    (I) Character is a drag queen/king (19/50, 38%)
  1. Recap.Criminal Case World Edition Case 50 Up In Smoke: Slave to PR: As you learn throughout the case, Sandy had become so deeply invested with keeping his followers happy that he was turning away from people who helped him in the past but now were giving him a "questionable" image, such as Chockas D.Lux (who was supposed to give a show during Sandy's rally but got cancelled at last minute) and Hunter McFarlane (who had donated thousands of dollars to the USStay movement while Sandy refused to promote his cannabis business). Pothole explains why Chockas was going to give a show
  2. Characters. The Sandman 2022: [under Hal Carter's folder] Drag Queen: He sings and does drag at a local bar.
  3. YMMV.Ouran High School Host Club:
    • ...even though the character in question seems to be a crossdresser or Drag Queen rather than transgender...
    • And then there's everything having to do with Ranka, Haruhi's Drag Queen bisexual father.
  4. Creator.Travis Willingham: [under the Playing Against Type entry] Charlotte from Bleach is a very muscular and flamboyant Drag Queen which is a far cry from the other large, hammy characters he's played.
  5. Film.Midnight In The Garden Of Good And Evil: Drag Queen: Lady Chablis, playing herself. Although the real Lady found that term hurtful (as a drag queen is generally considered to be a male dressed as a female, and Chablis always considered herself a female).
  6. Characters.Doom Patrol 2019 Other Characters: [under Danny the Street's folder] Drag Queen: Danny influences one named Morris to becoming Maura Lee Karupt. There are also plenty of other Dannyzens who are drag queens
  7. Characters.Heavens Design Team: [under Kanamori/Venus' folder] Ambiguous Gender Identity: Almost everything about both her appearance and Agent Peacock persona heavily hints towards her being a trans woman, but nothing in the story ever provides any sort of proper confirmation that this is the actual case (not even offhand comments from Venus herself), nor have the creators ever confirmed what her gender identity is. As a result, there's still a possibility that she could instead be either a ridiculously masculine example of a Bifauxnen or a Drag Queen. Or in the case of this entry, character could be a drag queen.
  8. Series.Accused 2023: [Robyn's Story] Drag Queen: Robyn performs drag acts quite often, with many fellow drag queens shown too.
  9. Characters.Friends Main Characters: ...and a dad who became a Drag Queen and ran away with the pool boy...
  10. ShoutOut.Rurouni Kenshin: Hyoko Otowa's design model was a previously rejected "drag queen-ish" villain who wore a lot of lipstick. The six-pronged accessory was borrowed from Mr. Sinister, who also had black lips and metal spines dangling over him like a festive cape.
  11. Wacky Parent, Serious Child:
    • Haruhi Fujioka in Ouran High School Host Club is the most reliable and level-headed character in the show. Her father Ryouji, a.k.a. Ranka, is a flaming Drag Queen with emotional issues.
    • Friends: Chandler Bing's mother is an erotic novelist who openly discusses her sex life in front of him while his father left the family to become a Drag Queen. Their bitter divorce, and the insensitive way they handled it around him, are at the root of Chandler's Commitment Issues. It's implied that Chandler's white-collar job and more cynical personality are his way of distancing himself from his dramatic parents.
  12. NinjaPirateZombieRobot.Web Animation: Angel Dust from Hazbin Hotel is a Gay Drag Queen prostitute gun-running former-gangster spider-demon. As one YouTube commenter astutely pointed out, with that many arms, your gun mob is just you.
  13. Funny.Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger: Episode 23 has the Gokaigers helping people out and with Joe and Don a..."lady" drops her earring. When Joe goes to return the earring to "her", the person calls Joe a "hottie" and Don "cute" and drags them else where. Later on we see that Joe and Don don't look good in make-up...okay, maybe only Joe.
  14. Agent Peacock:
    • Hazbin Hotel has Angel Dust, who is a gay spider demon Drag Queen porn star turned prostitute/crime boss.
    • Feodor Basmanov, a ruthless chieftain and warrior of Ivan IV (the Terrible), was also a highly effeminate and beautiful man who had a sexual relationship with the Tsar. In more modern depictions he's portrayed as a Drag Queen who performs seductive dances.
  15. Literature.Too Bright To See: Drag Queen: Uncle Roderick was a drag queen who went by Anita Life.
  16. VideoGame.Leisure Suit Larry Wet Dreams Dont Dry: Drag Queen: Tuck, a flamboyant drag queen who Larry initially mistakes for a real woman and who keeps letting herself in jail to receive cavity search. She also officiates weddings and can marry Lance and Richard.
  17. VisualNovel. Will A Wonderful World: Drag Queen: "Mama", the owner of the Maple Leaf bar that Alicia briefly works at.
  18. Characters.X Men Mutants: Drag Queen: Darnell is a Drag Queen who’s persona is a tribute to superheroes.
  19. Characters.Twisted Metal: [Dennis Flanders]

