Yeah, it was very mind-f***ing. I'd have to ask him to describe it again if I wanted to give any more quirks, and even then, given how wacky he was, I don't think they would be the same.

There's an explanation for why mutated monsters almost always attack humans in my Awful Movieverse: Humans emit a series of pheromones that mutated predators find very enticing, and since only humans give them off, that makes them prime targets.

Computer displays take the form of flexible, schemochromic screens derived from mutated flower petals. This means that most workstations are sunlit throughout the day to cut the need for backlighting, increasing power efficiency (though they kinda suck on the refresh rate). Really old systems use mechanical reflectors or primitive CRTs.

The only sapient alien species that humanity has made direct contact with are the Mechanids. While humanity and transhumanity were expanding through Occupied Space, the Mechanids were advancing at an exponential rate thanks to a Precursor mesh network they have learned to piggyback off of. By the time humanity made contact with them, they had uploaded onto the mesh network and had only sent a few von Neumann probes out to explore the stars.

Instead of parallel universes, every unrealized outcome of every choice ever made in all of time are all played out on the "other side of time." Here, there are alternates (neverweres) of Hitler as a decent artist, Nikola Tesla is a perfectly sane yet ordinary man, and Michael Bay is a talented director. The kicker is that all these scenarios are playing out in the same "world."

I think I took a cue from TTGL.

In that Awesomeness Is a Force— the more awesome you are, the more you can make physics weep and crumple like a tin can.

Oh, and there are occasionally humans who are awesome enough to hold their own against an Arokryyn. Yes, otherwise-normal humans that can match a member of ultra-powerful, super-tough, mechanoids with incredible reflexes.

Such is the way of Awesome.

This comes from my nation in Nation States, New Pyrrhius. Since the Occupied Space canon extends well beyond NS, I feel this is still applicable. For context, this was from a thread on race riots.

While we have never suffered from any race riots, there have been riots caused by races. AG racing is very popular in New Pyrrhius, with 21 official tracks in our territories. The de facto representative of New Pyrrhius in the largest AG racing league is Orban Gunsmithing, with some of the most durable ships in the league. Unfortunately, the high structural integrity leaves its pilot in peril. The joke going around is that all Orban has to do to repair a ship after being eliminated is hose off the goo that was its previous pilot and get a new one. This put them at odds with Ascension Industries who put the pilot's safety above all else, but especially Kaos Armaments who specialize in cheap and disposable craft designed to destroy contenders before they can retaliate.

This rivalry reached its height during the championship of 4524, when numerous teams reported complications in their ships. This included Orban Gunsmithing, which was experiencing erratic airfoil deployment. Two ships had to withdraw early in the race from electrical malfunctions of alarming similarity. When the problems were examined in detail, engineers found telltale signs of sabotage. Fingers were immediately pointed at Kaos, the quintessential "bad boy" of the league. However, Kaos Armaments was experiencing technical issues as well with their shields. Pit crews got into fistfights as teams put blame on their rivals, only for the rivals to withdraw due to complications. Only Orban Gunsmithing stood out of the pit violence and focused on keeping their ailing ship in play. To this day, nobody knows who sabotaged what seemed to be every ship in the race.

In total, nearly half of the teams withdrew in order to keep their pilots, and their reputations, out of great danger. Out of those remaining, only a few were still in operation by the final stretch. Among those few were Orban Gunsmithing and Kaos Armaments. Kaos was in the lead while Orban was miraculously catching up after having one of its ammo drums detonated by Kaos. The Kaos ship bit one of its turns and the Orban ship made its move. It used what remained of its ammo stores to knock out the engines of Kaos, then it rammed Kaos until they locked hulls. It was at that point that Orban activated its Berserker Charge, a weapon that projected a shield around the craft and launched it forward at high speeds. It was rarely used because of its habit of knocking out its pilot from the acceleration, but there was no blackout when the move tore the Kaos ship to shreds and secured Orban's victory. Or so it seemed.

The judges claimed that Orban was disqualified due to foul play, while Kaos Armaments was the winner despite being eliminated with extreme prejudice. This decision caused immediate backlash from league authorities themselves as many openly resigned on the spot. Those that resigned also released documents that revealed that Kaos Armaments had prominent members of the league in their pockets, including every judge overseeing the championship. This was revealed within an hour of the original decision. Immediately, furious AG racing fans took to the streets and attacked property belonging to both the AG Racing League and Kaos Armaments. Authorities, many of whom openly sympathized with the rioters, did very little to contain this sudden outburst. In total, hundreds of billions of credits in property damage and hundreds of deaths were reported. The disgrace of the incident and the resulting damages from the riots and legal cases caused the league to collapse.

Kaos Armaments, with an already long reputation of shameless and downright morally bankrupt behavior, was about to undergo an official investigation by New Pyrrhius until the beginning of the Great Pyrrhic War interrupted the preparation for the investigation. Meanwhile, Kaos Armaments underwent a complete hostile takeover at the hands of Morokoth, resulting in a cessation of legal claims as focus was shifted to outright military action. Today, Kaos Armaments has regained control of its company while the AG Racing League has been rebuilt by those who originally resigned or were otherwise caught in the crossfire from the scandals. It is too early to tell if the new AG Racing League can rise out of the ashes or if it will be bogged down by the same bureaucracy and corruption as its progenitor.

