In Ninja Gaiden 2 the wind ninpo attack not only does monumental damage, it also slices the limbs off of almost every enemy save for bosses. It does not only do this to the enemy you're targeting, but any enemy in the vicinity of the attack. Any enemy with a missing limb in that game can then be one hit killed by an execution move.
It's my main ninpo for dealing with lots of foes in that game. It makes dealing with crowds a breeze.
Wind is by far the most common weakness in Final Fantasy Tactics A 2, and is resisted by nearly nothing

Chrono Trigger... probably doesn't count, since the Heaven/Sky element comprises everything you could get from those words, including wind, lightning, and holy.
I have a message from another time...Flying-type. Just ask Talonflame in competitive pokemon battling... Gale Wings Brave Bird spam... Not to mention Thundurus and Landorus are pretty high ranked in OU too.
...ehehFire Emblem: Path of Radiance has Wind magic, which while being the weakest, is also the lightest, and comes into fantastic use against Wyvern spam later in the game. And then there's the Sonic Sword in the hands of a high magic Mist...
Also, if you wanted to stretch it, Shovel Knight, where Propeller Knight's stage is arguably the hardest in the game.
A corpse should be left well enough alone...Quest 64 does a good job of making Wind beyond deadly. Except the last attack, ironically called Ultimate Wind. But when the enemies use it, it does immense damage. It's one of the most popular elements due to its great range, and excellent spell choices.
Wind is useful in the Zelda series, sure, but it's not really a go-to element for power or strength. That's more fire's thing.
So, I wonder if Kill It With Wind will become a valid trope someday.

I'm baaaaaaackMega Man 8: Tornado hold was pretty much the best weapon, insane damage, plus that nice jump utility.
Mega Man X: Storm Tornado blows away everything and everyone. One of this and the Giant Mook is DEAD.
Mega Man ZX: Model HX was pretty broken, with airdash, hover, and especially the Charged Attack.

...ehehIn Super Robot Wars, Cybuster is the strongest of the four Elemental Lords. Though its wind theme mostly comes into play as Flight, Super-Speed and Cybird mode rather than being used to attack directly like its counterparts (in fact one of its attacks is fire-based).

I recall in many video games I've played, some of the most powerful elemental damages/defenses one could acquire, included fire, ice, water, lightning, even dark/light. They were the deal-breaker which brought superbosses into power or brought certain storyline enemies to the peak of fearsomeness...except for wind. Control over fires, harnessing lightning, and conjuring the energy of the gods seemed like the epitome of power in many games but I haven't noticed any said enemies seeking out the ability to harness the power of air/wind.
Which games does the "wind" element seem the most potent and destructive?
