Mundus, the Final Boss of the first DMC.
Captain Gordon Defender of Earth from Disgaea Afternoon Of Darkness.
There's something... satisfying about beating the living fuck out of that guy.
Some of my favorites of this console Gen are are Jubileus, The Black Baron, Story Mode Nu and Mu, and finally, probably my favorite fight of this console gen EVER, is this:
This blew my mind away the first time fighting this guy and it still does.

Watch SymphogearCastlevania III's Death.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.My favorite ones are:
- Nelo Angelo - DMC 1
- Final Boss Vergil - DMC 3
- Final Boss Sanctus - DMC 4
- Galamoth - Castlevania SOTN
Mysterio from Spider Man 2.
Classic.
One of my few regrets about being born female is the inability to grow a handlebar mustache. -LandstanderI absolutely love the Galactic Emperor fight; namely because it is difficult if you don't fall back on Drill Robot or Samurai Shogun for the fight. Making it the only difficult battle in the entire game.
Oh, and the battlefield is the surface of Earth, with your toy robot battle borgs able to jump over entire continents. And instead of picking a single ally for the fight, ALL of the allies until that point team up with you to bring the Galactic Emperor down.
Julius Belmont from Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow. The usual Infinity +1 Sword barely works on him, he's an extremely mobile target, and he's capable of as many tricks as you are. Also, the Turns Red moment where he turns into a freaking gravity well is boss.
They assed first. I am only retaliating in an ass way. -The Dead Man's LifePretty much every boss fight in Kingdom Hearts 2, but especially the Groundshaker and all of the final battle.
Likes many underrated webcomicsDracula and Death from Castlevania Portrait Of Ruin. Who would have guessed that you'd ever eventually have to fight both of them, at the same time?!
I hope you get tiny bits of eggshell in all your omelettes for the rest of your life!End boss of Sonic Colors Wii for its perfect atmosphere and controls that didn't completely suck. I was genuinely having fun with a Sonic game the entire time. Even during the last fight.
If someone wants to accuse us of eating coconut shells, then that's their business. We know what we're doing. - Achaan ChahThe Nettori from Metroid Fusion. Unlike most of the other bosses, it just stays in one place and doesn't even actively attack you for its first phase, and the creepy music just makes it better. Plus of course it isn't yet another giant monster thing.

Hmm, some of my favourites are...
- Bongo Bongo (Ocarina of Time.) There's something I find hilarious and yet frightening about this boss, fighting him on a giant drum, and he keeps playing during the fight.
- The Mad Hatter. (The Adventures of Batman and Robin - Genesis/Mega Drive version.) The game itself isn't fantastic, but the bosses are very grandiose and epic. Quite a few I liked, but the mindbending battle against the Mad Hatter is amazing.
- Seven Force (Gunstar Heroes.) One of the purest representations of old-school boss battles, a boss with seven different forms.
- The Statue of Liberty. (Samurai Zombie Nation) Seriously, one boss is the Statue of Liberty. It's awesome in its insanity.

Don't take life too seriously. It's only a temporary situation.Almost every boss from Okami, but I'll list my three favorites from that game.
Lechku and Nechku: You and Oki versus two mechanical demonic owls. The concept in itself is awesome, but the execution is even better. The owls pull several attacks ripped from previous enemies, meaning you have to know how to counter those attacks (which is necessary to damage them). The best part is probably shooting Oki at the owls when one of them gets damaged enough. All in all, a great Final-Exam Boss (although the real final boss of the game is more of one - I'll get to him).
Orochi: Or rather, Orochi the first time you face him. You have to get him drunk and destroy the bell on his back, and then you have to get him drunk again to take out his heads. All this while the heads are chucking attacks at you and fire starts falling from the sky (in the latter half of the fight, at least). The Coup de Grâce Cutscene afterwards is just the icing on the cake. Epic boss the first time around.
Yami: An amazing final boss to end an amazing game. When you meet him, you get the powers sucked right out of you and have to beat them out of the boss, and the fight lets you know that you need every single one of them as you go through Yami's 5 forms. There's a tear-jerking hope spot right before the fifth form, during which you get powered up to your past self's level to beat the everloving crap out of the Emperor of Eternal Darkness (and you can thrash him in a few seconds if you know what you're doing). Couple that with his amazing musical themes and...well, just see my first sentence here.
I'm also going to mention Akuro's second form from Okamiden. It's not quite as fun as Yami, but it's an outright amazing boss in a game full of mediocre (the Witch Queen, for example) to horrible (Sen and Ryo) bosses. Think of the Ninetails fight from Okami and take it Up To Eleven, and you have Dark Chibiterasu. You have to be on the ball with your brush skills if you want a chance at damaging him, because he can cancel yours out and throw his own at you. That includes a dark version of Sunrise. It's a fast, intense battle with an absolutely amazing piece of music to go with it. Akuro may be a Generic Doomsday Villain who is essentially Dark Matter with Exdeath's personality, but he knows how to make a good boss fight.

