A Game of Gods Season 3: Nemesis

Go To

"Tomorrow, NCS 3 launches it's new flagship reality show, Nemesis. The whole production has been shrouded in secrecy since day one, but early this morning the channel finally gave us the details. Here today to talk us through those details is our entertainment correspondent, Evelyn Williams.”

“Thanks, Marcus. Rumours about Nemesis have been around for months, but the two biggest ones were confirmed today. Both Donald Kimball and Craig Mc Dermot have been acquired by NCS 3 for the show. For those who don’t know, Donald Kimball was the safety consultant for Fighting With The Stars, and developed the BOC resurrection system that allowed for the weekly deathmatches, while Craig Mc Dermot was the multiversal travel consultant on Jean and Christie Do The Multiverse.

“Oh, I love that show! When are they starting Season Five?”

“As soon as they break Jean and Christie out of that prison.”

“So, what did they get Kimball and Mc Dermot for?”

“Well, Nemesis seems like the usual premise: two teams of people who don’t like each other living in the same house and competing in challenges against each other. What Nemesis is doing differently is that these two groups are some of the multiverse’s biggest heroes and villains, and they’re allowing the groups to murder each other whenever they want.”

“So that’s what the BOC is for, then?”

“Yup. And the challenges are going to be set in different universes, to give even more variety.”

“So, do we know who’s going in?”

“They haven’t revealed that just yet, Marcus. They have revealed the host, though. Some unknown named Liberty Mc Trustworthy.”

“Liberty Mc Trustworthy? That has to be a stage name.”

“I dunno, Marcus. You gotta remember that Timothy Bryce was actually named Harmony Worldpeace before the lawsuit.”

“People call their children anything nowadays. Thanks for coming on Evelyn, next up on Wake Up Call we have Hugh Anthony with the news.”

Hello, and welcome to A Game of Gods: Nemesis, a third-generation AGOG crossover game. The premise of this one is similar to the last season’s Taskforce Sifuri, in that we’ll be pitting two teams against each other during the challenges. However, the one downfall of Taskforce Sifuri was that the difference between the two teams wasn’t stark enough. They eventually learned to get along.

This go around, that won’t happen. Nemesis is pitting Heroes, people of moral character and decisive action, against Villains, those who would harm the innocent in pursuit of their goals. We’re dividing this along moral lines, not Protagonist/Antagonist lines: if your “good guy” is a puppy-kicking, village burning asshole, they’re going on the Villain team.

What makes Nemesis unique in AGOG’s history is the setting: several of the games so far have been the product of bored Nomads looking for entertainment, but this time around it’s an advanced human society that’s holding our heroes and villains captive. And with humans comes a love for that most basic of entertainment: Reality TV.

With the “help” of an energetic host, the Heroes and Villains will face off in a variety of challenges, battling for each challenge’s reward, and gaining wins that will be tallied in the end to find the ultimate winner between good and evil. This ultimate reward? The technology that makes the show run: multiversal travel, revival of the dead, instantaneous teleportation, weapons capable of killing anyone in the cast, and much much more. Everything an aspiring villain needs to fulfill their heart’s desires. And everything a hero wants to keep out of their hands.

Of course, some of the cast may just want to enact revenge on the people who would pluck them from their lives and mess with them for petty amusement. Although the producers have made every measure to keep themselves safe, technology isn’t infallible…

In between these challenges, though, there is one ongoing challenge: trying to live in the same house as people who hate you on principle. And there’s nothing to stop them from trying to kill you over and over and over again, even if they succeed.

You have to remember though: the opposite team might not be the only ones who don’t like you.

Despite this being a sequel to two previous sets of games, you don’t have to be an AGOG Veteran to join in on the fun, and inexperienced players are completely welcome. The plot connection between this game and previous games is extremely loose.

So let’s get this show on the road, shall we?

Rules:

Signup Rules:

Two characters per player, one for each team. Any more than that will be taken on case-by-case basis, but if we believe that you’re able to handle it, we’ll allow it. Try and stick with two to start with, though.

Duos are allowed, but we’ll taking it on a case-by-case basis. In the past, “duo” has meant characters such as Jak and Daxter, where only one is combat-effective and the other just serves as someone to bounce off of, personality-wise. If you feel like your character’s personality works best when they have their constant partner around, but both are combat-capable (for example, Grif and Simmons from Red Vs Blue work best as a double act), send the pair at us and we’ll discuss it.

We’d also like to keep powerlevels at a reasonable standard, but anything can be nerfed. Even if you think your character is too powerful, send them our way and we’ll discuss it. Rule of thumb, though: if your character can cause or fix natural disasters single-handedly in a short length of time, expect some nerfs.