(II) Overlaps with Crossdresser / Wholesome Crossdresser / Creepy Crossdresser (4/50, 8%)
  1. Characters.Sex Education Moordale Secondary School Students: [under Eric's folder] Drag Queen: Eric loves to crossdress. Hedwig and the Angry Itch is his favourite musical. Falls under Crossdresser. In fact, Eric has a Wholesome Crossdresser entry that covers his fashion sense already.
  2. Series.Sex Education: Drag Queen: Eric. Over the course of his arc, he becomes more open with his cross-dressing. Ditto with the above
  3. Characters.Empowered: [Under Maidman's folder ] Drag Queen: Downplayed. Despite his very feminine costume, Maidman makes absolutely no effort to look like anything other than the square-jawed, hairy, muscular man he is. The only people who could mistake him for a real French Maid would be people who are almost blind and deaf, or on the verge of death through alcohol poisoning. Entry covered in the folder by Wholesome Crossdresser
  4. Music. The Man Who Sold The World: The British release was delayed until April 1971 due to executives at Mercury Records, Bowie's then-current label, fretting about the singer posing in "a man's dress" on the cover photo.

    (III) ZCE and Unclear use/pothole (6/50, 12%)
  1. Film.Absolutely Fabulous: Lots and lots and... Lots and lots of what? ZCE. Would fall under the "Character is a drag queen" category if given enough context.
  2. Film. The Birdcage: Besides the stage name, these are ZCE
    • Albert a.k.a. "Starina", The Goldman Girls as well as many other employees and patrons of the club.
    • Plus the whole Keeley family at the end. (Yes, the wife, daughter, and Senator!)
  3. Characters. The Try Guys: Though on the wittier side of things more often than not. ZCE
  4. DarthWiki.Summers Cauldron : [under Marie's folder] Drag Queen ZCE
  5. The Cavalry: ...When Gin and company refuse and stand their ground against a huge gang of thugs from Jirocho and Saigo's crews...
  6. WebVideo.Mister Plinkett Reviews: The human eye can detect fakeness real easy. It's not too hard. Unclear pothole