While there are some Starfish Alien like beings in the setting, the closet thing to an Eldritch Abomination is a dragon of any gender that has lived long enough, causing their form to change to one that induces madness. This does not apply to a female dragon that has become a Queen Dragon.

Psychic Powers draw energy from the surrounding universe to function, creating something of a radiant entropy field. This field has a negligible effect of its surroundings, but a large number of devices can detect and even pinpoint these fields, with more powerful powers generating larger fields. The entire point of Cryokinesis is manipulating this field to one's advantage. This makes Cryos and their abilities difficult to detect.

at request of the goddess of time, the original user of barrier magic left several strange "landmarks" by unconventional (and unreproducable) use of his ability.

two of these landmarks are anti-water barriers on the seabed- one deep in a crevise and the other somewhere in the ocean between east and west continents. both are used by separate aquatic civilizations- although not without excessive trouble and effort.

other landmarks include bowl-shaped barriers in mid air with an open top that catch nothing but water, eventually leading to a series of cascades (its in a very wet region of the world and the barriers lead the water to where it normally wouldnt reach, allowing settlements to prosper in more comfortable conditions.)

At some point, vehicular engineers went completely overboard with transforming vehicles. One of the most expensive aircraft developed in recent times is the Gearwing, a fighter jet capable of moving between its main jet mode, a VSTOL gunship mode, and a ground mech mode capable of moving across flat terrain with excessive speed. Then you have the Variant Motorcyc, with an antigravity speed mode, a three-wheeled fighter mode, and a flexible and off-road capable agility mode.

Knights are not trained as apprentices from older knights, rather, they must be picked and gifted their exceptional abilities by the local deity of the area the knight was born in/near. The type of deity has a huge influence on what kind of abilities the knight will have, but there is quite a variety between even individual gods. Also, knights are typically aided by spectral beings, commonly referred to simply as 'soldiers,' who are equipped with their own weapons and abilities to assist the knights.

The Martian government, for both philosophical and practical reasons, maintains the largest military per capita in the Solar System. The Martian colonists are composed largely of people who either fought for or philosophically identified with a man who placed great stock in the nature and inherent qualities of military service.

Practically, the Martian domed cities are the most physically vulnerable in the Solar System. Most space colonies at the Lagrange points have a great deal of internal subdivision and other safeguards against accident. The Lunar and outer system colonies are usually buried five meters down to protect against radiation, with only heavy industry, chemical production, and other already dangerous activities being conducted on the surface to protect the underground environments. Mars maintains a large standing military compared to their population in reflection of the fact that the vulnerability of the Martian cities means potential aggressors must be kept away from them. In the event of a successful landing near the cities or one being threatened with seizure, the Martian military would rather withdraw from the area without a fight than risk a breach of the dome.

Rumors exist of a "Spoilsport Failsafe": in the event of Mars being deemed permanently lost to hostile forces, all city domes can supposedly be shattered on command. The Martian government categorically denies these rumors as scaremongering and points to their established doctrine of preferring to go guerrilla rather than risk the domes.

On Mutra, there is an island where the water is yellow, the sand, soil and rocks are black, and the sky is red (and as soon as you get far enough away from the island, the sky and sea return to their proper colors.) Every native that island is pale with a Slasher Smile, and they worship an Eldritch Abomination. Everyone else stays far the hell away.

By now, it should be clear to all except the most dense of us that sheep are secretly conspiring to kill us all and steal our pants.

Terra 102:

The entire population lives above the ground. The cities are actually on huge platforms supported by large beams planted into the planet. Said beams and platforms have foundations made of an extremely tough Hard Light- it's harder than any known matter in the universe.

Like Saturn, the planet has rings, except they're actually made of a cluster of space stations.

One super-massive highway runs around the equator of the planet in a ring (also raised into the air)

the Abominations are actually closer to Our Angels Are Different via Pieces of God than Eldritch Abomination. When the Great Old Ones died, their collective subconscious gave birth to creatures of pure emotion-and since the GO1's are just shy of gods, their "emotions" are closer to actual personalities.

Constructs are very rarely selected to go through the change. After the change they no longer need to eat or sleep on a regular basis but may do so out of habit. Their emotions are heavily suppressed and their ability to connect with technology is hindered in exchange for enhanced reaction speeds and senses, their minds are also heavily altered, and their understanding of their world greatly increases. Many constructs who experience the change also lose the ability to feel empathy for others but a rare few retain their original personalities. Constructs who go through the change live for around four times longer than those who do not, their lifespans being increased from around 50 years (six times less than the humans of the setting) to around 200. They also age slower than the unchanged.

They cannot choose if they do go through the change if they are selected, some are more content with their lives but the majority of reported suicide attempts are made by changed constructs.