Gameplay Rules:

No real specific rules, but keep to general R Ping etiquette. No ghosting (simply ignoring any attacks sent your character’s way); no autohitting (whether your character’s attack lands is up to the other player, not you); no taking control of other people’s characters, etc. Of course, this being etiquette and not laws, you can make breaches if they’re discussed with the other player beforehand.

The only real rule is that GM rulings are final, and must be obeyed, though if you have objections these rulings can be politely discussed.

And of course, obey all Forum Rules, especially those specific to the RP Forums.

Once you’re done here, head on over to the Discussion Thread (Don’t try and read it all, we prefer our players alive) and the actual game thread.

Your G Ms (Makaioh, Meanken, wikkit and Katarsus) hope you enjoy your time playing in A Game of Gods: Nemesis.

Hey guys.

I recall Strat said that we could take his characters with out asking for permission. I was wondering if I could pick up Superman, if you would allow me.

Right. Baring any objctions from my fellow G Ms, I am prepared to allow you to claim Superman. I will recommend you review the signup closely and ensure you understand the already agreed on nerfs to Superman, which are substantial, and I also advise speaking with Strat to get an idea what he was thinking for the character, since he's made a couple alterations from what can be roughly (This is DC after all, who discards their canon almost yearly these days) called "canon" Superman.

Since Yaone isn't really working, I'm going to sign up as someone else, a little more suited to the RP.

  • Name:Lirael

  • Age:19

  • Appearance: Bells have never looked so badass.

  • Universe: Old Kingdom Chronicles

  • Personality: Lirael is quiet, contemplative. Once very insecure, she gained some confidence upon finding her place in the world. She tends to be shy until pushed too far, tending to snap at people and demand quiet or to be left alone. She becomes very focused once she sees a task that she must do, but otherwise will seem normal. She is not above lying to achieve a goal, and, will snark when she wishes to. Due to her heritage, she can be rather morbid, and curious.

  • Backstory:
    • Lirael was born a Daughter of the Clayr, a group of people with the ability to see the future. Completely Sightless, this marked her as an outcast, which eventually led her to attempt to throw herself of a mountain. Intercepted, she was given a job in the Library of the Clayr, a place in which Librarians have to have a mounted whistle in case something is holding both their arms back. She devoted her spare time to attempting to unlock extra keys so she could explore beyond where she was allowed.
    • After succeeding, she accidentally woke a Stilken, a powerful (for her, a least) Free Magic creature that she managed to momentarily seal, at the cost of losing her voice for a couple of weeks. Somehow, in the process, a dog statuette found its way into her pocket. This statuette would become a basis for a Charter sending, a creature made entirely of magic with very little physical form. After a year of study, Lirael attempted this.
    • It didn't go as planned. Lirael had instead given form to the (unknown to her at that stage) last remnant of Kibeth, one of the strongest Free Magic creatures to exist. But Kibeth was friendly, and guided Lirael in defeating the Stilken. In the next few years, Lirael and the Disreputable Dog (as Kibeth chose to be called) explored more of the Library and sealed even more Free Magic creatures.
    • One her 19th birthday, Lirael and the Dog explored once more, and found their way onto a place known as Lirael's Path, a place the past Clayr had built for her. At the end of the Path she found objects that had been left there for her. These would help her on the quest that she was given by the Clayr, to prevent the rising of Orannis, the Destroyer and save the world.
    • Many things happened on this quest, including the loss of the Disreputable Dog, Lirael losing her hand and most importantly, Lirael finding out her place in the world. Lirael is now Abhorsen-in-Waiting, apprentice to Sabriel, her half-sister.