    (IV) Reads/Used like a Useful Note (17/50, 34%)
  1. Wholesome Crossdresser: Often overlaps with Drag Queen (a campy, hyper-feminine form of expression with heavy ties to gay/bi male culture), but usually doesn't with being Transgender (an intricate subject that is more connected with inward identity than outward appearance). Used in a similar way to the Transgender Useful Note in the same sentence.
  2. Funny.Project Runway: Michael Kors saying that "Origami Rose" would be a great name for Ven if he were a Drag Queen.
  3. WesternAnimation.Bubble Guppies: Actor Allusion In one episode, a female character voiced by Ru Paul, a famous Drag Queen, says something along the lines of "it's a drag", with emphasis on the word "drag".
  4. Gay Aesop: Being a show about Drags, Super Drags naturally has most episodes center around problems that affect gay men and other queer people, like expulsion from home by one's parents, profiling, insecurities about one's appearance, abusive homophobic childhoods, conversion therapy, the reality that some LGBT people are willing to use homophobia to advance themselves and having your favourite singer replaced by a shitty tap dancing one.
  5. Atlanta: RuPaul's Drag Race often features drag queens from Atlanta and the surrounding area, owing to its ginormous LGBT+ community and legendary drag scene.
  6. Second Place Is for Losers: Normally averted on RuPaul's Drag Race, where simply appearing on the show is enough to grant a Drag Queen superstar status in the gay community and nightclub circuit. However...
  7. Bad "Bad Acting": In "Girls Will be Girls", which features a cast of Drag Queens, bad yet self-deluded actress Evie gives the most stilted performance possible in her One-Hit Wonder film. At one point, the script is simply placed open on a table on set, with Evie "subtly" cribbing looks at it, sounding out her lines.
  8. Untranslated Title: [Super Drags]...not to mention the whole thing is about drag queens.
  9. ComicBook. The Prince And The Dressmaker: [Clark Kenting]: No one seems to recognize Sebastian as Lady Crystallia even though all he wears are wigs, cosmetics, and whatever Pimped-Out Dress Frances whips up. This is possibly a Justified Trope, as Jen Wang came up with the initial idea for the story after watching RuPaul's Drag Race, and there are several drag queens who look unrecognizable compared to their real selves when they're wearing elaborate costumes, wigs, and makeup. Utilized like a Useful Note
  10. ShoutOut.Doom Patrol: Danny the Street is named after the famous Irish Drag Queen Danny La Rue ("la rue" being French for "the street").
  11. Cross-Cast Role: The character of Peter Pan is traditionally played by an actress, to the point that the character is sometimes jokingly referred to as Broadway's most famous drag king. The reasoning behind...
  12. Fan Disservice: Some Drag Queens are often subject to this trope.
  13. HaveAGayOldTime.Literature: Murder in Mesopotamia has Poirot speculate that a woman might be a "female impersonator", a term he uses several times. In context it's meant to refer to a woman with a false identity and not a Drag Queen.
  14. Heartwarming.Steven Universe: Non-binary drag queen Jinkx Monsoon getting their wish of voicing a character in this show by playing as Emerald in "Lars of the Stars". Useful note usage
  15. Incoming Ham: In the first episode of each season of RuPaul's Drag Race, the contestants make their entrance into the Werk Room one by one, thus giving each one a prime opportunity to make a good first impression with their personality and drag style.
  16. Live-Action TV: ...a large number of the contestants in non-anglophone countries have English drag names, like Yvonne Nightstand from Drag Race Germany or Bunny Be Fly from Thailand.
  17. Website.Fark: "Not a Drag Queen."Explanation

    (V) Combination of the above (3/50, 6%)
  1. Characters.Bleach Arrancars: [All under Charlotte's folder]
    • His mannerisms and dress style border on those of a stereotypical Drag Queen. Useful Note-like
    • Drag Queen: As a Magical Girl parody, his Resurreccíon has him as a cross-dresser despite being a burly and muscular bodybuilder. Character is a drag queen
    • Large Ham: A very flamboyant character with camp mannerisms reminiscent of a Drag Queen, Chuhlhourne loves destroying the scenery to bits when the focus is on him. Even as he is resurrected by Mayuri Kurotsuchi to fight Giselle Gewelle and her zombies, he's still far more lively than the other three Arrancar. Useful Note-like
    • The Nose Knows: Chuhlhourne takes a big sniff of the air then tells Giselle his instincts compel him to fight her because she resembles him (a Drag Queen) a lot, meaning he's reached the same conclusion as Yumichika and in the same way. Though Giselle denies that as she's a transgender woman and not a drag queen. Character is a drag queen
  2. The Fabulous Show with Fay & Fluffy:
    • The show stars the Drag Queen duo Fay Slift (J.P. Kane) and Fluffy Soufflé (Kaleb Robertson) Useful note usage
    • Drag Queen: Fay and Fluffy, of course. Character is a drag queen
  3. Sandbox.Transgender Example Sorting
    • Bernadette in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert is a trans woman (rather than a Drag Queen like her two companions). One guaranteed way to make her angry is to call her "Ralph"... Useful note usage
    • When a gay man has waaay too much fashion sense for one gender, he is a Drag Queen. And when a tired little Latin boy puts on a dress, he is simply a boy in a dress. Useful note usage
    • Barkeep Lala Escargot from Persona 5 may initially come off as just a Drag Queen, but she's implied to genuinely identify as a woman. Character is/seems like a drag queen

    Unsortable (1/50, 2%)
  1. Homophobia Index: Drag Queen: Often, cis people will rather respect a drag queen's gender than the gender of an actual trans woman, when really most drag queens just play a character for comedy and only a few are actually trans. This also causes trans women to be seen as a joke instead of a real person. It should be noted that terminology and understanding of gender has changed over time; in the 70s and 80s, many trans women instead identified as 'drag queens' due to not having another word for themselves. (A famous example would be Marsha P. Johnson, the woman who threw the first brick in the Stonewall riot.) Wick from an index
