Highly doubt it's Yuri Lowenthal either since he normally uses his Teen Ben voice (like in the Spider-Man Unlimited (no relations) mobile game or the upcoming Spider-Man PS 4 game). Some on Toonzone speculate that either Robbie Daymond (from the Malaysian only English Dub of Marvel Disk Wars: The Avengers seen below) or Bryce Papenbrook.
I could get behind Bryce Papenbrook.
I think Patton Oswalt was also confirmed as Uncle Ben on this thread.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).I'd actually completely forgotten about Patton.
Looks like some action figures from the show has leaked.
They correspond with all the characters who have more or less been confirmed/rumored to be in.
3 dudes and two girls makes me think of Power Rangers :p
35 year old white man.Oh gross, they're using the newer 2099 outfit.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).I rather like the new 2099 suit.
http://ew.com/tv/2017/06/28/spider-man-origin-animated-short-exclusive/?utm_campaign=entertainmentweekly Show will have six-part origin short on You Tube. Part one shows off Oscorp, Harry, both Smythes, and Liz Allen. Am I crazy or does the art style make me think of Voltron: Legendary Defender?
35 year old white man.Okay, the backgrounds look MUCH better here, at least I feel so.
It feels weird to see Harry with black hair. I mean, it's not bad, but... just not how I am used to see him in animated form; Alistair Smytches looks more like Harry than Harry does. It'll take me some time to get used to it, I guess. On the other hand, I do like Peter's design.
A lot of exposition, but this time no annoying cutaway gag, so much more bearable; plus first episode, so I guess it's a bit easier to accept. Also, I feel like this show does a much better job at making Peter Adorkable; he has the excitement of a science nerd over the place, yet he still has somewhat restrain. Also, so far good sense of drama and tone. And I get the feeling this Peter actually is a science geek rather than just the funny guy.
I just realized something, too; this is actually the first time since the 90s series the show actually opens with Spidey's origin story. Spider-Man Unlimited took pace as a spin-off, the CGI Spider-Man series was made as a continuation of the first movie, Spectacular Spider-Man shew it much later as flashbacks during the Venom saga, and USM just briefly alluded it. Sooooo, for all the people being sick of hearing it, it's actually been a while since we saw a retelling of it in animation.
Overall, I am REALLY excited for this one now. Look forward watching it.
The 90's series DID NOT start with Spidey's origin. It was shown way later on the third season or so. Sorry for the caps but the help with italics doesnt work.

I enjoyed it.
No, I had the same thought. It has a very Animesque vibe I can't quite put my finger on.
And now it's embedded onto this forum:
I'm much more optimistic for the series now that they've actually put up something that gives me a good idea of what the tone and style of the series will look like.
I'm glad they seem to have dropped the weirdly detailed style the previous show attempted. Coloring's maybe still a bit too flat, though.
Alistair Spencer Smythe looks like a Hipster, though. Making him the most evil supervillain of all.

x 6 You could say the same for everyone insisting that high school Spider-Man is overdone, even though he's barely been a factor in the movies and only two (soon to be three) cartoons focus on him.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).This show looks fantastic!

Ok. This is looking interesting so far.
Wondering how this relates to the rest of the Marvel animated canon (is Avengers Assembled even still running?) however.
Also, I think this is the first time Harry has also been portrayed as a science geek too.
One Strip! One Strip!
Yeah, that seems like a first and something different.
I like that, although I would have like it if the voice for Peter was less annoying.
MIAI don't know, it sounds fine to me. Definitely an improvement over Drake Bell. And he actually feels intelligent this time.
Geez there sure are a lot of Spider-Man animated series. What's the best one? Are they all even distinct from each other or were they a bunch of separate failed attempts to tell the same story?
3DS FC: 1719-3694-1541They're all fairly distinct from one another, like their DC counterpart the Batman shows (who are also generally at least somewhat distinct).
Among the fanbase, the favorites tend to be the 90's spider-man cartoon and spectacular spider-man. My personal favorite is the 90's cartoon.
Best theme, also. And probably the most impact on canon (this show pretty much invented the symbiote arc as we know it).
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Yeah, I remember the 90s show. Personally I feel it hasn't aged that well compared to, say, the DCAU. But it had some good elements, and most importantly the best Spider-man theme ever. Though Spectacular comes close behind.

I'm still kind of amazed that the only voice actor announced for the series is Fred Tatasciore, as Max Modell.
And he's still the only voice actor I know for sure is in the series.
