The Synchtube Tropers are getting a crowd together this Christmas Eve to watch The Star Wars Holiday Special, which will be starting very shortly...
Reading - "Where the Devil Drives" by Chris Brookmyre, after binge-reading Jim Butcher's "Codex Alera" books. Six books in about five days - not bad going for me.
Playing - not sure yet. Mibbies some Guild Wars 2.
Watching - most def the Christmas special edition of Doctor Who, later on today.
Delivering - Christmas cards.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all.
The Synchtube Tropers are getting a crowd together to check out Robo-C.H.I.C. very shortly.
In the meantime, we're watching old Marvel Comics cartoons from the 1960's.
Reading: Wolf In White Van by John Darnielle. A fiction novel by the Mountain Goats' singer. I'm enjoying it so far - It kind of makes sense that he'd be a good novelist because so many Mountain Goats songs feel like short stories.
Watching: Black Mirror. I've just started on this... Well, sorta - I watched the first episode a month ago, and was intrigued but got distracted by other stuff. Point is, I've only watched the episodes "The National Anthem" and "15 Million Merits" so far. The trope page calls it "didactic", which it is, but I don't really mind if a work has an explicit message if it's well done and if it doesn't detract from other elements of the story.
Playing: South Park: The Stick of Truth. I don't think I've played anything featuring Turn-Based Combat since Final Fantasy VII, so that aspect is strangely nostalgic for me. It's also pretty funny so far.
Listening to: Fleetwood Mac - Rumours.
About to play: Guild Wars 2.
Reading: Please Don't Tell My Parents I'm A Supervillain, by Richard Roberts, and All Fun And Games Until Somebody Loses An Eye, by Chris Brookmyre.
Having finished my magazines, I started reading the book Gates of Fire.
I like to keep my audience riveted. The Stephen Pressfield book on the 300 Spartans?
Reading: Shooting War by Anthony Lappe and Dan Goldman. Lockheed Martin of all people running a news organisation?
Playing: Need for Speed Rivals. Up to the final storyline events of both cop and racer careers.
Listening to: Craig Hardgrove's remixes of the Marathon soundtrack.

I have disagreed with her a lot, but comparing her to republicans and propagandists of dictatorships is really low. - An idiotWatching: Kim Possible
I do like how it deconstructs Mary Sue and The Ace and has all sorts of fun with it. The heroine is extremely believable despite the genre. And I also like how it points out the classism and elitism.
Well, that's aside of the superhero movie parodies I actually watch it for :)
If we disagree, that much, at least, we have in commonWatching:
- The Borgias (right this moment. I'm getting most of it incidentally from being in the same room as my mum watching).
- Legend of Korra Just finished the second season, moving on to the third and fourth.
Reading:
- The Dresden Files middway through no 11, Turn Coat.
Just finished watching Willow. Still not sure what to think. There were some aspects I liked, but some that I really didn't.
Finished reading Watchmen. Wow, it was really good and I did not expect that ending. It's so utterly complex, so I don't think I can fully wrap my head around every connection and detail within.
Life is hard, that's why no one survives. My anime-watching schedule was kinda delayed during the holidays, but anyway, I just finished B Gata H Kei. Less ecchi than the premise makes it sound, but definitely delivers in the comedy department. Seeing the main couple get some real romantic progress was nice, too. The animation was also solid, if not impressive. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes comedy and can take the (almost entirely raunchy, and frequently taboo) content.
Next up is Noir. Really not sure if I'm going to like this one, some reviews suggest that it's unnecessarily slow. However, I've already plowed through other dark/violent/serious animes (including Gunslinger Girl), so I think I can handle 26 episodes of whatever Noir turns out to be. (I also have Madlax and El Cazador queued up, and I intend to watch the three in release order, although probably with years between them.)
Join my forum game!Reading: The Sound Of Our Town, a book about music in Boston.
Watching: Futurama from the beginning. I may start watching the first season of Game Of Thrones while I'm at it, because 1) I want to pick up where I left off on the Song Of Ice And Fire books last year, and I feel like the first season is going to be faithful enough to the first book that it'll be a "refresher", and 2) Futurama episodes are only 22 minutes sans commercials, so I have time to juggle both. Update: I did decide to watch GOT too.
Playing: Batman Arkham City.

Reading: Tess Of The D Urbervilles for English class. I'm not a fan, but it's tolerable thus far, I guess?
Playing: Probably Tiny and Big for the umpteenth time, or Burnout Paradise. I've played the shit out of both of them but they're so good.
Watching: -shrug- Might pick up Breaking Bad again, I've still got a lot to go with it.
