You picked out exactly which cover I wanted for Tales of the Black Widowers.
When it comes to the individual short stories, I was generally assuming a lack of images. If we do include images for those, I think I'd prefer the cover of a magazine it appeared in. Fanart is right out, as I think it is automatically inaccurate.
Thanks for finding the cover for Tell Me a Story: Science Fiction One, too.
Another correction: the image for "Northwestward" should be on The Further Adventures of Batman.

Link to TRS threads in project mode here.Moved Northwestward/Batman image. I can remove some of the short story ones, then? Since they're mostly Ellison Queen covers.
OH MY GOD; MY PARENTS ARE GARDENIIIIINNNNGGGGG!!!!!I'm not really planning on doing work pages for the individual EQMM volumes, which is where I'd want those cover pages. The issues where Asimov's name is on the cover page I definitely like. The issues where the story shows up but doesn't mention Asimov on the cover is a bit meh, but it's better than not having an image.
The current image for "Insert Knob A in Hole B", for example, doesn't show any indication it's actually related to the story. Ideally, we'd be able to get a still where Dr Asimov was reading the story from the Science Show.
This discussion has gotten me on an Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine kick. That page has jumped up the queue. Should it feature the first magazine cover, or the first cover without the apostrophe? Those are the two images I'm thinking of right now.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.both? both is good.
OH MY GOD; MY PARENTS ARE GARDENIIIIINNNNGGGGG!!!!!Well, I think I found all the issues where the Black Widowers appeared in EQMM, so I tossed that up and indexed the page. I'm still technically behind by a page. Fun Fact: EQMM have Australia and British specific volumes, which are organized slightly differently from the American issues. That nearly drove me nuts as I was finding conflicting information on which volume which story appeared in.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here. And now you have documented all the differences to make it easier for everyone else!
OH MY GOD; MY PARENTS ARE GARDENIIIIINNNNGGGGG!!!!!I'm very impressed with CS for writing these posts. I don't know much about Dr. Asimov, sadly, but I'm learning much just by reading these articles! Keep it up! It's awesome!
Say hello to my wife, everyone!
I did enough to index Asimov and left reasons for other works to be done. It could be better, but I'll leave that up for someone with a larger collection than I have.
Okay, so the Monday and Tuesday updates complete the stories from Tales of the Black Widowers, representing the first complete collection in this project. Yesterday's update was Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine, so I'm still a page behind where I should be. I'm gonna have to get creative so that I can catch up to where I should be.
Oh, and for the record, I don't have a copy of More Tales Of The Black Widowers, so it won't be my next project.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.Sorry about the Schedule Slip; having trouble concentrating some days. Nobody is getting on my case about it either. *glares at ~Xtifr and points to the 25 April entry* First nonfiction work uploaded.
- of April: Asimov's Book of Facts
- of April: The Worlds Of Science Fiction
- of April: Science Fiction Hall of Fame: Volume One
- of April: "True Love"
- of April: Robot Series (Cheat day! The existing list was very lackluster, and while I was digging into the number of qualifying works, there were dozens of novels authorized by Dr Asimov or his estate!)
- of April: Casebook of the Black Widowers
So, ~lakingsif, can you find a UK cover for Facts and the original cover for Casebook? The other books seem to have only one cover, so that should be easy.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.~crazysamaritan OK, I have found perhaps 100 different Facts covers, not sure which are UK, and is this◊ the Casebook cover you were after?

OH MY GOD; MY PARENTS ARE GARDENIIIIINNNNGGGGG!!!!!Nah, that was the Fawcett Crest version, from 1981. Doubleday made this cover◊ in 1980.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.So close.
OH MY GOD; MY PARENTS ARE GARDENIIIIINNNNGGGGG!!!!!I'm about 300 characters short of my goal for "Rejection Slips"!
I've been trying to work on thirty different pages, hopefully going to toss the whole month's worth up during Memorial Day weekend. But I'm stalling on that poem.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.Could you throw what you have up on here, and if I can find the poem on the internet I might be able to help
OH MY GOD; MY PARENTS ARE GARDENIIIIINNNNGGGGG!!!!!You could add an entry on Affectionate Parody, and say that it's possibly subverted or supposed to be a Stealth Insult Take That! because Asimov hated rejection slips in general and also didn't like the kind ones that obfuscated the message. The progression of the three letters show how no matter an editor approaches their rejection, Asimov will still not like it (too aloof, too rude, too confusing). Perhaps you could include his quote: "Rejection slips, or form letters, however tactfully phrased, are lacerations of the soul, if not quite inventions of the devil — but there is no way around them."
OH MY GOD; MY PARENTS ARE GARDENIIIIINNNNGGGGG!!!!!I think you mean Pastiche (Satire/Parody/Pastiche).
I'm fairly certain no author likes rejection letters. That's why I included the background information in the description.
The quote looks perfect for a header! Where is it from? My Complete Series doesn't have the annotations that I love.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.I'm really not sure, obviously, how tongue in cheek the whole thing is supposed to be, but at least it's very funny.
I don't know where the quote is from, nor will google tell me. I know of it from a collection of quotes about writing.
OH MY GOD; MY PARENTS ARE GARDENIIIIINNNNGGGGG!!!!!Hot diggity!
That quote, combined with the attribution, pushes me over my minimum character count. Thanks for recalling that bit of trivia. Fun Fact: it's from one of his editorial essays and he uses the same name as the poem. Similarly Named Works added to the trivia page.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.Cheers for teamwork!

Link to TRS threads in project mode here.Is the Asimov creator page getting long?
OH MY GOD; MY PARENTS ARE GARDENIIIIINNNNGGGGG!!!!!I haven't been doing much editing on that page because I plan on using it as a Cheat Day, so I'm expecting other tropers to join in with that.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.
I'm not too fond of the image I've found for "Insert Knob A in Hole B", but there aren't lots of options for it. A surprising lack of fan work, really. There's also this◊ as an option.
