For the uninitiated... A contingent of tropers (mostly from across America) holds regular get-togethers over the Interwebs on this site called Synchtube which lets individuals, such as ourselves, open and join in text-based chatrooms within typical web browsers (Firefox, Chrome, et. al.) that allow the chat participants to view YouTube videos in synchronization with everyone else present (without even needing to set up an account)... and we've decided to use said chatrooms to play cheeseball webvideos and feature-length movies found in the public domain which stretch all the way from letters B to Z, which everyone subsequently riffs on a la MST3K.
For over EIGHT years, everybody who gets involved mostly finds good enjoymentnote in calling out tropes that are recognized in the videos and stories and coming up with jokes to fling back at whatever's happening on the screen, many of which turn into various in-jokes and running gags (a Coven Glossary is kept and maintained for everyone's help and convenience HERE) to repeat in the chat.
We're always looking for new ways to better coordinate and expand our activities and are more than happy to welcome newcomers interested in joining our gatherings.

I forgot about this before, but tonight I have babysitting, though it should be brief. It's intended to be from 6-7. Drive up there and back is 20 minutes each way. I'll eat dinner when I come back. So I'll likely be here for at least part of the movie, if not all of the movie but none of the pre-show. Depends on various things, including how long I stay there to hang out with the kids more even after my mom shows up to take over.
I'm up for joining Discord servers! PM me if you know any good ones! It's alright. We'll see you when we see you.
Anyway, some of you remember a couple months ago a little movie called The Curse (), starring a young Wil Wheaton and adapted from H.P. Lovecraft's The Colour Out of Space.
Apparently, it spun off a sequel—Curse II: The Bite (also known simply as The Bite). And that's what's in store for tonight.
(There's also a Curse III out there, which might be harder to track down, that stars Christopher Lee.)
Yeah, it's sounding as if my babysitting now would take even longer; according to a text message from my older brother, I may end up leaving at 7:30 instead of 7. But anyway, I'll see what happens.

Yep, it's a sign that someone in Texas, somewhere, is getting the noose
Maybe sometime this decade
War is God.Okay, first things first, we got episodes of Knightmare and our first ever look at Supermarket Sweep.
Then, at the top of the coming hour, we'll see if we can get through Curse II: The Bite.

So if words like "Lovecraftian" and "Kafkaesque" are acceptable adjectives, what about "Cronenbergian"? "Cronenbergesque"?
In any case, a little something in the style of filmmaker David Cronenberg is just what we have on the cards tonight.
Submitted for your approval, I present to you... Society.
I'm glad Conan O'Brien made a cameo in the movie
War is God.Ha, at least he founds some acting work when not moonlighting as the Doorman at the Five-Timers' Club.
Anyway, we got a great show lined up. Retsupurae return to Afterfall: Insanity, Wink Martindale hosts Debt, and Deeper Understanding teaches us about Urban Rebounding, (Mother Fucker!)
Then, at the top of the coming hour, we find out if we're fit enough for Society.

That was certainly an interesting mix of horror and comedy. Suspense leading up to a shitload of Body Horror with some really strange comedy mixed in. Those last 20 minutes are something else. Glad to see it get ★★★. Those of you who missed it missed one of our rare genuinely good (as in not So Bad, It's Good) movies.

I'm up for joining Discord servers! PM me if you know any good ones!Fun Fact: With the sole exception of Dollsnote (), nothing that's been seen in the coven bearing director/producer Brian Yuzna's name has received a rating lower than . This prestigious class includes Re-Animator, Beyond Re-Animator, The Guyver, Dagon, H.P. Lovecraft's Necronomicon: Book of the Dead, and now Society.
He also (and I'm surprised I never knew this about Mr. Yuzna) was a co-producer and received a "story" credit for Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.
Society was damn fucking good, though. Definitely will have to show it here again sometime for everyone who missed it.
In other news, tonight we got some unintentional prequel to John Carpenter's Escape from LA or something (and Stacy Keach was a figure of authority in that, too!). Future Los Angeles is transformed into a prison and when shit's going down, "only Stacy Keach and Rick Rossovich can stop them."
It's not every day that a movie's own trailer invokes I Am Not Leonard Nimoy...
And, sadly, Stacy Keach's bitchin' mustache◊ will not be starring in the picture.
I give you New Crime City: Los Angeles 2020...

Okay, we got a good show ready to go. First up, more episodes of Supermarket Sweep and Legends of the Hidden Temple (Searching for "The Lucky Pig of Amelia Earhart"... which she obviously didn't have with her when she fell off the face of the Earth).
Then, at the top of the coming hour, we begin New Crime City: Los Angeles 2020.

It's Kung Fu Friday, and, boy, are we in for a treat tonight.
This week, we bring forth a Godfrey Ho movie about a 12-year-old who participates in a brutal bloodsport against adults. Seriously, if we just took Bloodsport, replaced Jean-Claude Van Damme with a Korean pre-teen, and replaced the spoken dialogue with Godfrey Ho's grasp of the English language, this movie is exactly what we'd be get.
I give you... Thunder Ninja Kids: Little Kickboxer.

Godfrey Ho's grasp of the English language is actually just fine. His grasp of believable dialog is what's not.
I'm up for joining Discord servers! PM me if you know any good ones!Fair enough. I have to say, though, Godfrey Ho raises goofy, hamfisted dialogue to an art form. It's impossible to so much as pay homage to his style without getting that completely spot on.
Oh, I heard of this movie. Basically, when the demand for Ninja movies dropped, Godfrey resorted to these Kickboxer movies, due to the success of the JCVD movie.
I wonder what kind of movies Godfrey (or someone else with the same "talents" as him) would be making today...
Given the climate of the world we live in today, I'd imagine we'd be seeing more shoot-'em-ups centered around government/Interpol agents in plainclothes who fight "terrorists".
Maybe even more superhero trash in the style of the Catman movies, but I wouldn't be too sure about that.

I might miss the preshow or be a bit late for the movie, but I'll be there.
TV Tropes's No. 1 bread themed lesbian. she/her, fae/faerWell, we got slightly more than the usual Godfrey Ho Ending. It didn't end the instant the hero won, but a couple minutes afterwards, suddenly abruptly. So it was still Godfrey Ho-esque.