  • Powers/Abilities/Equipment:
    • As an Abhorsen, Lirael can sense Death, and walk into and out of Death with ease. In Death, Lirael's body in Life is covered in ice, and completely unprotected. Though she can sense danger to her body while in Death, it is unlikely that she will be able to get back to it in time to protect herself. To walk in Death safely, Lirael must use particular magics to ensure safe passage among the districts, and must watch for hazards, such as lurkers in Death or necromancers. These hazards include the River that runs through Death, which saps at energy and will even create waves in certain districts.
    • Lirael is a Charter Mage, meaning that she uses magic based around Charter Marks, which must be said, traced, played or whistled. Charter Marks are almost unlimited, but Lirael only knows a small amount. More than anyone outside the Family (Royal, Abhorsen, Clayr, Wallmaker), but a small fraction when compared to the amount that exist. These include four marks which create a diamond of protection around a person, marks used for binding, burning, unmaking, changing the weather (which must be whistled) and marks used for normal attacking. More powerful marks can be linked to lesser ones for spells of greater complexity, and each one has a separate name. When using certain spells, it is entirely possible that the caster will use Charter Marks they couldn't use normally. Objects can be enchanted with Charter Marks, but that is the domain of the Wallmakers.
    • As a Charter Mage, Lirael can sense Free Magic, which registers as an acrid metallic taste. This only counts for Free Magic from her world. She can also use some Free Magic, that which pertains to travelling in Death.
    • Lirael can cook, swordfight very well and is an decent archer.
    • Equipment:
      • Goldenhand:After losing her hand, another was fashioned of gold and Charter Magic. This works as her hand but is hard to destroy.
      • Sword: A sword fashioned from Charter Magic and steel, it it unusually effective against the Dead, as it will tear their flesh without needing to use other Charter Magic. It is also used in the binding of Free Magic creatures as a conduit for Charter Marks. It also makes casting spells easier, as some Charter Marks already exist within the sword.
      • The Book Of Remembrance and Forgetting:A very unusual book, that only Lirael can open or close, it provides information on how to use the tools of a Rembrancer, and how to safely traverse Death. The pages will change between reading, and there is some information which a reader will forget until it's actually needed.
      • The Dark Mirror: A mirror usable only by a Rembrancer, and only in Death, the Dark Mirror is used to look back in time. It has one side a normal mirror, so that the user may watch their back in Death, and one side that shows the past. The further into Death the user goes, the further back they can see, so in the Ninth District, Lirael can see as far back as the beginning of the world.
      • The Bells: The tool of both a Necromancer and an Abhorsen, Lirael's bells are Free Magic sealed with Charter Magic. All of the bells are meant for use against the Dead and Free Magic creatures, and so are more effective against them. They also have particular effects when rung in partnership with another bell.
    • Ranna, the Sleeper. She brings sleep to those who hear her. When used on humans, it will, provided that they are tired, slip them gently into sleep. If they are dying, it will nudge them along the way, allowing them to slip peacefully into Death. Ranna is not particularly effective against the Dead, as they have no need for sleep.
    • Mosrael, the Waker. Rarely used by Abhorsens, but the favoured bell of necromancers, Mosrael brings the listeners to Life, while the wielder is sent further into Death.
    • Kibeth, the Walker. Kibeth is an unruly bell, but, when wielded with a firm hand, can make others go where the wielder wishes. If the wielder is uncertain, Kibeth can make them walk where they do not wish to go. It can make the Dead walk back into Death, particularly in tandem with Saraneth, but has not much effect on the living, unless they are weak-minded. Though Kibeth is unruly, Lirael finds it reliable, because of the Dog.
    • Dyrim, the Speaker. Dyrim can give speech, or take it. Often used on the Dead to allow their recollections to be spoken. However, Dyrim can also be used to stop a tongue that wags too freely.
    • Belagaer, the Thinker. Scorned by necromancers, Belagaer can be used to allow the Dead to think, or erase memories. Sometimes used by the Abhorsen to make someone forget a particularly painful memory.
    • Saraneth, the Binder. Beloved by Abhorsens, Saraneth binds all who hear it the the will of the wielder. It is a reliable bell, and will ring as its wielder wishes. Very rarely used against the living, it is usually used to bind Free Magic creatures and the Dead.
    • Astarael, the Weeper, the Sorrowful. This bell throws all who hear it, including the wielder, into Death. Only ever used as a last resort, and by far the most powerful of the bells. Astarael is not to be used.

  • Nerfs:

  • Why are they on Team Hero?:Lirael is selfless and self-sacrificing, dedicating her life for the peace of her Kingdom.

Ok so I have some bad news. From what I can tell, the vast majority of this characters powers involves access to an alternate dimension that no other character is going to have access to, which is more or less unworkable for this RP, Not to mention the power is more or less worthless given the lack of methods to use it against anyone. Additionally, the magic powers are far too vague and undefined to be allowed, what with the power to mix your spells into whatever the plot demands, and beyond that this character is more or less completely useless against anyone other then Jan and his zombies. And that's not even getting into the bells, most of which would need to be removed or seriously nerfed.

Thus, this signup is denied.

Trying again.

  • Name:Hazel Levesque

  • Age: 14

  • Appearance:She tends to wear purple.

  • Universe: Heroes of Olympus

  • Personality: Hazel is kind, loyal and adorable. Being born in the 1930's, Hazel is occasionally taken aback by modern attitudes and behaviors. Nevertheless, she learns fast, and can be fierce when defending those that she loved. She has her moments of snark, but is often sweet and nice.