Icon by Civvi the Civilian! The Penguin in Arkham City.
You would think that, of all Batman's villains, Penguin would be one of the easiest for him to stop. Not true. Everything he does up to the actual fight is pure cruelty and depravity, and when it comes time to take him down, he pulls out all the stops.
I've got two guns pointed west and a broken compass.Yoshitaka Mine from Yakuza 3. Heck, Anderson and his CIA buddies are a fantastic setup, to finish the fight against Mine in the rooftop, and then an incredibly Bad Ass ending sequence, is incredibly satisfying.
My absolutely undoubtedly positively favorite Final Boss ever is Evans from Breath Of Fire 2. It is amazing and I've already stated why plenty of times.
Also, Pixy from Ace Combat Zero was pretty awesome, too. Way better than The Gray Men in Ace Combat 5

Jeane from Bayonetta. All of the encounters with her are fast, brutal, energetic, and tend to occur during things like tornadoes, exploding cities or perfectly nondescript rooms where you just happen to have the ability to walk on the walls. And unlike, say, Genshin, the fights are pretty fair and fun. Wish more rival characters took some of her cues.
Oh, and Psycho Mantis of course.

General Guy from Paper Mario. i even have a file saved just before him so I can fight him whenever I want. ^^

The Protomen enhanced my life.General Guy is pretty good. I will give him that.
Let's see... some of my favorite bosses...
- Miracle Matter and O2, collectively, from Kirby 64. Their amazing music helps, but Miracle Matter gets points because I still have trouble with him sometimes. But Miracle Matter is just a cool concept for a boss, and he's a lot of fun to fight. All his different forms just make him awesome. And O2 is a epic finisher, with music that... Oh man, I could wax rapturous about that music.
- Nightmare from Metroid Fusion. It's a hard boss, and a frustrating one, too. But I like it because everything about it seems scientifically designed to creep you out. First, there's the oddly soothing and calm boss battle music. Then, there's the fact that his power renders your missiles—your usual first line of offense—totally useless, which leaves you feeling quite helpless. And finally? His face. Oh god, that face. Still sends a shiver up my spine. His 3-D version in Other M was fun to fight, but his face just couldn't match the creepiness of his original (?) appearance.
- Speaking of Primes... Chykka is a boss that makes you feel epic for beating. And I approve of that.
- Mr. Patch from Banjo-Tooie. Yeah, he's rather hard, and part of that is the game's fault. But he's the only boss you fight in the air, and that just makes him feel epic. He's absolutely gigantic, bigger than you by probably a hundredfold, and you get to fly around the air in first person and bombard him with grenades and SO COOL.
- Ameno-Sagiri from Persona 4. A lot of my love for him has to do with the way me and my gameplay buddy beat him, admittedly. Just the MC and Yosuke, broin' each other on after their party members fell, sometimes guarding and sometimes healing, slowly whittling him away... it was epic. It also helps that said boss has a sweet design and good storyline significance.
By no means complete, but I'll think of more later.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaOff the top of my head:
- Demons Souls:
- Tower Knight: He wasn't particularly hard, but damn that fight felt epic. You against an armoured giant wielding a giant lance with a huge shield, and you have no outside help, it's just you and your equipment against a giant of iron. He's also one of the earliest boss fight.
- Storm King: Same as above. Especially awesome if you're a melee character: "What, I have to kill all these flying mantis and then the flying daddy? How am I supposed to do that! Oh hey, what's that sword doing here...HOLY SHIT THIS IS SO COOL!"
- Dark Souls:
- Ornstein and Smough: But only if you kill Smough first. Then, it becomes a fight between you, and a giant lighting-wielding dragonslayer which is just as fast as when he was small. And the music is just so great! I swear, it's worth dying against these guys just to hear it again.
Probably got some more, but these are the most recent I can remember.

Who's an angry moth? You are! Yes you are! You're the fuzziest and angriest moth! Original pic.Love fighting Molgera. Is he hard? Nope. Is it a long fight? Nope. But the atmosphere and the music make him really memorable for me.

So. Let's all pause for a moment to smell what the Rock was, is, and forever will be... cooking.—Cave JohnsonToo many to list, but the first one coming to mind is Gandrayda from Metroid Prime 3.
I just finished fighting the Draug in The Witcher 2. I love his Large Ham voice and awesome design.

Instead, I have learned a horrible truth of existence...some stories have no meaning.
(I really did search, didnt found anything like this... I hope the very first post dosnt shows than I am on the wrong because I hate when that happens).
I think the title is pretty self explanatory, its about those boss fights than are your favorites for any particular reason!
Mine as of lately is Borderlands´s Crawmerax (Solo, non siren, no overpowered/modded weapons I think either). I LOVED this boss, fighting this thing felt so... different from anything else on the game. Like, Borderlands is, for 95% of the time, a rather easy game, so I was quite suprised to see a boss than actually managed to kill me about 50 times, it was frustranting, also his minions as well (I also count the elevator as another enemy, FUCK THAT ELEVATOR, takes 30 secs to get all the way up!). Now, Althougt I loved this boss fight, there were some cheap moves on it, the most prominent example is an unavoidable attack than the boss does, its a range attack and it attacks ALL the area except if you just happen to be behind a rock that counts as cover... but it fetl SO good when I killed it. I know than its actually fairly easy if you are 4 and have superb weapons, but thats not the point, for me, this guy is One of the hardest bosses I have ever fought, has NOTHING on the general difficulty of the game, its a MASSIVE difficulty spike. (In case you havent guessed, I love challenges in my games )
I Hope Borderlans 2 has more bosses like him.
Oh well. I guess its ya turn to tell us about your favorite bossses :D
EDIT 2: Just to avoid any kind of confusion, this is NOT a thread about the hardest bosses or anything, that would be the "That one boss/level" thread. This is about any boss than you like for any kind of reason, it just happens than my reason is that, as I said, I love challenges so of course I am gonna gush about hard bosses for most of the time, XD
