Arc System Works general thread

Anyone thats a sports type as described int he Ultimate Talent Development Plan via V3 can work.

Arc system works making Anime licensed games makes sense, since they already make anime fighters as their bread and butter to begin with. They've already done a few of them before Fighter Z anyhow.

Even if a character isn't actually a fighter, I could see them having a playstyle centered around their talent.

Yeah but they do have original series to make. I'd certainly rather have another Guilty Gear over a Jojo game.

Easier said than done. The vast majority of them would require a good deal of mental gymnastics to even qualify for that.

Arc Sys managed to make an idol singer who'd never fought before a fighting game character. They can figure it out.

That's not hard at all.

I doubt every character would be a fighter (lord help me if Hiyoko is playable) but just going series-by-series there's plenty of characters for... like, around 25 playable characters. And that's only counting the Ultimates.

Or they could just make a new cast of characters for the game if they wanted, but I dunno if that's the route they'd want to take.

If they make a Danganronpa Fighter, the ideal way to make it in my eyes (Even though I know it would never happen) would be to make it a slight throwback to the 90's Japanese Fighting Games that tried to take influence from Mortal Kombat, so you have pink blood spraying out of characters whenever they get hit. Also, instead of conventional Fatalities, it's the loser being executed if you pull off the conditions. So the Fatality doesn't depend on the winner, it depends on the loser.

Ibuki Mioda being in a fighting game would be a dream come true for me, so I'm all for a Dangan fighter. Though I haven't gotten around to playing the games yet, I at least have enough knowledge to get a rough idea of how a few characters would play.

With everyone's talk about which anime they'd like to see as an Arc System Works game, I'd like to share my idea; A Mazinger Z fighting game. The idea would be that the game would have two different battle modes, "Normal Battle Mode" and "Giant Battle Mode", and each mode has their own character roster unique to them. The characters included in each roster are;

• Normal Battle Mode: Koji Kabuto, Sayaka Yumi, Boss, Inspector Yamitaro Ankokuji, Dr. Schtroheim Heinrich, Gamia Q, Baron Ashura, Count Brocken, Dr. Hell, Tetsuya Tsurugi, Jun Hono, Archduke Gorgon, Marquis Janus, Duke Fleed, Hikaru Makiba, Maria Grace Fleed, Yuji Daimon, Danbei Makiba, Lady Gandal, Rubina, King Vega, Vegan Soldier, Tsubasa Nishikiori (Assisted by the Kurogane 5)
• Giant Battle Mode: Mazinger Z, Diana A, Boss Borot, Daion γ 3, Baion β 2, Million α 1, Danube α1, Hell King Gordon, Great Mazinger, Venus A, Robot Junior, General JuliCaesar, General Hardias, General Angoras, General Ligern, General Scarabeth, General Draydou, General Birdler, Great General of Darkness, Grendizer, Gandal, Garadoubla MK01, Gilgilgan (Final Boss), Mecha Gilgilgan (Hidden Final Boss)

Mazinkaiser would also appear as a preorder bonus.

Arc System Works has just announced Arc Global Operation for April Fools Day.

And so it begins.

Sakura would be great for a fighting game, Mukuro and Genocide Jack too.

For Danganronpa 2, Akane, Peko and Nekomaru would be the obvious choices.

In V3 all i can think of are Tenko and K1-Bo though. Well, maybe Gonta too.

Which Sakura are we talking about? Anime is lousy with them.

RE: Hypothetical games by Arc System Works:

I have at one point brainstormed the possibility of a Disgaea fighting game by ASW...

I like to think it seems doable after Persona 4: Arena became a thing.

x2 Danganronpa, since they were talking about a Danganronpa fighter.

That would be so cool. With characters from all the games and maybe Zetta and Metallia.

There's a Poll for a what anime you'd like to see get the Figher Z treatment. funny considering the topic I started earlier in this very thread.

I know it was brought up how it's still early, but I really, really, really want an ASW fighter based on My Hero Academia. The Quirks in the series provide a ton of potential gimmicks that would make for a diverse roster; I could see it kinda working like Blazblue's Drives where everyone has a Quirk button or something that gives them access to special moves related to it, i.e. Uraraka's floating, Deku's wind blasts from the flicks, Stain's paralyzing moves, etc.

I can't vote because I'm not logged in, but it looks like everyone who did vote is craving for JoJo's Bizarre Adventure the most.

Also, doesn't Naruto have a frigging series of fighting games already?

(Then again, so did Dragon Ball Z, so never mind.)

Jojo doesn't really need an Arc Sys game IMO. The CyberConnect games are just fine.

I still think there should be a Arc System Works Mazinger Z fighting game!

Studio TRIGGER is teasing some kind of team up with Arc System Works with a countdown website...

There's no telling what's it teasing, but the text looks awfully familiar, don't you think? Although that might be a Red Herring...

In any case, we won't have to wait long to find out, because it should end its countdown this Friday (aka tomorrow) at 8 pm PST (or 11 pm EST).

Arc System Works and Little Witch Academia: Chamber of Time developer APlus Games will be working on a Kill la Kill video game.

Arc System Works released a music video for their 30th anniversary with the following message;

"Arc System Works has somehow managed to stay in the industry and celebrate its 30th anniversary this year. So, we would like to thank all the fans who have supported us throughout the years, as well as various business partners and freelancers who helped us along the way with developing and publishing games. We thank all of you from the bottom of our hearts.

In order to commemorate the 30th anniversary, we created something that will find a home in the hall of fame and peoples' hearts. While our main business is in developing games, we hope this video may put a smile on some faces. It's time for all that hard work to be paid off!"