  • Backstory:
    • Hazel was born to a single mother in Atlanta, fairly poor. In 1930. Her mother was a voodoo witch, and once summoned Pluto, instead of anyone else. Life was okay, but everything changed when they moved to Alaska. Once they moved, Gaia and her mother set Hazel to ressurecting the first of the giants. This failed when, upon the last night, Hazel brought the cavern down instead of letting the giant rise. This killed her. In the Underworld, she chose to go to the Fields of Asphodel instead of letting her mother go to Tartarus. Years passed.
    • Then the Doors of Death were opened, and Hazel was pulled from Death into life by Nico, a child of Hades. Nico had been searching for his sister, but rescued Hazel when he realised she was different to the other denziens of the Fields. She was then placed in Camp Jupiter, a place for Roman demigods.
    • Hazel was put in the Fifth Cohort, a place for the misfits. Looked down upon and somewhat hated, this changed when Percy Jackson joined the camp. Together with Frank Zhang (her now-boyfriend) they rescued Thanatos, and then went on another quest to defeat Gaia.
    • When these quests were successful, Hazel went back to normal life.

  • Powers/Skills/Equipment:
    • Mist: Hazel can summon and control the Mist, the veil between the two worlds. This translates to powers of illusion and trickery. Hazel can manipulate people to see what they want to see. This takes time, and effort, but means she can disguise people and objects. This power only works if Hazel shows them what they want to see, even if it's not what is actually happening. If Hazel is distracted or attacked while this is happening (any kind of surprise) the illusion will drop. She can also manipulate pre-existing Mist structures to her own purposes.
    • Riches of the Earth/Blingomancy: Hazel can sense and summon any precious metals or gems nearby, which has many uses, usually pelting people with them. She can do this no matter the weight of the item, but larger amounts will take longer and be harder, especially if she tries to do something else. These used to be cursed, but the curse was broken, and so no longer matters.
    • Underground sense/Geomancy:Hazel can sense underground tunnels and find her way through them. If there are enough tunnels, however, she becomes confused and close to useless. She can also collapse tunnels.
    • Roman Training: Hazel is a good swordsman, and a decent archer. She also knows other forms of self-defense. She has training in seige warfare, and is, as a Roman demigod, fluent in both classical and archaic Latin.
    • Horse-riding:Hazel loves horse-riding, and is very good at it. She also has a horse, but for obvious reasons, it has not come with her.
    • Sword: Hazel's sword ( a spatha, a calvary sword, which is longer than the norm for Romans) is unusual, in that it cannot harm ordinary human beings. It will go straight through them, but can harm anyone unusual in any way. If Hazel is stabbed by it, it will wound both her body and soul, so the physical wound will not heal until the spiritual wound does.
    • Ambrosia and nectar: The food of the gods. As a demigod, Hazel can consume small amounts of both of these things to speed healing. Too much of it, however, and it will burn her from the inside out. Any normal person will burn from the inside out if they consume any of it. Hazel has about 4 squares of ambrosia and a juice pouch of nectar.

  • Why are they on Team Hero?: She's saved the world once and is a very good human being.

