Their are many orders in the Black Empire and they are the primary form of validation for aristocrats in general because the state itself gives them no benefits beyond the titles but the Knightly orders internalize and organise to get benifits beyond the 'common folk'.

Does your setting have a way of moving through your cosmology or are you stuck in your own dimension forever?

A nation of sylph managed to travel from Lina to Yula; but it resulted in massive changes to their biology that resulted in them becoming the skyling species. All humans that exist on Yula or (much more rarely) Lina are the result of demensional travel (with the other races possibly being decended from earlier cases).

How settled is your setting. Are vast untamed wildernesses dotted by pockets of civilization the norm or is there a wide network of settlements?

They exists. However, nations do not hire them as it is illegal. They are essentially hero for hire and will do anything as long as its legal, including cleaning houses or babysitting toddlers. Most of the time, they are private investigators with arms license who can defend themselves in case that they end up with combat situations.

Who is the youngest leader in a democratic nation?

Although the Kaiser is selected vire council and made to transition between men so they can give the impression their is and has always been just one Kaiser, states within the Empire are not uniform in organisation at all and many colonies have democracy. The youngest in the whole empire to be elected was the first Marshal of Evan which had been just conquered and the Emperor gave them the choice of their new Marshal(Military Governor)so they chose the young prince(Seven at the time) of the old king who they had largely abandoned.

if there any nation of your setting who use fantasy creature?

I have one yes. unfortunately I forgot its name and going thru all my old maps I didn't appear to have written it down. I know it had a V in but that's all I remember, so for now we'll call it Vasel.

the country of Vasel consists of the northern half of the continent its on and is in habituated by semi-nomadic Cat Folk race with 2 sets of ears (sort of) and a size of 3 to 4 feet tall. I say semi-nomadic because a majority of the population live in Behemoths, massive semi-organic creatures that function as moving cities the Cat Folk (whose names I've also forgotten) have a sort of symbiotic relationship with. the Behemoths roam in a fairly predictable pattern across the savannahs that make up most of Vasel. Behemoths don't look all that norm, or all that similar, save for their massive size, and relative hollowness inside.

outside the Behomoths, its not the only creature the people of Vasel use, as the north-eastern mountains of Vasel are fairly well-known for breeding Phoenixes. the breed them for the feather's they molt as they mature can be made into some of the most beautiful and the softest material in the world (the Cat Folk really like soft things), and for their eggs, of which the yokes can be used for curatives. it is even believed by some to restore ones own youth if made well enough, so they are quite coveted.

now, Question: are their any recent tragedies in your world? and how has the world handled it?

if there is a tragedy for the dakhory is what happen to the twilight lord

the twilight lord is one of the few old people(that mean a pre ancestor of the elves) and that help their people, after all that happen, he just sucumb to a deep dream, asvarius his personal slave become his voice and is the factor leader of the dakhory, with everyone who knew about them

this of course create the dakhory, who workship the twilight lord in a kim jung un way(in fact almost all elves workship their ancient leader, is part of them to do it)

World #1: Clock Punk ships, with propellers driven by mainsprings and the crew. Some have a large socket on the outside, to be rewound at docks by machines. Some even have a metal hull and basic autopilot.

World #2: Living ships, though living more like a plant than an animal. They regenerate when damaged, and can grow food and filter water for drinking.

What is the place located at the center of your world map?

QuestionMarker Since: Jan, 2011
#488: Aug 12th 2014 at 11:54:51 AM

So first off, I’ve just started building this world, and as I’m terrible at naming things, most of the places don’t have names yet. That said, the world has several continents but one is much larger than the others, with a massive mountainous area in the middle (think central Asia/Himalaya Up To Eleven). The nations located here are among the most advanced, mostly because they’re the only ones that have already entered the industrial age (due to an abundance of minerals and coal, as well as plot-related reasons). Their economic influence also extends over a lot of the lowlanders as well, and the highlanders tend to look down on them and dismiss them as lesser cultures. Due to this economic and cultural superiority, mapmakers tend to put the largest continent in the middle.

Q: Does your world have mass media? If so, who controls them, and do they play a role in politics? If not, how does news get around?

there two main from of information in the dakhory empire, the first one is the shadow voice, is a system uses in ships so they can comunicate but is risky for them because it let the user to know how they feel

the other one is a type of crow they use, they carry little red pearls who manage to pass thought into each other, they serve well to mass things

question: is there magic or any type of phlebotonium, how religions deal with it?

There is indeed magic. Religions don't much care; however, human mages become very ill upon using their powers, ranging from coughing fits to vomiting and fainting. The god of the setting bestowed the knowledge of gunsmithing on mankind for this reason.

[up][up]Magic was introduced to the world when godlike arcane beings had children with the humans there. Due to the magic-using half-human hybrids having great power, there's a faction of such half-human beings who get part of the population to worship them as gods.

[up]They send the dead bodies to the "Underworld" to dispose of them and "reunite their soul with the planet". The Underworld being the natural surface world under the setting's elevated cities (The "Overworld"). Most people living in the cities don't go down there as it's a Death World.

Among the Imperial Signetories, there is very little fantastic racism-mostly because people who voice such opinions are publicly flogged. Among the dragons, fire dragons are seen as hotheaded and foolish, Water dragons as fickle and tempermental, Earth dragons as shiftless and lazy, Air dragons as "durpy" or stupid, Necro dragons as skulking cannibals, and Chaos dragons roughly equivalent to The Stoner for their philosophical bent. Both groups hate each other more than they do themselves. Among the alien races, the Vulpitorex and Dysonians get along fine, but the Klandi are highly territorial, and violently express their desire to be left very much alone. Carrion and swarm are considered dangerous vermin, despite the fact that they're demonstratably sentient-their parasitic tendencies only reinforce the stereotype. As for Abominations, nobody can figure them out, but they are so fugly nobody wants to try much.

