This thread is for general discussion of page quotes, whether to change, move or remove them.
Unused quotes should be put on a Quotes Wiki page (just replace the namespace in the URL of the wiki page you are making a quotes page for with Quotes/) or, if they don't have an article, on Quotes Looking For An Article.
Image captions are discussed elsewhere and have their own thread in the Image Pickin' forum.

Please, people, if you remove a page quote, move it to the Quotes page (or make a Quotes page if it doesn't already have one!) unless the reason it's removed is that it doesn't really apply to the trope. Don't just remove it and leave it to get lost in the edit history

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.The shortest version does the job, I think.
Eep, sorry.
Sex, Drugs, and Rock & Roll has two quotes. I think the first is the stronger one, personally.
My troper wallI prefer the first one on Sex, Drugs, and Rock & Roll as well.

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Sex, Drugs, and Rock & Roll: First quote is better.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanEnemy Eats Your Lunch has a new quote which I don't like. (I don't get it, actually.) There are three better on the Quotes.Enemy Eats Your Lunch. I probably prefer this one:
Grff: The best tasting food is stolen from the mouths of the enemy. (World of Warcraft, "War Forage")
I feel that the last quote on the quotes tab is actually the most pertinent.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI think the Warcraft one is snappier and gets the point across. The Cracked quote is more an analysis of why the trope works, which isn't really what a page quote is for.

What's the current ratio of Warcraft vs Cracked quotes?
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry PratchettWarcraft quote is simpler and gets the job done in less.
Please Put Some Clothes On has a really long dialog quote. The first one on the quotes page will suffice.

Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed.Should I go ahead and move the second quote on Sex, Drugs, and Rock & Roll to the quotes page?
My troper wallYes.
Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed.@2585: The first one in the Quotes tab for Please Put Some Clothes On is much clearer and more concise than the current
Any of them on the quotes tab for Please Put Some Clothes On would be clearer and more concise than the current one. I like the first one, but I also like the Spiderman one, the Mystery Men one, and the Sherlock one.

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.- Enemy Eats Your Lunch: I'll swap the current with WoW. It has three votes against one.
- Please Put Some Clothes On: I'm all for quote change. I like the first one with hockey players and the Sherlock one.
Enforced Method Acting just had a quote added. It's quite long, and honestly doesn't seem to fit since it doesn't say anything about the "not telling the cast beforehand" part, which is, you know, the entire point of the page.
Plus, the page sort of has two "quotes" in the form of definitions for Method Acting and Enforced Method acting.
Anyway, I think we should pull the new quote.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.I took out the Cracked quote since it wasn't about the trope at all. I also reformatted the definitions to not look like quotes, They're actually the thesis statement of the page. Now to finish cleaning up the examples of those that aren't "enforced" ( the actor chooses to do it themselves) or aren't "acting" (it's not being done to an actor — all the edxamples about scaring the audience or the patrons of a ride.)
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.I generally think when an article opens with a definition, it looks rather awkward to put a quote in on top of it.
Does it look better the way I changed it?
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.I didn't see what it looked like before, but looks fine now
I feel like this quote https://twitter.com/mcmoynihan/status/438053976794083328 would be the perfect page quote for Smart People Speak the Queen's English. What do y'all think?

Not the whole thing — we don't need the last sentence — it creeps uncomfortably close to bashing. But just part of it, maybe:
"...Morgan was the beneficiary of a curious American habit. We assign 20 extra I.Q points to anyone who speaks with a British accent ... This way lies madness."

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Primal Scene has two page quotes and while I'm not sure about the second one, I'm sure the first one has to go, since it's more about two people having sex than a child finding them having sex.
However I'd rather get discussion about both before acting.
My troper wallPrimal Scene: The first one needs to be removed, and not put on the Quotes page unless there are lines after it that can be added to make it about the trope. The second one is ok, but needs to lose the potholes. There's probably a better one out there somewhere, though.
Ah, there is, in the examples, from ''Scrubs: "My emotional journey began at 5 years old when I walked in on my parents having sex in a position my father would later playfully describe as "the jackhammer." "

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.
Crown Description:
What should be the page quote for Monster.Fan Works?
In that case, wouldn't it be better to leave the second one as the page quote and move the first one into the description text?