  • Name: Roman Torchwick
  • Age: Unknown, Most likely somewhere from mid 20s to early 30s.
  • Appearance: Now, I'll be the first to admit, humans... are the worst. Case in point.
  • Universe: RWBY
  • Personality:
    • On the surface, Roman Torchwick is a very formal and charming person. He's calmly spoken, and constantly carries himself with a natural swagger and suaveness. Even during heavy combat, he always has something to say. Taunting, mocking, and insulting those he faces while rarely losing his cool; Even in seemingly bad situations. This can lead to him being a bit too cocky at times, though.
    • He's also a cruel, ruthless and almost sadistic criminal, who is willing to do pretty much anything to achieve his goal. Going so far as to try and kill children who get in the way of his plans, and laughing while doing so. He also has a blatant disregard for any life barring his own and his partner in crime, and enjoys causing destruction and death. Along with this, he's also fairly pragmatic and knows when to cut his losses and retreat for a bad situation, or when to wait and bide his time to take advantage of something. He's incredibly intelligent, and worthy of the title 'Criminal Mastermind'.
    • That said, when he does finally lose his temper, things get violent. When irritated or annoyed, he becomes hostile and has been known to violently take it out on both his opponents, and those working under him.
    • He believes that heroism and idealism, especially when the odds are stacked against you, are stupid and pointless and will only end in dying; No matter how strong or determined you are.
    • Roman is also incredibly xenophobic, and sees any species that isn't human as lesser and has little to no respect for them, such as the Faunus of his world; Calling them mutts and animals and talking about them and to them in a blatantly derogatory manner.
  • Backstory:
    • It is unknown for how long Roman Torchwick has been a criminal, but at some point in his recent past, he was approached by a woman by the name of Cinder Fall. She 'acquired' his talents, and set him to work robbing every Dust store and supplier in Vale, for reasons even he didn't know. She would also force the criminal to co-operate and work with the White Fang, a faunus terrorist group with an extreme hatred for humans, in achieving her unknown plan.
    • During this, he would several times run into members of team RWBY and their friends, who constantly attempted to thwart his plans to varying success. At the culmination of the kingdom-wide Dust theft, he was ordered by Cinder to transport all the dust along with the White Fang troops to the now abandoned Mountain Glenn, Vale's first attempt at expansion, deep within the caves turned giant tomb beneath it.
    • Part way through the set-up, team RWBY arrived and made Roman trigger the plan earlier than it was meant to. The plan being to drive a train full of Dust and explosives down the once sealed subway tunnels that lead to Vale, and blow open holes along the way to let in Grimm before, ultimately blowing a way into the heart of Vale and letting them loose on the population.
    • But, thanks to the efforts of team RWBY and others, the plan was stopped before the breach could become too large and the Grimm that did get in driven back before the hole was sealed. An unconscious Roman, who had been bested and knocked unconscious by Blake Belladonna aboard the train, was captured and held imprisoned on one of the Atlesian Airships under the command of General Ironwood. Where he now waited until the next phase of the plan would begin.
  • Powers/Abilities/Equipment:
    • Aura:
      • Aura is the manifestation of one's soul in the RWBY universe, and can be used for a wide range of abilities. The specific abilities and their strengths differ from individual to individual and are dependent on a number of factors, such as experience, training, and innate skill. It is mentioned that anything with a soul has an Aura, including Humans and Faunus; [[spoilers: even synthetic persons with souls, such as Penny Polendina, can generate an Aura.]] The Creatures of Grimm, being soulless, are the only known form of life that does not have Aura.
      • Aura is primarily used as a defensive mechanism. Passively coating the wielder in a protective force field, it can protect a combatant from what would normally be a fatal blow. And so long as they have some reserves of Aura remaining, it can even heal minor wounds. It does not, however, make the user invincible. As they receive more and more damage, their Aura reserve will deplete. If their reserves are extinguished, any following attacks will affect them as if they were just an ordinary human.
      • With their ability to amplify and control their Aura, they can even use it to attack. Seen examples of this include aura-coloured shockwaves used to propel projectiles by hand, and also cause targets to explode. It is also stated that all tools and equipment are conduits for a person's Aura.
      • A person’s current level of Aura is also able to be monitored and displayed through some unknown means, and even removed from and transferred to other places. It is unknown what effect this would have on either of the people.
    • Fighting Ability:
      • Roman is a highly skilled fighter, and adept at using his cane in a variety of ways. He is highly skilled in wielding it, and can use it in unusual ways in a fight to throw off his opponents and catch them by surprise. He has incredible reflexes, able to keep track and keep up with opponents who have enhanced speed, deflect point blank gunshots with his cane, and hold his own against multiple opponents at once with little struggle. He has exceptional accuracy, able to shoot opponents across considerable distances and hook them with his grappling hook on clothing as they flee.
      • However, Roman is liable to underestimate his opponents, and if taken by surprise has trouble adapting to it. He is also more likely to flee if given the chance, then stick around and fight anymore than necessary.
    • Piloting: Roman is a highly skilled pilot, and seems capable of piloting a range of different machines with ease. He has been seen piloting a Bullhead aircraft while being bombarded by multiple attacks, [[spoilers: was able to effortlessly pilot a massive mechanized battle-suit into combat with ease, and even solo piloted a massive Atlesian Warship and used it to destroy two others.]] He is either trained extensively in a number of different machines, or is a very quick and skilled learner.
    • Planning: Roman is a criminal mastermind who is able to plan and carry out incredibly effect heists, schemes and robberies. Including one that targeted the entire city of Vale/ Even apparently having stolen the majority of the Dust in Vale, and still not caught even with the authorities aware of what he was doing. He also almost always has a back-up plan or a mode of escape if things go wrong, and was able to get away more often than not.
    • Pickpocketing: Roman has shown himself to be a very skilled pickpocket, and is easily able to lift objects off of targets without them even noticing.
    • Melodic Cudgel:
      • Roman's cane and weapon of choice. What looks like a fairly ordinary cane is actually a fairly dangerous weapon, particularly in its owner's hand. When used in combat, the base of the cane flips up to reveal an aiming reticle and expose the muzzle of the weapon. It fires an unstable fiery shot of what is most likely dust, which creates a distinct whistling explosives, and detonates on impact. The explosions it creates are strong enough to shatter concrete, and most likely lethal to any standard person.
      • It can fire these shots in rapid succession and seems to not need to be reloaded, or reloaded only occasionally. Whatever the cane is made out of has made it incredibly strong and it is able to deflect both strong blows from bladed weapons and bullets with no visible damage. The handle of the weapon also contains a long tether that can be used to grapple and pull targets towards Roman, or pull himself away from places. It is also able to hook Roman’s own flares, and redirect them wherever he chooses.
  • Why are they on Team Villain?: He's not a good guy by any stretch. He's selfish, cruel and happy to do whatever it takes to ensure he comes out on top and alive.