One of my six races is very religious. The main Aurian religion is the Disciples of Eanus. Eanus lived about 1600 years ago, and taught that God would condemn all evildoers in the afterlife, and that by following the Four Virtues, He would spare you. The virtues are: Honor, Power, Courage, and Truth. His life and teachings are written in the Eandor. Today, (3832 A.D.) about half of all Aurian citizens are Disciples.

The Southern Theocracy: the fire god, their leader, of course. its through his accounts that anything was known of the early history of man.

Eastern Empire: the High Empress, who founded the empire and continues to guide it millenia later. she is responsible for many major changes in the upper workings of the country and she herself makes sure that anyone who ascends to Emperor meets her specific requirements, and as the High Empress it's her job to depose any emperor who fails to live up to those standards.

Northern Republic: their god-emperor, currently nameless, who died of a plague before the civ barrier went down. his death came after numerous declarations of his immortality (a mistake the fire god has never made) and as a result, it caused massive upheaval in the empire's power structure and eventually lead to their transition into a republic. its because of him the republic spends a good portion of their history behind in technology compared to their rival barrier civs, and the reason for their animosity towards the southern republic.

[up][up] The single most historical figure in my world is Saint Gunter (basically, a Composite Character of Saint George, and Paul Revere). Saint Gunter, for which the Gun is named, came from a small township in the Human Kingdom, from which he wandered far and wide. He was a very devout man, and often made his way to the very top of the local mountain to pray. One day, after his prayers, he came down the mountain. He went unto the smith, and fashioned a steel tube. Going next unto the carpenter, he fashioned a handle and joined the two. Then he went unto the chymist and mixed the Powder. None dared bar his way, for his grim set and hard eyes frightened deeply all who looked upon him. He stood in the town square and cried, in a loud voice; "A dragon approaches! Gird your homes and hide your children!" Some who heard his warning scoffed. "Surely old Gunter has gone mad". Some who heard him feared mightily, and did as was bid. Others would stand by him, and ask'd him teach them to fashion the weapon he wielded. When the dragon came unto the town, it was mightily vexed by the many stings that pierced it's hide. The dragon breathed it's fire, and set the town ablaze. Those who scoffed were killed. Those who listened were spared. And those who stood with the saint were unbowed.

[up] Most plants are roughly the same as earth ones. However, the ones that stand out the most are Ghoul Trees. Ghoul Trees resemble twisted, wizened oaks with peeling, black, paper-like bark, and produce a sickly, stunted peach-like fruit. The fruit tastes like fresh blood (kind of like when you get a nosebleed, but cool instead of warm), and the juice stains a vibrant crimson. Most Imperials besides ghouls prefer to use the fruit as a dye, rather than a foodstuff. The result of necromantic tainting of an apple tree.

Walden the White God came to the hill, where, for our sake, His blood was spilled. The Djanvasi did our God betray, and so we must kill them till the Final Day.

'Tis a nursery rhyme from the kingdom of Alabinher, which is locked in an endless series of wars with the kingdom of Djanvas. The rhyme recounts how their god Walden was mortally wounded in a battle with the Djanvasi god Tyranok, forcing Him to withdraw to the White Realm.

in arathor, the ideal girl is the tipical fairy tail girl who dress well and looks pretty all the time

the dakhory(think dark elves with biopunk) in the other hand, treat the nobility like a tipical hollywood star, they most be gorgous everytime and have a good shape, meaning they most look good in all location...of course many familis and nobles make a look and stick with it

¿if there any cultural tradition in your setting that can be considered values dissonace here in our world?

Slavery is a thriving business in the Arthurian Empire, with slaves being sold on the open market and found in nearly every household that can afford them. Slaves are captured from all over the Empire and beyond, and convicted criminal and prisoners of war are often sold into slavery. Slaves with considerable fighting abilities are often made to fight in gladiatorial combat in amphitheatres across the empire, and the Imperial Army has several battalions consisting entirely of slave soldiers, which are often barred from piloting Excalibur units. Slaves are ineligible for a magic license, and any slave caught performing magic is executed without trial. Races commonly taken as slaves include elves, orcs, ogres, minotaurs and catfolk.

Ghouls, since they're 1)supremely ugly and 2)long-lived but few in number. Basically, they're half-undead so they're discriminated against (on the sly, lest the Legbreakers get called in-outright posting "Ghouls Need Not Apply" on a "Help Wanted" poster is a major no-no, but telling them that the position is filled already weather or not it has isn't) and have little population to vote their standing up.

Altzanland is in a state of pandemonium* as the Crisp Craze sweeps the civilized parts of the nation. It all started when a Necratian immigrant living in Altzanland opened a company dedicated to making potato products for customers. He invented a way of making thin slices of potatoes dry and crispy without any need for arc. Thus, the crisp was born and Waymark Potato Company became a major company. People couldn't get enough of the crisp, especially when seasoned to give them a variety of flavors to choose from. The religious right were not so enthusiastic, believing that crisps would lead to slothful and indecent behavior that would leave the nation vulnerable to the godless Vostrovian menace, even though Vostrovia was under the spell of cola and malt shakes at the time. Churchgoers woudl go so far as to dump large quantities of crisps onto the grounds outside of churches and stomp on them until the crisps were a fine dust. This later backfired when it accidentally spawned a new dance craze called the Crispy Stomp.

  • The word "pandemonium" came from an incident a few years back when a vengeful nature spirit took the form of a massive panda and rampaged through the city of Descony.
