This thread is for general discussion of page quotes, whether to change, move or remove them.
Unused quotes should be put on a Quotes Wiki page (just replace the namespace in the URL of the wiki page you are making a quotes page for with Quotes/) or, if they don't have an article, on Quotes Looking for an Article.
Image captions are discussed elsewhere and have their own thread in the Image Pickin' forum.

For the record, I got the meaning of the Double Take quote, but I still don't think it works well as a general representation.

@Xiftr: Actually, No Body Left Behind was at 3-2 (I cast my vote when it was first brought up). Now, with Duck's addition, it's at 3-3.
Oh, now I get it! Though I still think it's a bad quote.
Though I prefer the first quote in No Body Left Behind a little more, I wouldn't have a problem with the second one staying there instead.
"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."Re: No Body Left Behind. I realize I have no strong feelings about either of the quotes, so you may count my vote to neutral.
Re: Double Take. Well, I don't think the quote works well without the context of the work. I don't like the formatting to indicate translation <>. If that's standard notation, well, then pardon my ignorance. However, moving to q-tab is probably OK. I was too bloodthirsty before.

The <> are technically part of the quote from the comic. I don't think they're really necessary for the page quote, though, so if they're leading to confusion we could just delete them. Something like this?
Erika: She likes your cell phone.
Meimi: (in Japanese) Yuki's was eaten by her pet zombie zilla.
Erika: Yuki's was eaten by her pet "zombie zilla". Wait, her what?

The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableI think it may be trying (and failing) to represent «guillemet» marks (also known as "french quotes").
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.I think they're just used as a type of brackets to show a different type of communication. Seen a lot of it in fanfics and webcomics. Parentheses are often used for thoughts, for instance. Or someone Stage Whispering to himself.
Check out my fanfiction!Guess we'll be keeping the second No Body Left Behind quote, right?
Digging Yourself Deeper has a stupidly long quote. There's a very short Red Dead Redemption quote in the subpage that I think gets the point across.

"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."Style guides (as used by actual professional writers) often recommend guillemets to indicate that a character is actually speaking in a foreign language. Which is why I think that in this case, the writer probably intended to use guillemets, but simply didn't know how. :)
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee. They are both good, but I like the first one. The second is more straight up since that example needs no intervention on part of the creature (the Garo's need to set themselves aflame or blow themselves up when they know they are going to die while the bug just disintegrates no matter what).

Don't make me destroy you. @ Castle SeriesThe Red Dead Redemption quote is little more than a restatement of the trope name. I wouldn't be opposed to swapping the current page quote with the Web Mage quote, though.
I have seen chevrons used as a sort of poor-man's guillemet frequently. It's not something that author came up with.
I have a suggestion from Schlock Mercenary...
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableI'm for keeping the Digging Yourself Deeper one. It's effective because of its length. Neither of the ones on the quote page demonstrate the trope, they're just commentary on a particular use.
Also, the Order Of The Stick quote for Blind Seer is lousy; it just happens to mention the a blind seer in the context of an entirely unrelated joke.
We're not just men of science, we're men of TROPE!Not Even Human's quote, while funny, isn't really relevant.
Agree to cut.
Ditch the Not Even Human quote.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanMoved No Body Left Behind.
My take on Digging Yourself Deeper: tl;dr. Quotes should be brief and witty I think.
Not Even Human: Off with it. tl;dr
(Re: French brackets: I would have never realized that this < > stands for this « ». In my native language, they are used as such: »quote«, and are obsolete.)
edit: Blind Seer: No strong opinion. Could stay, could go, I don't particularly care. But quotes in its q-tab are not any better.

Not Even Human: Kill it.
Blind Seer: I'm neutral. The other quotes are not much better.
Offscreen Moment of Awesome has two quotes. I don't like either, but the quote tab has one I really like:
->"And so our heroes defeat the muffin in an exciting battle, which we can't show you because it would be much too expensive for a cheap show like this." —>— Narrator, Dave the Barbarian
"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."Support the swap for Offscreen Moment of Awesome. That's really a good one.
And I axed the Not Even Human quote.
Edit: Swapped Offscreen Moment of Awesome.

Also agree with the swap.
Do we really need the expansion at the bottom, since it's already covered thoroughly in the intro?
The quote on the page is fine. I'd also keep the rest of the explanation.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI'd say that yes, it seems kind of redundant to have nearly the same quote at the top and at the bottom of the page. But I don't mind it.
Beach Episode has a mediocre quote from Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt, but I much prefer the Sequential Art one from the quotes page. Anyone else?
Crown Description:
What should be the page quote for Monster.Fan Works?
The meaning of those is to show it's in a different language, but that's kind of irrelevant for the actual trope.