Hazel

  • Illusions-No Illusion may be bigger in general mass then a two story house. Any form of interference, be it a bullet hitting it, a person walking through it, whatever, will end the illusion.
  • Metal Summon-I need something clarified, can these things pop up in midair as a makeshift anvil? Regardless, no gem larger then a human head may be summoned, keep in mind these things are probably quite heavy if large enough, and no summoning of "restricted" items like, say, uranium.

Roman

  • Just to be clear, while "Enhanced reflexes" is vague at best, be fair, don't go ghosting attacks and whatnot from multiple people if they focus on him.
  • Also keep in mind that "Rapid firing explosive shot cane" is a tad abuseable, so the power might be nerfed a touch, enough so that one glancing hit won't mean insta death for the target.

If you agree to both of these, you are Accepted

They arrive in the form they were buried in. If they were buried as swords, she'll pull up a sword, and she can't pull them into midair, just onto the surface. When she pelted someone with them, she was pulling them from the ground above the underground cave.

I'm fine with the nerfs, but is there a limit on how many she can sumjon? For example, when she was agitated, she summoned a pile of silver coins.

Let's say she can summon as many as he wants individually, but put together they cannot exceed the already accepted mass limit.

With that, your character is accepted. Both of you will be added to the game in my next post.

I've moved this here so I can edit it more easily with my new handle.

  • Name: Mamizou Futatsuiwa
  • Age: Hard to say with youkai, as they are essentially ageless. She appears to be in her 30s, however.
  • Appearance: With some friends, in human disguise (also serves as a good outfit reference), clearer ears and tail reference.
  • Universe: Touhou Project
  • Personality: Good-natured, friendly, very self-confidant and largely unflappable - maybe a little smug. She is also very mischievous, enjoying playing pranks on humans and watching them fluster and squirm, and isn’t above manipulating people from behind the scenes to further her own goals. Despite this, she doesn’t wish serious harm on her victims. She often goes around helping those less fortunate, and will work hard whenever someone asks for her help.
  • Backstory: Originally the leader of the tanuki on the island of Sado, she moved from the outside world to the closed-in alternate dimension of Gensokyo to help her friends fight off a youkai-exterminating saint. Once that incident was resolved, she set up shop in Gensokyo and quickly became one of the leading youkai figures there.
  • Powers/Abilities/Equipment:
    • Youkai physiology: Mamizou is slightly stronger and tougher than a regular human. Not captain-america levels, simply above than you’d expect from a slender 30-something woman.
      • However, as a primarily spiritual creature, she is more susceptible to magic than a human, especially any magic with a basis in faith, belief or divinity.
    • Flight: Flying doesn't take much effort, but she's not especially fast. She is nimble in the air, however, able to twist and rotate freely as she flies.
    • Danmaku: Mamizou can create magical projectiles, usually launched in large, intricate waves. Mamizou’s danmaku take the form of glowing silhouettes of birds, dogs and frogs. They hit with concussive force that can knock people down, but aren’t lethal unless someone gets hit with half a wave at once.
    • Shapeshifting: Mamizou can alter her own appearance, or the appearance of other people or objects. This is not simply an illusion, as she can also alter the physical properties of the target as well. A book made to look like a stone tablet would be as heavy as a block of stone, etc.
      • When she shapeshifts herself to appear like another person, the effect is convincing enough to copy the target’s physical form and voice perfectly.
        • However, she can’t (or won’t) completely hide certain aspects of her original shape – her tail, ears and leaf hat - although she can shrink them down to hide them. For instance, when disguised as a human she will often leave her leaf hat in the form of a small hairclip, hide her ears in her hair, and will shrink her tail until it fits under a long skirt.
        • She may be able to copy the sound of a target’s voice, but can’t (or won’t) copy their accent and mannerisms.
      • When she shapeshifts other people or objects, the effect is much more limited.
        • If the new form is not at least somewhat similar to the original form, the effect will break under any scrutiny.
        • For objects, the illusion can't be much bigger than the approximate area of a 2-story house. Destroying the illusory object breaks the illusion completely.
        • She is unable to create working, complex machinery.
        • Applying this effect requires Mamizou to physically touch the object or person in question.
        • If done to an unwilling target, the effect can be shaken off with a few seconds of mental effort.
  • Why are they on Team Hero?: She's on team hero because, despite her mischievous or manipulative tendencies, she has a good heart. Besides, Team Hero needs a shit-stirrer.

