is from 2008 and has 203 wicks, but the page itself is mostly just a list of 26 "popular hosts", with "Related" showing a mix of listings for real-life reality show hosts and actual characters who are hosts to in-universe shows or events.
The former trope has potential, but based on what I'm finding, it needs severe revision, likely revising it into a "Master Of Ceremonies" trope for in-universe event or show hosts while yarding the "real-life reality show / event hosts" into its own trope, and moving actual game-show host wicks to the proper page.
The thing is, I need help with this one. My last attempt at a Wick Check failed miserably to the point where I had to give up and ask someone else to help with it. So this time, I'm asking for help from the start.
The existing draft is here.
Until next time...

If you're responding directly to one of my posts, please ping me to make sure I see it.I'm putting my wick checks for Cleavage Window, Super Title 64 Advance, and She Is All Grown Up up for adoption, hence why they're listed as on hold in the TRS Queue. I'm not touching them again, I've completely lost interest in continuing with them.
I'm lovin' it. (My Troper Wall)If you've abandoned everything completely you should probably just have them listed under this project's sandbox, not the TRS queue.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessThis project has its own sandbox? Can you link it here plz?
Nvm, found it

I'm lovin' it. (My Troper Wall)Going to start up a wick check for Green Aesop, I want to check if the trope is being confused with Green Thumb and other environmental tropes when it's supposed to be about a story having environmental morals.
And done. The wick check is here. I'm holding off on entering the TRS Queue for now, as one about its larger scope An Aesop is listed there with a separate wick check. Once that passes, I can move towards looking at Green Aesop further.

Life is just a dream.I'm finding some rather oddities at the relatively underused Tareme Eyes and Tsurime Eyes tropes. I wonder, can I just have their wick check pages at the same page, but I would still have to do minimum 50 checks for each trope? The only reason I request them on the same page is mainly because both are related "opposite" tropes that have similar check on how the eyes of the characters match the personality expectation (Tareme Eyes: soft, gentle and nice nature, Tsurime Eyes: arrogant, prideful and more agressive nature).
Will create up a page in moments. EDIT: Done, the page can be found here: Sandbox.Tareme Eyes And Tsurime Eyes Wick Check - is in early stages / template

...As long as a clear separation between the two tropes in the wick check (as in each has its own section) and you do fifty for each, I don't see a problem
My troper wall
Doing a wick check for Drag Queen over here.
I currently got 1/50 down. Feel free to help out.
