I agree. We should probably make a diagram like we did for Decomposite Character.

Maybe G1 Megatron◊ + Film Megatron◊ = Animated Megatron◊.

Actually, of of the main characters have a G1 counterpart, and some share the same name and physical traits as G3 characters, like Pinkie Pie, who was Surprise in G1.
Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed.... holy crap, I read G1 Firefly as GI Joe G1 Firefly. And I was desperately trying to understand how Rainbow Dash was 1/2 ninja saboteur Mad Bomber.

The Your Terrorists Are Our Freedom Fighters personality mostly comes from the Dreamwave/IDW versions of G1 Megatron. The Wicked Cultured aspects come from Beast Wars Megatron more than anything else, really. Although some argument could be said that it's G1 (I think some staff member had it in his personal canon that Megatron was a Cybertronian Blue Blood).

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanMy take on the trope: Zero+Protoman=Battle Network Protoman
"We are not a stuffy encyclopedic wiki. We're a buttload more informal".
I knew he reminded me from Zero when I've watched a few video walkthroughs of those games (mainly because of the sword).
By the way, There's actually a Zero counterpart in the Battle Network universe, so I think while Protoman.EXE's a Composite Character, The real deal also exists in the game (albeit with a different appearance).
We're going to wind up with lots of good suggestions here, aren't we?
I must be cruel, but to be kind That bad may begin, and worse be left behindThe problem with the Megatron pic is that the two Megatrons don't come from the same story, so Animated Megs isn't compressing anything; it's closer to Patchwork Fic, if that trope were a bit broader, or Adaptation Distillation.

Then the trope has a lot of misuse.
We should make a new trope.

ALL THAT YOU ARE IS A FACE IN A MIRROR,IL CLOSE MY EYES AND YOU'LL DISSAPEAR.I'm thinking we could use these two pictures of Lone Starr from Spaceballs comparing with Luke Skywalker◊[1]◊ and Han Solo◊[2]◊. Not sure if these are the best images, but it's certainly a good example. In the meantime, can we all agree to ax the current?

Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed. Here's an idea. Lots of versions of Pride and Prejudice compress Mr Bingley's sisters into one.

I'm not seeing it. Well, I am, just not very strongly.
Check out my fanfiction!Would arrows help? I didn't want it to look exactly like the Decomposite Character picture.
I think the styles are just too different.
Check out my fanfiction!I don't mind if the pic for this trope page matches the format of Decomposite Character.
Another attempt.
I'm not terribly satisfied with it, so ideas for improvement are welcome.
Or ideas which works and characters would be most recognizable.

Clock is set.
Clock's up; locking for inactivity. No action is to be taken based on this thread.
EDIT: I am, however, going to pull the pic for being misleading about the nature of the trope.

Composite Superman, while neat, has nothing to do with the trope other than the name. In fact, it's downright misleading, potentially leading people to believe the trope is about a character who is, in-universe, a spliced version of two existing characters.
I vote to pull.