Yeah, because Bowser isn't working out to well and he may be in a future challenge, I'll be replacing him with this blast from the past.

  • Name: Tron Bonne
  • Age: 14
  • Appearance: A girl, her mecha, and her Servbots...
  • Universe: Mega Man Legends
  • Personality: Being the head mechanic of the Bonne family, Tron Bonne is extremely intelligent and knows it. She thinks extremely highly of herself and comes across as very arrogant, insulting others and openly acting bratty. She is prone to mood swings, being calm and collected one moment and fiery and angry the next. She is shown to deeply care about her creations, almost like a mother, especially towards the Servbots.
  • Backstory: Tron Bonne is the only daughter of the Bonne family, an infamous band of air pirates that pillage areas for ancient technology. The Bonne family is part of an alliance of air pirates that search for the technology to harness for their own gain. Tron specifically designs all the mecha and weapons for the Bonne family, and they use her inventions to continuously antagonize Mega Man Volnutt and his friends (although she does have a crush on him, and helps him out sometimes).
  • Equipment/Abilities: As said before, she is a genius mechanic and she can create lots of machinery and weapons for others to use. Her gadgets can also enable her to communicate with and figure out plans from far distances. Specifically for her, she uses..
    • Gustaff: Her main mode of transportation, her trademark is an interchangeable mech that can be used as a vehicle, a radio communicator, a weapon that can use guns, a flamethrower and a bomber, and a beacon that can guide people to their destination. Unfortunately for her, the Gustaff can be easily destroyed often. Also as there is not enough room in the house to fit it, I took some liberty and made the Gustaff when not in use retractable into a small crate (like Ryuko's scissor blade).
    • Servbots: Her other signature invention, the Servbots are robots that Tron uses for any use she sees fit. She uses the Servbots for espionage, attacking in large numbers, lifting things she can't lift, and overall just help her with everyday jobs and chores. They act child-like otherwise and needs Tron's guidance for maximum effectiveness. She can create up to 40 of these Servbots, but this will be shortened to the whims of the GM.
  • Why are they on Team Villain?: She's a criminal working with a criminal family, doing criminal things. She may have a moral compass, but it doesn't show.

[up][up]Ok so ignoring the powers for a minute, I have a serious issue with this signup. Namely, she's....not really a villain. Just a basic review of the character page tells me she's far too nice compared to most of the villains, develops a crush on the main hero partly because he's a hero, and the only reason she remains on the villains side is family loyalty, which, obviously, is not going to be a thing here. You might need to find a different character to take the villain slot, as it stands now, she's not going to work at all.

[up] Meh, she still conducts herself as a villain much of the time and she's really the brains of the Bonne family. She's the one mostly behind their being air pirates and is the one that makes good of the Bonne family being competent wanted criminals. I feel she can fit Team Villain.

Look I really don't think this is a good idea. This is not a game where iffy villains/heroes fit in. Just look at the roster of villains, and for the most part you'll find little disputing any of them belong anywhere but team villain, and those few who can be argued is because they come from less comical universes, and even then they've generally done far worse then I think this character has. Token good teammates are not something that generally work here because it's going to end up only getting the character eaten alive by the other villains. I'm going to have to insist you try again.

Hey Meanken, I heard you like characters with time powers, teleportation mechanics, and ambiguous physical capabilities, so I got you something~.grin

  • Name: Illyria

  • Age: Mentally and Spiritually, older than the first muck that would become the first protoplasm that would become the first human. Physically, about mid-thirties.

  • Appearance: I traveled all of them as I pleased. I walked worlds of smoke and half-truths, intangible. Worlds of torment and of unnamable beauty. Opaline towers as high as small moons. Glaciers that rippled with insensate lust. And one world with nothing but shrimp. I tired of that one quickly.

  • Universe: Angel

  • Personality: In her heyday, Illyria possessed power and an army enough that her entering a room was enough to guarantee her ownership of the continent. Now she... doesn't, and is taking it rather poorly. Illyria herself is a listless, violent presence, unable or unwilling to sport the imagination necessary to conquer the world in any way other than clenching it in her iron-clad grip. But beneath the bluster and arcane insults, the beating heart of Winifred "Fred" Burkle still guides her actions, enforcing a layer of empathy that Illyria is completely unused to. She also possesses a bizarre sense of honor, practically inconprehensible to anyone who wasn't also a primordial God King from before the Birth of Man. Go figure.

  • Backstory:

    • A really really really really really really long time ago, the world was a bizarre wasteland that modern minds could scarcely comprehend. Illyria was foremost among the landscape, an Old One in every sense of the word, waging war against her peers with her unbeatable army and almost unlimited power.

    • Unfortunately, at some point, she kicked the bucket. But that was not the end. Old Ones do not die the same as mortal creatures, and after a scheme that spanned millenia, Illyria was able to reincarnate violently and unwillingly into the body of Winnifred "Fred" Berkle. After a short period of exploration, murder, and kung-fu fighting, Illyria found out with no small amount of confusion and despair that her hyper long-game had managed to outlive all of her subordinates, leaving nothing but an empty, desecrated temple.

    • Deprived of purpose, Illyria found herself wandering modern-day LA, trying to get a feel for the purpose of her place in this new world. Until, of course, she was lifted from the world entirely...

  • Powers/Abilities/Equipment:

    • Demon God Body: Illyria is the personification of an ancient, uncaring superbeing, and that comes with some perks.

      • Strength: Illyria is strong enough to punch through a car engine block, full stop.

      • Speed: Illyria's speed is comparable to a marathon runner's, and would probably be able to catch up to that car.

      • Durability: Illyria is strong enough to be able to take a hit from said car, though not too many of its friends.

      • Agility/Dexterity: While more than capable of tanking most hits, Illyira also nimble enough to pirouette out of the way if she needs to, and has the hand-eye coordination to fend off two fronts simultaneously.

    • Demon God Hax Time Manipulation: Even with a fraction of her immense power, Illyria could freely slow down or freeze the flow of time around her as she pleased. To accommodate an RP environment, this has been limited to two main uses:

      • Time Slow: Illyria can produce a visible, blurred field in front of her able to slow nonorganic objects coming through it to 1/2 speed—think bullets, cars, and swords being swung at her. Typical uses of this power last for around ten to fifteen seconds, but she can push the duration to thirty if she exerts herself.

      • Time Speed: With a snap of her fingers, Illyria can speed up her own personal time by 2x. This allows her to move two times as fast (obviously) but also causes other processes to move faster, such as bleeding out. She is able to keep up this mode for just thirty seconds at a time, but that's technically one full minute for her, so hey, everything's relative.

    • Dimension Hopping: Illyria was also able to tear open a portal to another dimension, with no GPS coordinates more complicated than learning that it existed. Now, this has been reduced to two main uses as well:

      • Portal Transportation: Illyria can rip open a portal in space leading to a different portal in space. Limit is 25 meters in any direction, and she has to be able to see it—so no transporting directly into locked houses. If she goes through it closes instantly, but she can hold it open for others to go through in front of her. Limit 3(?) people through at a time, not including her.

      • Pocket Dimension: Through the same process as above, Illyria can open up a small portal in order to access a small, interdimensional stash of stuff she picks up. The space is limited to about the size of the interior of a large refrigerator, and the portal itself isn't big enough to fit someone in, save for perhaps their head.

    • Weapon/Hand-to-Hand Proficiency: Due to millenia of warfare and Fred's memories, Illyria is competent if not masterful with a wide variety of bladed weaponry. Her favorite is dual short swords, but she isn't picky. Unfortunately, she does not carry any weaponry with her, and will need to scrounge the enviroment, enemies, or even allies for suitable implements.

    • Freaky Senses: Illyria's perception of the world is... odd, to say the least. She can see the surrounding atoms and their interactions to the point where she can count them if she puts her mind to it, is able to determine the chemical composition of something by ingesting it, can see the edges of different intersecting dimensions in the air around her, can sense the emotions of other living beings, note  and is able to talk to plants.

    • Limited Shapeshifting: Illyria claims to be able to look however she pleases, but at least now she's stuck as blue. With one notable exception: she can effortlessly adopt the original form and mannerisms of her host, Fred, to the point where Fred's own parents can hardly tell that anything is wrong. The extent to which this personality infringes on her own, is uncertain.

  • Why are they on Team Villain?: Illyira is honestly apathetic to most things, be they hero or villain. But her primary goal is still the total subjugation of our mortal plain, and that sounds pretty villainous to me.

Mostly good. One thing we need, time limits on the time slow field and time speedup. Given how you've gone through the effort of doing the rest of the nerfs already, I'll allow you to propose a time limit you feel is reasonable.

Right, so my current count says the heroes have a 3 man advantage on the Villains. Thus, I am temporarily closing Team Hero signups until things become just a tad more balanced.

Also Un, you are accepted and will be added after voting is over
